This Is The Moment For War

"Have you woken up, Arthur? Come have your breakfast."

Lucifer did not have to eat, because of his superior genes. He had been taking an interest in cooking recently, and had started making food for him to test out his skills.

"I need to get fresh first."

"Fine by me."

After a while, Arthur was standing infront of the table, with a lot of dishes spread across it.

"Tell me, Lucifer. How do your powers even work? Are they just magic?"

"Sit down and eat first. I will tell you as you eat."

"Ah... Okay."

Arthur sat down and started gobbling up the food.

"You shouldn't eat so fast the first thing in morning."

"Just tell me about your powers."

"You humans have eyes, with which you see. If you didn't have eyes then you won't know what it feels like to see. Similarly I have special organs to give me control over my surroundings. Some of my powers contain teleportation, control over lifeforms around me and manipulation of nature around me. Using these powers is just like breathing to me."

Arthur almost choked on his food after hearing this.

"So you didn't have to do any special training or something? It's just in your bloodline?"

"Disappointed? It's just in my bloodline."

"Anyways, what are you gonna do about the international borders of countries? This country's government still doesn't acknowledge you and they think that you are a human who is pretending to be a divine being, and that makes the people doubt you."

"I will make the borders vanish into the air, all on a live broadcast so that people believe me. You can go set up the broadcast studio. There is no one there."

"Coming to think of it, what did you do to the Fufrer's staff? I don't see them anywhere."

"Them? You really want to know?"

"What did you... Do to them? Are they alive."

"I was just kidding, they are locked up in a large house where they have all facilities except means to contact the outer world."

"Why would you do that?"

"Chill down. I am not going to be this world's ruler for long. My objective is to be the God, and they need to compromise with me just for a few more days."

"Just a few more days? How do you plan to become the God?"

"The first thing I need to do is find the Dagger Of Truth, and I have sent one of my underlings to search for it. I will recieve it from him any time soon."

"Underlings?"

"One of my useless creations. His name is Sloth, a very lazy bastard indeed. Sending him on quests like these may make him more active."

"Are you sure about trusting such important things to him? Won't he turn against you with that sort of power?"

"No, he won't. That dagger gives power only to mortals, and he is an immortal. That thing is like a useless weapon to him."

Arthur looked away, thinking about who will be the mortal who shall weild that weapon capable of killing God.

"Stop daydreaming and go and prepare the studio. You don't have to ask so much questions."

"You need to ask such questions when immortals appear out of nowhere and tell me that the God we serve is false and they are trying to reform my planet. That sort of thing doesn't happen everyday."

"Okay fine. I will let you ask one more question, and after that no more questions for the day."

"What will you do after you manage to become the God? What is this 'God' thing anyway?"

"A God is a position given to someone who takes the responsibility of maintaining the balance of the world. He is responsible for making sure that each person gets what he deserves, and when the God slacks off then the kind start to suffer and the world is eventually thrown into a series of chaos. After I become the God I plan on uniting the whole world and giving people what they deserve, or what you all call 'karma'."

"You have a noble dream up your sleeve. If that's what you will really do then I will support you with all my power."

"I think I have already told you that I may seem hostile but I am a very noble guy."

After their little talk, time passed and the borders were demolished. The United Government acknowledged Lucifer as the ruler of the world and no major wars broke out. Earth descended into a golden era of peace and unity. Rebel organizations formed to oppose Lucifer but none of them had any real power, exepy one. A rebel organization, 'Two Face' was the most successful organization among them.

Lucifer made his plans public to the world, and the Dagger Of Truth was given to 'Two Face' as an insurance if something unexpected happened. Lucifer had taken a liking to ruling Earth and the common people also seemed satisfied. Many of them had not forgiven him for killing four billion people, but most of them had moved on from grieving. Arthur had come to be known as the King's Messenger all around the globe. There were many political issues but most of them had been sorted over time.

Five Years Later

Lucifer glanced at Arthur's sleeping face, before he pushed him out of the bed. Arthur's laziness had not left him even after becoming a big shot, and his weird dreams had stopped.

"Wake up, you lazy man. I need to talk about something."

"What? Now?" Arthur replied in a sleepy tone.

"God is dying tommorow."

Arthur snapped back to his senses after hearing this.

"What? Are you joking?"

"I am serious."

"Why so suddenly? You should've told me before."

"I planned it all last night, and moreover, I have found the most suitable person to slay God. He is the best mortal for this job."

"Who?"

"You will know once we go to Nirv, God's abode."

"What do you mean by 'we'?"

"The answer is simple. You are coming with me. After I become God, I will crown you the King of this new world I have made."

"I don't think I am capable for that job."

"You are the most capable."

"I think there are more problems to deal about. Have you gotten back the dagger from the rebel organization's leader?"

"Yes, it was pretty hard to convince him but he agreed. We talked to each other, but there was a curtain obstructing the view. He is a mysterious man."

"That he is. I wanted to know about him so bad."

"You might know him now. He is also coming to god's abode."

"What? Why?"

"You don't really need to know. I convinced him to see the whole thing himself so that he can confirm nothing shady happened."

"Do you know why they call themselves 'two face'.?"

"No, why?"

"One of the 'two faces' represent me, and the other represent humans. They show through their name that they are helping to connect me and the humans through them. It has a nice deep meaning, but they are doing nothing to actually connect us. I am doing everything alone."

"Thats deep, but what have they even done, besides opposing us in every decision you take? They are just dragging us down. Where is this 'God's Abode' where you are taking me along with their leader?"

"You want to know where God's Abode is? Look above you mortal. What you will witness is the oldest artifcial structure in this universe!"

Arthur looked surprised. He looked up and the ceiling vanished. Lucifer was using his powers to let him see through the ceiling. All he could see were the dark rain clouds which had been covering the sky from the morning.

"There's nothing above. Are you an idiot? What are you trying to say?"

"Arthur, you can't see anything because you can't see what's behind the reality."

"Reality?"

"Yes, reality. God's Abode is hidden right in front of your eyes, but you can't see it. The reason is very simple, it's inside a smooth dome of mirrors which keeps it hidden. The city of Nirv is located inside the dome which has a population of one million. Light bounces of the mirrors and keeps it hidden from human eyes."

"One million? That's crazy. What are so many people doing above us? Are they humans?"

"The city is like the moon, but on a much smaller scale. It's continuosly moving and has its own consciousness. It's like a giant ship in the air which knows where it should go to avoid humans."

"That's unbelievable. What about the people? Are they humans?"

"Don't mistake them for humans. They may look like humans but they are completely different from your inferior race. They are advanced and cunning. Foolish men like you would only get themselves killed if they get involved with them. Our only job is to kill God."

"Stop insulting my race, and stop calling your enemy 'God'. Isn't he a fiend acting like a friend. Everytime you say something like 'kill God' I feel uncomfortable."

"He has a name, a lot of names. The most prominent one is 'Rapha, the balance maker."

"Rapha? Thats a unusual name just like yours."

"Yes, that is, but I have something more unusual to show you."

"What?"

Lucifer took out a small dagger out of nowhere.

"This is... The Dagger Of Truth! This is not its actual size and you can increase its size by saying my name three time while holding its blade."

"What? Why are you giving it to me?"

"I have some reasons. You are the only mortal who can use it, because you filled certain conditions."

"Conditions? How am I even expected to fight someone like him with a dagger."

"You will figure out everything when you meet father. Just believe in me, and never doubt my intentions."

"What-"

"Stop asking questions and check the door. The doorbell rang. It should be the leader of 'Two Face', he agreed to show his face here before we set for God's Abode."

"What? I didn't hear any bell-"

*Ring... Ring*

"I heard," Arthur said as he rushed towards the large, wooden gate. Lucifer did not make frequent public appearances, and he commanded the government from the shadows so they lived in a mansion far away from the main city, in the countryside. They did not have any servants to prevent any leakage of confidential plans, so Arthur had to do much of the work like acting as Lucifer's messenger and his personal servant.

Arthur pulled the large wooden gate, to reveal a short man whose face was covered with a mask. The mask was black in color, with some designs printed on them in white color. His upper body was covered with a black colored suit, which looked familiar to Arthur.

The man was not moving, and was was standing still. Though Arthur could not see his face, he could see his eyes staring at him. The eyes were not wet, but he got the feeling that they were weeping inside. Something felt very familiar.

"That body and those eyes... It's like he is..." Arthur thought in his mind. He was making some assumptions.

"You are the leader of the Two Faces, right? You didn't bring any bodyguards?"

"I am not going to have a stroll in some park. I am going to witness Lucifer's fight with God, and there's no way that I can survive divine beings attacking me. If I bring bodyguards then only the death toll will increase."

"You're correct... Please come inside."

Arthur was surprised by this rational thinking of the man. His voice sounded familiar too.

"Just who is this man?" Arthur could not help but wonder.

Lucifer was standing in the corridor, waiting for them to come. His eyes lit up when he saw the man with Arthur.

"How have you been, leader? Did you miss me?" He said.

"I am not here for fun and games. Just take me along with you. Shouldn't you be in a hurry to go?"

"Yes, yes. We will go, but aren't you forgetting something?"

The man sighed, and then glanced at Arthur. Arthur just stood there, not uttering a word.

"My name is Edward, and I am the leader of Two Face. Shall I reveal my face to you now?" The man said.

"Edward!?" Arthur almost shouted.

The man looked upon him in disgust. Lucifer had the same shocked face.

"I apologise on his behalf. Please continue," Lucifer said, maintaining the look on his face.

The man, who called himself Edward reached for the back of his head to undo his mask's strap. As he removed his mask, they both looked at him with shock. He had the same eyes, the smake golden hair and the same face structure like Arthur's previous best friend.

"So this really is you, Edward! I missed you so much that I can't express them with words," Arthur said, with a clear visible grin on his face, "I thought that you looked familiar."

"Shut up! I am not the same Edward you knew. After you left me to join Lucifer without telling me anything I became the leader of Two Face, so that I could keep an eye on his actions. You didn't even bother to come yourself to inform me," Edward shouted, glaring at him.

"Wait, wait. Even I am shocked, but let's not resort to violence here," Lucifer said, trying to calm him down, "Do you have anything to say, Arthur?"

"I am... Sorry. It was my fault, but I had my own reasons," Arthur said in a weak tone.

"What reasons? Some ideals that told you to leave everything to join this creature from a different planet?"

"Lucifer, let's hurry," Arthur said, ignoring Edward's question.

"Hold my hands, and we shall directly reach God's Abode. Only I can help you reach there," Lucifer said as he grabbed their hands.

"Wai-" before Edward could complete his words, he was standing at the centre of a large room. He looked at his side to see Lucifer and Arthur standing there, staring at something.

Edward looked where they were staring, to see a human shaped being lookin towards them. He was wearing a black loin cloth and his upper body was naked. He was sitting on a throne like structure and a wide grin decorated his face, like he was expecting them.

"Welcome, lightening-bringer, cattle-killer Lucifer. You are welcome to my abode, make yourself comfortable," he said. His voice was soft, as if it was the voice of a child, but his voice was giving off a creepy vibe.

"What's he saying? Lightening-bringer? Cattle-killer?" Arthur asked.

"It is related to my birth. Before I was born, lightening was not common on my planet, but after my birth lightening destroyed many buildings all over my planet. From this I got the name 'lightening-bringer'."

"What about cattle-killer?" Edward asked.

"Stop chit-chatting among yourselves. I believe that there is a reason why Lucifer, who tried to kill me years ago comes back to me," the God shouted, but his soft voice did not intimidate them.

"I am here to kill you," Lucifer said.

"I already know that. I also know all about what you are doing on Earth, and your final plans of obtaining this throne. The Dagger Of Truth, which holds the power to kill me also must be with one of these two mortals."

Lucifer's face had a shocked expression.

"What-"

"I know everything. Even the best secrets are not safe when someone who has dedicated himself to a cause tries to learn them. In my case, I got a useful subordinate."

"Subordinate? Didn't you work alone, Rapha?" Lucifer asked.

"My, my, calling your foster father with his name. Where did the respect go that I taught you?" He said, as he signalled with his hand, calling someone.

A man emerged from behind the throne. His hairs were long and his skin color was fair, and his eyes showed hesitation.

"You are... Pride! What does this mean?" Lucifer asked the man.

"Do you know him? What's happening? Wasn't this supposed to go smoothly?" Edward asked.

"You expect something like killing God to go smoothly? Is it a wedding that would go smoothly?" Arthur snapped at Edward.

"Shut up, both of you. It looks like one of my subordinates from my past betrayed me and sold my plans to the enemy," Lucifer said, with a feeling of dilema in his voice.

"Have you activated 'that'?" Lucifer asked Rapha, clenching his fists.

"Who would not? The cattle-killer, along with his army of two humans, was coming to kill me. I was scared," Rapha replied.

"What's 'that'?" Edward asked Lucifer.

"It's a legendary item, just like the Dagger Of Truth, which holds the power to disable any divine powers within a certain range. It takes a lot of time to refill it's energy after using it once. Damn, you got me, Pride!"

"Does this mean we are screwed?" Arthur asked.

"No, wait. I still have my trump card. I still have you. Using that device means that even he cannot use his powers. Kill him with the dagger, Arthur. Aim for his heart."

"What?"

"Just do it."

Arthur removed the small dagger from his pocket and chanted, "Lucifer... Lucifer... Lucifer."

Nothing happened. The dagger remained of the same size as before. They could hear Pride laughing from back, hiding behind Rapha.

"Tch... I forgot. My powers won't work here, and the dagger won't return to its normal size. We can't do anything," Lucifer said, but something was off. There was a wide grin on his face, as if he was enjoying this.

"Why are you grinning, you bastard?" Rapha shouted, annoyed, "you can't do anything."

"Why am I grinning, you ask? You should probably come closer and see for yourself," Lucifer said, still having the grin.

"What do you mean, Lucifer?" Arthur said along with Edward.

Rapha started approaching them, and as he came closer the look on his face changed. His smile was fading and a blank look took over.

"I can't... Feel this boy's life-force. So this was your trump card... Lucifer!" Rapha said, pointing towards Arthur.

"Don't worry. Let's make a deal. I will hand over these two boys to you, and you can do whatever you want with him. In return you have to compete with me in hand to hand combat in our raw forms. If I win then I become the new God," Lucifer said, pointing towards Arthur and Edward. He sounded highly confident in his words.

"What does this mean, Lucifer? Is this your true nature?" Edward asked.

"True nature? This is the truth. The world is evil, and I plan to counter it even if I have to sacrifice everyone," Lucifer said, not caring to hide his evil looking grin, "do you know how I got the name 'cattle-killer'? Don't you want to know."

"Lucifer-" Edward said, but he was interrupted by Arthur.

"Stop it Edward. I know why he is called the cattle-killer. There's a legend among shepherds that once there was boy born to beautiful bird-woman. His father had abandoned him and he wanted to avenge the misery of his mother. To obtain more power, and to become stronger he killed the cattle who lost their way on the grasslands in cold blood and drank their blood to become stronger. I believe that the boy was you, am I right?"

"So my tales had even reached Earth? Looks like I became famous much before I came here," Lucifer said.

"Enough with the talks. Lucifer, you want to fight? Take your raw form and I shall defeat you in combat and obtain Obi," Rapha said.

Rapha's body color changed and it started shining brightly, almost like a star. His eyes and face lost their shape and turned into a plain, round sphere along with his body. He was shining brightly, and only the grin on his mouth was visible.

"Very well, then bring it on," Lucifer said as his body started to change like Rapha. The only difference was that he was not shining brightly but was actually absorbing the light Rapha was giving off. His entire body was pitch black, just like his eyes.

Edward caught Arthur's hand and pulled him back, close enough to watch the two divine creatures glaring at each other but far enough to not get involved. They would only die if they got involved. Pride was also watching them from a distance, with a blank expression on his face.

"Wait, Arthur and Edward, I will talk to you after I kill this sucker," the black figure which was supposed to be Lucifer's real body said. Arthur could sense the uncertainty in his voice.

"You want to kill me? Thats fine, but let me tell you, I ain't harmless," the white said.

The light he was emitting was almost blinding. Arthur could not see anything, and all he could hope that Lucifer would do something that would bring them out of this mess.

Pride was not making a move towards them even though he could easily kill Arthur and Edward at the moment.

"Wait fodder, let me kill Lucifer and then I will decide what should I do next with you two," Rapha said, turning his head towards them and staring at them through his non-existent eyes.

"Don't act as if you own me, bastard," Edward said glaring back at him.

"You rats have got some guts. I wonder if you would say that after I kill him," Rapha said, and his voice did not stutter.

Smoke started coming out of Lucifer's body, which covered both of the combatants and put them out of the view range of the three spectators.

"This is the moment for war, and things are going to get dirty," Lucifer said before disappearing in the smoke.

The smoke was not causing anyone to choke in it, and was probably safe to breathe. There were no sounds coming from the smoke for several hours, and the spectators could just assume what was happening.

Finally after the long wait the smoke started to clear, and it revealed two figures. One was lying on the floor and the other was standing straight.

"We are... Screwed," Edward said, as he saw Lucifer lying on the floor and Rapha standing beside him, smiling. Lucifer's body was covered with bruises, but Rapha's body was clean and shining like before. Lucifer was not absorbing any more light, and he was unconscious.

"That was not even a battle. I dragged it for too long. He refused to die" Rapha said, as he buried his right leg on Lucifer's face.

"Lucifer... Lost!?" Arthur shouted, "that cannot be possible."

"Silly mortal, you don't even know what he was planning and you try to challenge me?" God said grinning.

"He was going to bring peace in this world, and make the world a better place to live," Arthur said, almost crying.

"Better place? Are you an idiot? All he wanted was to obtain the greatest power which you hold, Arthur. You were special, and he wanted to exploit you to become God and after he became one he would have tortured you till he broke your spirit and take out the power you own."

"I don't believe you. He would never do such a thing. He had become gentle and cared for humans."

"I think what he is telling is the truth, Arthur. When you sent him to my place, he was talking about something like sacrificing you. I should've warned you at that time," Edward whispered into Arthur's ears.

"What!?" Arthur.

"Listen, you two shrimps. I don't have any use for the golden haired boy, but I will fulfill what Lucifer wanted to do. God loves power, and do you know what God loves more than that? Torturing weak humans," Rapha said, tilting his head in a creepy manner.

"Bastard, you should be giving hope to everyone and this what you do?" Edward shouted as he lunged at Rapha, in an attempt to hurt him.

He punched his chest, but nothing happened. He did not even budge.

"Hope? What's that? Some human fantasies about me? Shouldn't you be praying to me to spare your life?" Rapha said, holding Edward's hand and applying pressure at it until the bones broke.

"Edward!" Arthur shouted.

"Idiot! Why should I pray to a false God? I am Edward, the leader of Two Face and I shall protect everyone when all hope is lost. Even if you kill me, the flames of my will shall never die.

"Blind belief in God is fatal. It gives you a false sense of protection. Pride, knock him out and take him to the torture room, while I deal with this brat," Rapha said, pointing towards Arthur.

"What-"

Arthur felt a sharp jolt of pain rush within his body. He was losing his consciousness, and his eyes were closing. All he could see before getting knocked out was Rapha holding Edward's face and pressing his skull.

Arthur opened his eyes to see himself strapped on a chair, and Rapha was standing in front of him, holding something like a small blade. Pride was standing behind him. The room was dark and gloomy, and was stinking of blood.

"Oh! Are you awake? Do you want something, like a taste of my blade?" He said.

Arthur did not have the energy to answer. He was loosing consciousness again. He shut his eyes and returned to the deep sleep he left. He did not care about what Rapha was going to do to him.

"How long are you going to sleep?" A familiar voice called. A voice which seemed like it was of his own.

Arthur opened his eyes again. He was strapped to a chair again, but this time the room was different. It was a plain white room, like the room from his dreams. It still reeked of blood. He could see several bruises and cuts on his hands and chest as his body was half naked. There was a man sitting on a chair strapped just like him who looked like him. It was his dream again.

"Why am I in a dream? I don't remember sleeping," he asked his doppelganger.

He raised his head and smiled looking straight into Arthur's eyes.

"This is the reality, not a dream. This is an parallel reality inside your body, where you exist as a spiritual being. Your appearance is the same as that in the real world," he said.

"What! Does that mean someone is hurting me and causing these bruises?" The cuts were increasing. His face was bleeding.

"Yes, but don't worry because you won't experience pain here."

"Why am I here? I have figured out that you are not me, but a different creature."

"Great, but don't you have something else to worry about?"

"What? Caring takes too much energy, so I don't care about anything anymore. Lucifer is dead and so are my chances to escape alive."

"I warned you about Lucifer, didn't I? My son might have been powerful, but he was terrible at making decisions. I can't even mourn his death in this body."

"Son? Mourn? Does that mean you are...?"

"I am Obi, the greatest being in the entire universe fated to carry out his purpose inside an inferior human body."

Arthur appeared shocked, though somewhere in the farthest corner of his mind, he had considered this possibility.

"If you are still here after your son has died, then you possibly can't do anything. You are powerless, just like me."

"Foolish boy, let me tell you a story."

"Story?"

"A tale about a man who held enough power to make him a God. He tried to become a God, but couldn't bring himself to love what he did. He felt that something was missing from his life, and figured out that it was 'purpose', which gave him a sense of existing. He searched the oceans and mountains in search of a purpose which fate would alot him, but didn't find anything. Circumstances had their way and he ended up in a series of events which sealed him inside human body, caught into a several thousand years long cycle of reincarnation. His biggest mistake was not realizing his purpose."

"That man was you, right? Lucifer also talked about such things like purpose."

"My search for purpose had become so deep that I forgot why I was searching for it. I did not realize that the purpose I sought was right in front of me, hidden in a mist. I left my wife, and I left my child all for a purpose. I did not realize that my purpose was satisfying the needs of people around me, and making them happy. Till I realized that, it was too late. All the love they had given me had already turned to ashes in the fire of my foolishness."

"Why are you telling me all this?"

"I want you to answer me. Why do you fight for people around you, when you know that they are going to abandon you if they are threatened. Even if you plead and beg, they will abandon you or control you as if they own you."

"Who told you that I fought for them? I fought for myself, and now that I depended on Lucifer, I am stuck in this hell."

"I like your answer, boy. Do you fear the devil, or do you care for a God?"

"The only one I fear is my own existence, and the only one I care for is myself and my close ones."

"Do you believe in doing what is right, regardless of the outcome?"

"No, outcome is what matters."

Obi started smiling, and the smile soon turned into laughter.

"You are just like me when I was young, and you want to live your life as cattle. Goodbye, until I meet you again. You are up for a great meal."

"Meal?"

"You will know," he replied with the gentle smile not fading from his face. Something was wrong about it, and it did seem to be as gentle as it seemed to be.

The room started fading and so did Obi's face. Everything was becoming blurry, and the white room changed into the black and gloomy one.

"It's lunch time! I have prepared this food for you specially," Rapha said grinning. Pride was making a face of disgust looking at the plate of food in Rapha's hand.

Rapha opened the ropes on Arthur's hands and thrust the plate in his hands.

"Eat up, or you will grow weak."

"Ha! What have you mixed in it? Poison? Insect killing liquid?" Arthur asked.

"Don't joke. It's eatable. How can I feed my precious guinea pig poisoned food?"

"I don't believe you, but it's not like I care about my life anymore so I would eat up."

The plate had something that looked like meat, but it was different from it. Arthur picked up the pieces and stuffed them into his mouth. They were chewy and undercooked, but they still tasted good. He could not just praise food that his enemy was giving him.

"What's this? It tatses like crap. How can you feed your guests something like this?" He said, looking into Rapha's dark eyes.

"Don't lie. You like it, don't you?"

"Where is Edward?" Arthur tried to change the topic of conversation. He wanted to make himself believe that the food was not good. The cuts on his arms and upper body were hurting. Rapha had pierced his skin deep with the blades. He could face some serious issues due to blood loss.

"Edward? You mean that golden-haired boy?"

"Yes, what have you done to him?"

"You are eating him? Didn't your species practice cannibalization?"

Arthur's face hung up.

"You are joking, right old man? You are keeping him in a cell like this, right?"

Rapha appeared confused.

"He killed him by hanging him upside down and beating his body until he died of bleeding. Then he removed his organs and made this for you. What you just ate were Edward's guts," Pride said, looking disgusted.

Arthur puked up what he was chewing. He was feeling nauseous. His body was loosing consciousness again. It was because of the trauma he was experiencing.

The room turned white again. He was sitting on a chair, but not strapped and his arms and chest were still bleeding. A well built man was sitting in front of him on the same chair. He was in a parallel reality again.

"So, how did you find the food? Did you like it?"

"Who are you? You don't look like me."

"I am Obi's real form."

"Bastard! You knew about that, didn't you? And yet you didn't warn me?"

"Why would I warn you? It's not like I care whether you live or die."

"I feel like I want to puke. Even in my wildest dreams I can not imagine doing something like cannibalization."

"What do you want me to do for you? Sympathize?"

"Guide me."

"You expect me to guide you? I am a man who has already lost all his capabilities. You can't take my guidence and do something of use. All you will bring is misery."

"What should I do?"

"How did a worthless thrash like you suddenly start to care about everything again? You will be written off as the failure of humanity."

"I want to become someone who will be known as the man who did not hesitate to sacrifice for humanity. Rapha will eventually kill humans, and I am sure of that."

"Sacrifice? Are you ready to do that?"

Arthur took a long pause.

"Yes."

"Are you wise enough to sacrifice? Dont you know the consequences?"

"I am wise enough to make my own decisions. Give me power, and real power this time."

"You call yourself wise? To me you are just an ignorant man who failed to achieve anything because he depended on others."

"Humans are naive, and I don't care if they would remember me or not, but if I can give hope to humanity then I would sacrifice myself for that happily."

"Why do I protect them, if you know that they will betray you for someone greater?"

"That's... That's because it's my own will."

"What can you do for power?"

"I will throw away anything dear to me for power."

Obi started laughing, and his black hair was shining in the bright light. His eyes were darker than Lucifer's.

"What's dear to you? I will take it away from you in exchange of power."

"Take away my life for power, and I will happily live on as a memory someone can hold."

"You will just bring chaos."

"What I will bring is peace, not chaos."

"Why do you try so hard to get power? There are some things that are meant to be hidden, then why do you seek them?"

"This is... My purpose!"

The gentle smile returned on Obi's face.

"You are one of a kind. Ten minutes. It's the maximum time your body could hold my power, and after that all your blood vessels will explode. This is the last time I ask you. Are you sure?"

"There are some human fantasies that you just can't question, and there are some things which don't need assurance. Lucifer is dead and so is Edward. I am humanities last hope, so I will yield to your condition. I have to submit myself, in order to conquer."

"Goodbye, brat. This is the last time we meet. You will be dead after ten minutes."

The room started becoming dark again. Arthur could see Pride sitting on the floor, crying. He couldn't see Rapha anywhere.

"Where is Rapha, and why are you crying? Do you regret betraying Lucifer?"

Pride look towards him, shocked.

"So you are still alive? I thought that you lost consciousness for the rest of your life. Just see the cuts and bruises on your body. Rapha has been hitting and cutting you non stop since yesterday."

"Where is he?"

"He is out, taking a smoke break."

"Why are you crying?"

"You think I will be happy after what I have seen? I killed my own brothers and sisters for power, and this is what I get?"

"That was your own decision, and thanks to your betrayal Lucifer is dead."

"Master is not dead, and I am sure that he will return to take the throne."

"You can hope that, but what am going to do will only clear the objection in the way of the throne."

"What do you mean?"

"You will see."

Arthur could feel the power surging through his veins. His body was getting heavier, but he could adapt well to the weight. It took him an instant to break open the iron straps which were binding him.

"How did you do that?"

"You don't need to know," Arthur replied as he approached Pride. He was giving off an intimidating auro which caused Pride to loose his sense of movement.

"I am like a hungry beast right now, and only blood will satisfy my hunger. I don't care if it's yours."

Arthur reached for Pride's chest with his hands, and in a swift action he penetrated his chest, directly pulling apart his heart and removing it with his bare hands. There was blood everywhere on the floor, but this time it was not his blood.

He separated the heart from Pride's body and poured the dripping blood into his mouth, swallowing the bitter blood.

"Bastard..." Pride said as he breathed his last. His wings were fluttering like the wings of a dying insect, in agony and pain.

The gate opened, and a man with a tube giving off smoke entered the room.

"Welcome, Rapha. I was waiting for you. I don't have much time left, so why don't we finished this fast?"

"What did you do?"

"Just made some deals."

"This is not possible. The Obi I knew could not give his powers to a measly human."

"Sorry, but he gave the powers to me."

"I am the almighty God, you can't do anything to me. I will not die at your hands. Pray to me."

"Idiot, why should I pray? You are just a false God. You are fated to die."

"I am above fate, you can't kill me."

"I think that you are already dead."

Arthur approached Rapha with his hands in position to penetrate his chest. Rapha was frozen to his spot, he could not do anything to move his body. The pressure was too much for him to handle.

"To think that someone like you would be driven to a corner like this. You look like a dog to me now," Arthur said as he penetrated the chest and took out his heart. The heart continued to pump blood, but outside the body.

Arthur poured that blood into his mouth, swallowing it. After that he started biting the heart until he finished his meal.

"You fed me Edward, right? Now I feed on your heart. Regret?"

"I won't go down like this."

"You are already down."

Rapha was lying on the ground, with blood pouring out of his chest at high speeds. A normal human would already be dead, but this was a false god he was dealing with.

"Just die already," he said as he kicked his chest, breaking his ribs. Rapha screamed in pain, before finally dying.

"I would love to torture you, but I am bound by time."

Arthur headed out of the room, which led to an open ground. He had never been there, but instinct told him that he could see the open sky there.

He lay down on the ground, station at the clouds above him. They were not so far, as they seemed from the ground. He could hear someone walking towards him.

"So you were really alive, Lucifer?" He said to Lucifer who came near him and sat besides him.

"My gamble was successful. You can leave it all to me and go. You can rest in peace."

"I just wanted to become a cloud. How did I end up like this?"

Blood was pouring out of all the cuts in his body. The blood vessels had started to burst all over his body.

"What happened to the clouds? They look like they are covered with blood, or is it just my eyes which see it that way?"

"Stop talking Arthur, the vessels in your eyes have burst."

"Tch... I just wanted to become a cloud," he said, before he breathed his last.

Lucifer closed his motionless eyes shut with his hands.

"You died a hero's death, Gallant human. You shall be never forgotten and known as Arthur the 'Gallant' in the pages of history," Lucifer said as he lied down on the ground beside Arthur.

Everything had become quiet and the clouds showered their last rains of the year, in respect to Arthur the 'Gallant'.
