Chapter 17- Sacrifice?

"Wait. I don't want him to know that I am doing something good."

"Why?"

"He would... Probably insist on coming along with me, and that can be dangerous, right? I don't want him to be in any danger. Also, if he thinks that what I am doing is wrong, he can correct me."

"I like your guts, kid. Remember one thing, until you are working under me, all you need to must be right and if you do something questionable then be ready to face my wrath."

Arthur nodded. He turned around to look at the common men. A thought struck him.

"What are you planning to with all the countries who will oppose you? You are planning to unite the whole planet, so you are likely to face a lot of opposition."

"I don't want to resort to violence anymore. I regret killing people two years ago, and I think I will make negotiations with the leaders."

"Great! As long as you don't become violent towards them, I am happy, but I am pretty sure that they will wage a war against you."

"I haven't planned that ahead, but as you will represent humans, I will leave all that work on you."

"What!?"

"Don't be surprised. You wanted this."

"Ugh... Fine."

"Remember, thats your purpose. Making Earth a better place to live with my help is your purpose, which I have given you."

"Purpose?"

"Every man needs a purpose, and without a purpose you are as good as dead. Embrace your purpose."

"I will."

"Do you have any special thing you want to tell Edward? It might be the last thing you might say to him."

"Yes. Tell him that, 'If my purpose shall fail, then cease to protect me, my friend.'"

Lucifer smiled at Arthur, before taking a leave.

At Edward's House

Edward wondered why Arthur had not come back. It worried him.

"Is that idiot even alive? I will never forgive that bastard, Lucifer!" He cursed out aloud.

Someone knocked at the door. Edward's eyes lit up.

"Arthur? Is that you?" He said, as he rushed to the door to open it.

As he opened the door, he jumped back in fright. Soon he assumed a fighting stance.

"Chill, I am just here to talk."

"What would a mass murderer like you have to do with me? Where is Arthur."

"I am disappointed to say it, but Arthur now works under me and that makes him my subordinate."

"What the hell are you saying?"

"I said that Arthur has accepted me as his leader and he is working under me now."

"What have you done to him?"

"What do you mean? I am not a witch. He has his own mind and he came over the people who died two years ago. He is doing all this for the greater good. Now you should also act as a smart person and get over him. He might never meet you again."

"That... Can't be possible, how have you manipulated him?"

"Are you insane? I just told you that it's his independent decision. You can't do anything about it. He has decided to make all world his enemy for the greater good. He has decided to walk on this path."

"Why are you doing this to him?"

"Why, you ask? The reason is simple. He is special."

"Special? What do you mean by that crap?"

"He is the chosen one, and he will become the sacrifice."
