Keep pretending

The next morning, Alita's eyes shot open and after a while of staring blankly at the wall, she blinked twice to clear her vision and if possible, her confused mind also. 

For some reason, her night had been quite disturbing and confusing. She had no idea when she had fallen asleep, but sometime later, while she was still asleep, she started hearing a female voice calling out to her and pleading for her to come to her rescue.

The most disturbing part which she didn't understand was that she didn't see anybody. There were no images, just the voice, so she couldn't qualify it as a dream. 

As much as she was trying to ignore the consistent strange dream she had been having, it seemed the dream was intent on making her go crazy. And the voice which had been calling out to her was very similar, if not the same with the woman she always saw in her dreams.
