Tamim woke up with her head banging.
She coughed as her throat felt dry, she opens her eyes to scan around for water.
A glass of water was offered by someone as she gulped like someone who hadn't drank water in days.
She slowly opens her eyes, luckily the curtain of the room was thick enough to prevent lighting from coming in.
"Are you okay?" A masculine voice asked, it was however familiar.
It was Anton, her husband.
"Call the doctor in" he said and a minute later a young lady in her early twenties carrying a medicine bag came in to check her.
She felt a restriction on her right foot and realized it hurt. It was the foot that the piece of glass pierced.
The doctor checked her eyes, asked her to open her mouth and checked her heartbeat even asking her to say something and asking animal questions like "what sounds does a cat make?"
The doctor started to unwrap the bandage on the wounded foot. She poked some sensitive part but as always Tamim did not flinch, she started asking if it hurt, she nodded but Tamim's face never contortioned.
The doctor was confused and after futile efforts of trying to know if she really was in pain, she touched the wound directly but Tamim just looked at her strangely.
The doctor had no option but to wrap her up and called her husband out to talk to him.
Tamim stared at foot for a while before her husband came in after a while.
The doctor came in also. Anton asked her,
"Don't you feel the pain at all?" He was curious and perhaps worried.
"I feel it" Tamim replied indifferent.
"You didn't look like you could feel your foot, Dr Dami wants to know so that we can find a way to fix that" Anton pointed out.
And Tamim stared at Anton then at Dr Dami.
She noticed the doctor giving her husband a strange look perhaps seductively.
Obviously who wouldn't. Mr Wilson was very dashing and handsome.
'But how dare you look at my husband like that in front of me' Tamim thought.
She was angry and jealous.
Weird.
"I never feel pain to the extent that I have to react to it. I don't remember crying either. Only that my heart feels heavy and squeezed when sad. But instead of tears, God gave me panic" she said calmly.
With worried eyes, she saw Anton look at her as he brushed her hair with his fingers.
"Oh my poor little sister" Anton said teasingly but with a worried gaze.
"Ya! Michyeosseo??" Tamim said angrily.
(Hey, are you crazy? It's Korean)
'Huff, who is he calling his little sister. I'll be 17 soon'
Anton was grinning heavily.
She saw the lady eave a sigh of relief like she just confirmed what their relationship was.
It made Tamim more angrier as if Mr Wilson was trying to keep the marriage a secret so he can flirt with the doctor all he wanted.
Now that she noticed, the doctor was pretty and hot and was in her prime.
Anton looked at his angry wife and decided it was time to let her get some rest.
He looked her in the eye and kissed on her forehead, "Get some rest now. I'll be back, wife"
The doctor stared at her with shock evident in her eyes.
Tamim's face was beet red with her cheeks and ears burning intensely.
Tamim found herself thinking the impossible.
'Now that's much better' she thought.
