We were decked out in full armour, especially Bob since he was the weakest link. I had my trusty bident/wrist bow with me since it has never let me down. I didn't have to worry about supplies since I stashed most of the things I got from quests in my weapon, with the same magic Luke used to hide the lightning bolt in the shield he gifted Percy.
We made small talk as we travelled to the location my creations discovered. I got an ominous feeling as I arrived at the location, one that I immediately crushed. I would be cautious but being fearful isn't something I would indulge in.
This place will help me ascend into godhood much easier since I could learn more magic and skills with the time dilation on the place and the fact that it would make for an excellent lair.
"I am getting the feeling, that place doesn't like visitors," Iliana said as we stood by the entrance.
"If you think that now, wait until we explore the place," I replied, twirling my weapon. I wasn't out of practice, I went out daily to slay a few monsters for sport, mostly cyclops. I have a hate-boner for them ever since the accident.
"What are the chances, we will be attacked as soon as we get in there," Bob asked nervously. He was in the previous world war, so he wasn't inexperienced, plus I handed him a gun with celestial bronze bullets, so he should be fine for the most parts.
"Low, but never zero," I replied before opening the entrance and diving in. I couldn't connect to the eyes of my creations while they were separated since time was fucked so I didn't bother to send them in while I waited.
My two companions soon joined me in the dangerous maze. The ominous feeling increased and I could feel the labyrinth trying to worm its death messages into my mind. Jokes on it, I diligently trained myself to resist mind magic as soon as I figured out how.
"Spooky," Iliana said as we began walking through the corridor. We had our weapons equipped, ready for any danger. Iliana had a one-handed sword with her that she commissioned one of the Hephaestus children to craft. With a few runes, she turned it into a conduit for her to channel her magic.
We slowly advanced, defeating most of the enemies easily, which wasn't that much since Iliana and I mastered the invisibility spell to a good level, it is a shame I can't keep it active forever.
The walls, also, kept shifting but we had Bob to help us navigate the place so it was fine. The few birds I had on me, also helped to scout to whatever places we were heading, this allowed us to evade the Roman god Janus and easily skip past the son of Gaia and Poseidon who watched the arena.
We didn't really encounter any real problems because unlike Percy we had our GPS from the beginning. So no sphinxes tried to lord her intelligence over us, good for her too since I would just kill her by that point. I have no love for monsters, they're a pain in the ass, on the best of days. Well besides mine.
Though as we approached Daedalus's workshop, things began heating up. Groups of automatons began approaching us, enough that sneaking past them was impossible due to them cramping the thin corridor.
I felt a transmission against my mind. I allowed it access to communicate with me though. 'I could shadow travel around them.' Iliana telepathically communicated with me. It was a spell that was useful in many of our quests, so I was versed with it.
'Too risky, if the passage changes, we could get mutilated if parts of us are stuck in the wall.' I transmission back. 'Get ready to attack,'
Iliana thrust her sword forward while saying a quick magic phrase, causing an earthquake to disarray the robots. She continued devastating them with it, while I ran into the fry myself. I chose not to use magic at the moment since if Daedalus encountered 2 magic users, he may bolt. I efficiently sliced through the robots while using acrobatics and my reflexes to avoid my partner's bombardments. They were made of celestial bronze but unfortunately for them, my weapon was made by the greatest smith in the world and adding my magic to my blade just made this a sad event.
Some tried going for our GPS but Iliana in the back took care of them, by blasting them with powerful magics. After that, we continued heading in the direction Bob gave us.
"Maybe we should offer Jack as an offering. You and I both know how the old greeks love boys younger than them." Iliana jokingly adds.
"Why me," Bob asked indignantly.
"Because I would bury him alive before he touches me and I assume an old man isn't to Ezra's taste." She added much to my amusement. I agreed with her on that point, Iliana is my little witch and I would kill anyone that would try to change that. I already have to share her loyalty with her mother, another would be too much.
"Neither would I," He answered, causing both of us to shrug our shoulders.
"Sometimes we have to make sacrifices for the greater good," I replied in a faux grim tone, causing the poor bloke to pale. I just laughed it off, my charm speaking and other love magic working wonders to keep him docile, I wouldn't be surprised if he was actually willing to offer up his behind for the mission.
He grumbled but we continued walking before we finally reached the locked door.
'I have a plan, follow my lead.' I send the mental command to my comrades.
"Hey open up, we come in peace," I yelled. He already knew we were here so I didn't fear doing this.
"Who are you." Someone asked through the intercom. I assumed it was Daedalus.
"Jehovah's Witness. Can I introduce you to our lord and saviour, Jesus Christ?" I asked and watched as the door opened. I could see the shock on Iliana's face as she wondered if that actually worked. Clearly, Daedalus was a man of culture.
"It seems you brats become more peculiar by the decade. Fine, I will hear you out, it would be amusing if nothing else." He said as he led us in.
"Do you have some tea, or would you offer us coffee like savages," I said and I could see the amusement on his face. He was probably underestimating us, or maybe not he was supposed to be one of the smartest people alive. But even smart people could be arrogant.
"It just so happens that I do. Now, what can I do for you gentlemen?" He asked.
