Three Conditions

Alexa suddenly invited Kai to stay at her house for a good reason. And her reason was, that Kai wasn't still remembered some of his memories of who he was before and even the faces of his relatives. She knew that the creatures in the Deranium City would use Kai's innocence to take advantage of him.

Apart from that, Alexa often stayed at her house because of the large number of adventurers getting injured every day. So in her mind, it was way better if there was someone who would take care of her house for her.

"Really? Do you want us to live together? But I don't have enough money, so I can't say that I'm still not ready..." He said in a low tone, then glanced at her in the corner of his eyes along with a shy expression on his face.

Suddenly, Alexa gently chopped Kai's head using her smooth lovely hand. "Don't jump to a conclusion, idiot! I'm just protecting you from the other creatures. Hmph!" Alexa replied in an annoyed tone, but it could not help her face blushing. 'He's right... I'm asking him to stay at my house, so it does mean we're actually living together.'

"I'm just kidding, Miss Alexa." Kai gradually rubbed his head before adding these words. "Protect me from who? It's dangerous to wander in this city?"

She shook her head, "No, just like that. I'm just trying to protect you from the creatures who will put advantage on you. With my help, I can help you with giving remarks if you are going to trust those adventurers or not."

Well, Kai understood the gist of it. Also, he realised that he was not in a good position to refuse her offer. Why? He was nowhere to go and doesn't have enough to rent a house in this city. Also, by sticking with her he can get free more information about the world he was standing in.

"If you insist... Then, I'll accept your offer." Kai smiled at him, then put his belongings behind the door.

"Eh? Why did you let me feel that I'm forcing you to stay in my house, huh! I'm just giving you an offer!" She said in a high tone as she never thought this man could be annoying.

"I'm just joking around, Miss Alexa. But please, let me stay for a while, in exchange, I'll pay for the rent and food." He bowed his head at her since he was thankful there was a woman like her in this place.

"T-That's what about I'm going to say, Kai." She stuttered a bit, so she paused for a second and cleared her throat before raising her three fingers. "I have three conditions before I let you stay in my house."

He frowned his brows as the ambiance of the place started to be serious. "No problem, miss Alexa. Just tell me what are your conditions."

"First, you should help me to pay the rent and buy food, so it means do you need to find a decent job. But don't worry, I'm not that strict since you are coming from severe injuries, I'll give you three days to find a job. Second, make sure that my house is always clean because I feel annoyed if I saw the kitchen is a mess and the things are scattered all over the place. Lastly, also the most important thing. We should not have any sexual interactions and don't fall in love with me."

For him, finding a job was a good decision as he can't always rely on this woman for giving him food. About the house cleanliness? He agreed with it since he felt the same thing. Yet, he wasn't expecting the third rule would be like that so he was surprised a little bit. Nevertheless, he never schemed to do such a thing to women, especially Alexa.

"I respected you, Miss Alexa, so you can guarantee that I'll never do something stupid." His eyes went serious as he really meant his words.

"If that's the case, you can go to my house." Alexa faces the door as seemed like she was leaving the place. "Please be ready for five minutes, Kai. I'm just going to get my stuff, and we are going to my house."

The door clicked after the beautiful woman closed it. Moreover, Kai was left standing in the small room and bowing his head.

"Thank you so much for everything, Miss Kai! I promise I'll pay you back, and do whatever you want!" Kai yelled and his voice was loud enough to reach the corridor where was Alexa walking right now.

"He's good and innocent guy! But, I don't know why I'm helping too much." After Alexa deeply sighed it followed up with a broad smile.

After a few were moments, Kai and Alexa left the infirmary. They were now walking in the city where they could see other high establishments, carriages that passing by, guards that were roaming around, merchant, and market that were crowded with different creatures.

Yes, this city was more lively than he thought. They were laughing, smiling, and yelling when you can't see that they were not facing hard circumstances.

Moreover, it was still inevitable for the other creatures to stare at Alexa and Kai. To be exact, Kai had uniqueness which piqued the attention of beautiful women around them. While Alexa had an angelic face and was also famous for being a C+ healer, so the other men can't stop themselves to feel envious of Kai that was walking beside her.

Although Kai wasn't hearing the exact words coming from the other creatures. Yet, he already knew they were talking about them.

"Miss Alexa, do you know what is going on here? I think all of them are looking to us?" He asked her in a low tone so that the creatures have surrounded them can't hear him.

Alexa glanced at him in the corner of her eyes. "Don't mind them, Kai. Just walk up straight and follow me wherever I go, okay?" She said politely as it seemed like she was avoiding having interactions with them.

Kai shrugged his shoulders as he didn't persuade to ask a specific answer to Alexa. "Got it..."

After walking for almost 20 minutes. Alas, Alexa and Kai reached their main destination. It was located in the easter part of the Deranium City, and of course, he didn't know their exact location since he was new here.

To describe what his eyes filled right now, it was surrounded by different houses that were specially made of concrete bricks. At the same time, he noticed the joyful children were playing around the area.

In front of him was the metal door, by simply looking at it, this woman's house was above average way better than the wooden house he spotted earlier.

Alexa slowly pushed the door, "Welcome to my house, Kai! Please be at home." She invited him with a smile while her hand saying Kai should enter first before her.

"Thank you for having me!"

Inside was a wooden polish surface where he could see the reflection of his face. Also, there was a comfortable sofa, a small desk positioned next to the red couch, a dining table, vases, and red curtains, and the most thing that piqued his attention was the cleanliness of this house.

The scent of flower went to his nose before he took a glance at Alexa with his astonished eyes. "Your place is so beautiful!"

"Thanks, Kai!" She pointed her finger at the door in the opposite position from her room. "That's your room, Kai, and that's mine. You can eat whatever you want here, just make sure that you will help with the payment, okay."

"Yes, I'll do that."

Alexa explained since she was living alone here it means there nothing can be found in Kai's room. Aside from the pillow, blanket, and bed. Kai wasn't wishing for more, he just wanted a place where he can rest.

"I'll leave you here, I'm going to take a bath and I have to sleep since I didn't have enough time to do that when I'm in the infirmary," Alexa informed him.

"Yes, miss Alexa! I'm good with this, have a nice sleep." Kai responded nonchalantly before remembering something. "Alexa, wait for a second. Just asking what I have to allow enter the tower?"

She raised her brows, "Where is your adventurer's template?" Alexa asked him.

"Template? I don't have anyone of that." He replied in a perplexed tone.

The adventurer's Template was the one used to determine the identity of the adventurer, rank, and class. Once a certain person has that, it means he or she was an adventurer.

At this point, it came to Alexa's mind Kai lost it inside the Nocturn tower. "If you haven't one, go to the Adventurer's Headquarters and do a revaluation, okay?"

"Revaluation? Or evaluation? Because I never did even once."

"Whatever, Kai! Just go there and you will find out! They might have the personal information about you!"
