Facing the fear of World War III, United Nations decided to take all the conflicts virtual. All the researchers and developers at hand created a virtual reality interface called peace online. The time frame was set to the Iron ages and each country was given limited spots to create and develop their territory within 5 years... This is the story of Aarv Bhosle... A 19-year-old youth-created his own territory according to his father's wishes and dominated the entire world with his military strategies. This is the story of experiencing India's greatest regrets in history...
The Rattha tribe (In native tone: रठ्ठा (Simplified: रतथा ) ) were one of the ancient tribes in India. They migrated from the north of India and settled down on the Deccan plateau in the early Bronze Age.
According to the official records, they were master herdsmen. They brought the knowledge to tame wild cows, sheep and goats with them when they migrated southwards. That's why in the south they were originally called shepherds.
'If I could get animal taming skills from their tribe, I could have a good source of income…!'
Aarv thought as he looked in the distance.
But, there was a major problem. The Rattha tribe was very territorial and it was impossible for them to join other villages or tribes. Aarv knew that just gaining their acknowledgement was key. He hastily looked through his memories as he remembered,
The Rattha tribe's whole economy was based upon animal products like Loni ( Loni is unsalted white butter generally made from cow's milk… ), milk and wool. He then turned towards Rahul Bhil who was waiting for his orders.
"Tell the leader of the Rattha tribe that we will allow them to sell their products in our market."
By doing this, Aarv knew that he would kill two birds with a single stone.
Firstly, He will be able to improve his relationship with the Rattha tribe and secondly, he will be able to bring free-market products to his market.
He also thought that he would buy milk and other animal products cheaper from the Rattha tribe and sell it in southern NPC cities like Hyderabad where there is a lack of animal products.
"As your wish Aarv Babu…"
Rahul Bhil bowed to Aarv and left to make the arrangements.
Looking at his back Aarv had a strange light in his eyes. He kept some things to himself about the Rattha tribe.
The main reason was blueprints. In the document Aarv read on the first day, he knew that for specific technologies, there were blueprints hidden inside the game. People could only obtain them through quests and cannot be bought from the market.
These blueprints contained special technologies that were first invented in those countries. For example, China first invented gunpowder and paper. So, In Chinese states, there will be blueprints for making these things.
Aarv knew that India had a lot of things that they invented like Damascus steel, non-rustic iron, rock cutting technology, floating rock technology etc.
The Rattha tribe had the technology to make chariots!! If Aarv remembered correctly, the Rattha tribe migrated southwards because they were annoyed by constant attacks in the northwest. With time such Chariot making technology was lost because of peaceful days.
At first, Aarv did not take chariot making technology to his list but, if he could get his hands on it, then it was a bonus.
The technologies that Aarv sought most were Damascus steel and rock cutting technology. He knew where he could get both of these technologies in India and already sent people secretly to retrieve these blueprints.
Damascus Steel, Some people argue that Damascus steel originated in the city of Damascus, Arabia (Present-day Syria…). But, what people don't know is that Damascus steel was first found in South India. Where blacksmiths used layers of high carbon steel and low carbon steel to create weapons.
Though these weapons were weaker than the carbon steel we use today, it was a technological marvel at that time. So, the Arabs (The Arab merchants) took the steel which was originally known as Wootz steel and sold it in the city of Damascus.
The popularity of Wootz steel grew and since it was only found in Damascus city, It was generalized as Damascus steel.
'What an irony…' Aarv thought.
The second technology he wanted the most was rock cutting technology. Anyone might think that rock cutting is a pretty simple task with high tech machines. But, what if I told you that ancient India had rock cutting technology which was far more advanced than what we have today..?
In India, there is a temple known as 'Kailasha Temple' which is located in several caves. The temple is carved out of a MOUNTAIN…!! Local people say that the whole mountain was carved to create the temple within seven days.
Modern scientists say that using modern technologies, it is impossible to carve such a temple. They also stated that it would at least take a hundred years to complete such a massive monument.
Aarv thought it was quite hilarious to think that some scientists say India had no technology. While the same scientists took our ancient pill formulas and patented them and sold them for profit. That story is saved for another time…
---
Back inside the main city hall, Aarv was sitting in the main seat while deep in his thoughts. He needed those blueprints before anyone else could know about them.
'If I don't get the Wootz steel blueprint, then it's fine… but I need the rock cutting blueprint…'
Aarv didn't know what type of technology the ancients used but he was willing to take the risks to get his hands on something extraordinary.
This was quite an informative chapter so I will keep it short... and I know lately all the chapters are informative but trust me, for world-building they are necessary ....
