Questioning

"So Jasper, care to explain to us what happend to your squad. And most importantly the Awakening Gem?" Asked a hologram.

Jasper looked around the room nervously. The people around him were some of the most powerful Cultivators in the world.

Jasper knew for a fact that if he somehow managed to offend one these people he could easily lose his career or worst, his life.

"Esteemed Masters," said Jasper bowing. "This monster killed my team and nearly took my life," Jasper said while touching a wound by his hip.

"I would like to do everything in my power to help."

"Commendably, now tell the council what happened," said Cain.

Nodding, Jasper continued. "My team was called by Cain at 1:50 AM last night. He assigned us a rescue mission to secure a member of the Recon division and return him back to base".

"This immediately caught us by surprise as members of the Recon division might not be incredible fighters but are notoriously hard to pin down or injure. Thanks to their Path To Power "Spatial Manipulation".

"Upon arrival in Victoria park, the place seemed like a war zone." Taking a deep breath Jasper continued.

"That's when we came into contact with him. A man completely covered by a membrane of shadows, giving off a dangerous and sinister vibe."

"Our first priority was to secure the asset and his cargo". Jaspers mood darkened drastically remembering what happened next.

"But that wasn't possible, as soon as he noticed my team's arrival he went on the offensive." "He conjured some kind of massive Crow made of shadows."

Just remembering the sight of the crow made Jasper go a couple of shades whiter.

"The Crow charged us. We tried to separate but the Crow split into multiple smaller Crows chasing us down."

At this point, Jasper was really struggling to keep it together. He'd been through thick and thin with his team but now.

"We didn't stand a chance. The Crows were too powerful. In just one attack this monster had killed my entire team."

The masters looked at Jasper in disbelief. The number of people the council knew of, who held such power wasn't more than 100 people.

"I knew I couldn't win. So I ran at full speed trying to get to the asset as fast as possible before the shadow beasts next attack."

"Just as soon as I got to a barely conscious Sloan. I was pierced from behind by some kind of shadow attack. I couldn't see what it was it but it left a hole in my hip."

"I understand that you and Sloan escaped but what happened to the Gem." Asked a council member seeming impatient.

It was at this point Jasper knew his life meant nothing to them, they just wanted to Gem.

Taking a deep breath Jasper continued. "After being injured, I was lying next to a barley conscious Sloan.

"After seeing my injury Sloan somehow came to and took out the Awakening Gem. This stopped the monster in his tracks."

"He offered the Gem to the monster in exchange for our lives. The man accepted the exchange. Just as the man calm down a bit, Sloan sent the Gem through a 'Spatial Door'. To where I don't know but it made the thing furious."

"You lost the Gem?" Shouted one of the council members sounding outraged. Do you have any idea how valuable that Gem is? It's worth more than your life" Jasper was visible taken back by the remarks.

"If you don't mind me asking Masters? Which path of power does the Gem Awaken for it to be so Valuable?"

Jasper was confused, he knew that any Gem of power was incredible Valuable but this seemed too much. He had never heard of the council meeting over the loss of a single Gem, even a Space Gem.

"If you must know Mr Jasper." said a council member.

"The Awakening Gem you and Mr Sloan lost."

"Was a Gem used to gain access to a recently discovered, 6TH Path Of Power!!!!"

Walking through Victoria Park with his Sister. Alex was approaching the taped off Crime scene surrounded by armed Police officers.

"Wow, it looks worse than it does on TV." Said Hazel looking at the mess of a crime scene.

"Yeah, there is no way an explosion caused this" thought Alex looking around in amazement.

Battered cars and holes littered a 100-meter area. "There is no way a bomb did this," said Alex and for once Hazel agreed with him.

Looking to his right, Alex could see a young couple talking to Detectives. They were saying something about a door of light and some injured looking model kinda guy, walking about the park.

The Detectives was understandable looking at the couple as if they were insane.

"Come on," said Alex. "Let's see if we can see anything else on the way to class."

Walking through the park, Alex and Hazel couldn't find anything out of the norm.

"I'm sure the detectives have already searched the area, Alex." There's nothing here.

"I have a good feeling just bare with me," said Alex looking around with an insane vigour in his eyes.

"Come on Alex we're gonna be late for class lets just look later." Looking at his watch Alex cursed.

"Dammit you're right, come on let's go I can have another look after class." Said Alex taking off in a run pulling his sister behind him.
