Path to Strength

This is the first book I am posting on this platform, so I ask for patience. My native language is not English, and I am not ashamed to say that I am using the so-called "Best Translator in the World" to help me with this work (DeepL translator). I was really trying to find fanfics that take place in the worlds of Baki, Kengan Ashura or the like, and although I found them, I only came across ones where the character gets supernatural powers that put him above any fighter from these worlds, and that frustrated me. A man needs to see two people fighting using their fists entirely, rather than creating interdimensional portals or something of that sort. So don't expect these kinds of powers here, because here there will just be the old way of solving problems. ---------------------------------------------------- It was a normal day for Yuji, going to school, then to the gym he was attending and finally home. A monotonous, but pleasant routine. There was no cause for pride, much less shame, so for the teenager that was enough. As always, everything was going as it should. That was until the moment when, looking in the mirror, the boy's whole perspective seemed to change. Facing someone who looked like him, but at the same time, was not him, Yuji sees himself in a similar world, but which is certainly not his. Crossover world of animes, including Tokyo Revengers, Baki, Kengan Ashura, Holyland, Hajime no Ippo and others that can easily be included in FF if readers have ideas.

A direct confrontation with Yuji Shinakawa was inevitable, James Lee knew that well. He would have preferred to avoid the whole confrontation, but at that point, it was no longer possible.

James trusted in his own strength, after all, he had beaten all the first generation kings, and had practiced enough to always stay at his peak.

But he knew that a direct confrontation against Yuji would not end without serious damage. Even if he could win, he would by no means come out unscathed.

That's why he wanted this confrontation at all costs.

!

But unfortunately, there was no more time for that.

"To think I'd find you here."

Emerging from the trees, Yuji revealed himself without much drama, James turning to see him walking nonchalantly towards him.

"In the end, you really were a traitor." Stopping in front of him, Yuji smiled a little as he looked him straight in the eye. "Always Charles Choi's little bitch, aren't you?"

James frowned at his words, clearly irritated by them. "I do what's necessary to survive, you understand that, don't you?"

Yuji raised an eyebrow, and contemplating that question for a moment, he didn't take long to give an answer.

"What it takes to survive, you say?"

Turning his back on James, Yuji crossed his arms while rubbing his chin thoughtfully.

"Survive what, exactly? Are you trying to avoid becoming a target for Charles Choi?" Yuji asked, which made James remain silent. "Or maybe that's not it? What if you're trying to take his place? Persuading him to cause this war might be one of your plans."

Although he didn't show it, James was happy that Yuji believed it. Taking the focus off him and leaving it solely on Charles would be perfect in that situation.

"You're very perceptive, Yuji." James smiled. "That's why there were some rumors that lies didn't work on you."

"Oh... So that's all the options?"

James nodded in agreement, his warm eyes turning to the boy as he extended his hand towards him.

"How about it, then? Shall we ally to finish off Charles Choi? Or shall we fight to the death?"

Seeing this, Yuji nodded in satisfaction and squeezed his hand, letting his smile widen.

"James..."

James Lee, who at this point was happy that his plan was going the way he had hoped, let his smile disappear when the grip on his hand increased.

"Do you think I'm an idiot?"

Boom!

Clutching his eyes in pain as a fist hit him squarely in the stomach, James flew backwards until he stopped his momentum with his feet, blood dripping from his lips.

"Or should I say..."

James, raising his head as he wiped the blood from his mouth, stared intensely at Yuji.

"Charles Choi?"

Hearing that, the veins in James' forehead popped, his eyes widening in complete shock for a moment, before he quickly tried to hide his reaction.

"What the hell are you talking about? Have you gone mad?" James regulated his breathing. The sharp attack had done more damage than he had thought possible.

Yuji, seeing how James was trying to get around the situation, just sighed as he began to approach.

"Leave that theater aside. I have no idea how you can use two bodies, but I know what I see." Stopping in front of James, showing no sign of being intimidated by such close proximity, Yuji declared confidently. "And I can say with total certainty, you and Charles Choi are the same person... Or you share the same mind, something like that."

James Lee felt fear run through his entire body. How had that boy found out about this? He didn't seem to know what the two bodies were, so how?

"In the end, I don't really care that much. I just have something I'd like to test."

!

James, not reacting when a punch hit him directly in the jaw, staggered to the side, before quickly regaining control.

"If I kill you, will your other body die too?" Snapping his fingers, he cracked a scary smile. "We'll find out."

Advancing towards his target, Yuji immediately attacked with a powerful punch that pushed James Lee backwards, Charles Choi's second body feeling his defense falter before he quickly countered with a kick that the boy promptly blocked.

'I was right, he's certainly stronger than most.

Holding James' ankle, Yuji tried to pull him away, but a well-placed kick to the face forced him to let go.

Charles Choi had accumulated a lot of experience during his time as second-in-command of the Gapryong Fist. He was far from being like the opponents Yuji had faced.

With a body at its peak and the mind of a master, he was confident of beating the boy.

What's more, he had an ability that Yuji certainly didn't know about yet.

The trump card that would bring him victory.

Boom!

Quickly pulling himself together, Yuji turned to advance, but before he could get any closer, a strong impact hit his chin hard enough to push his head up, blood flying from his mouth as he staggered backwards.

'What was that?' Surprised by the sudden damage, he quickly regained his balance as he turned to James Lee. 'That was... A kick?

"Are you surprised?" James asked dismissively, his smile never fading from his lips. "You chose that, kid. Now take the consequences."

Seeing the man advancing towards him, Yuji prepared himself, only to be surprised once again, this time a powerful attack suddenly hitting him in the ribs, before another hit his jaw hard enough to push his head to the side.

'Are those invisible attacks?'

Trying to counter with a punch, Yuji had his chin hit once again, his eyes fluttering for a moment before he quickly jumped back.

'Got it... They really are invisible attacks. Even my eyes can't keep up...'

Seeing James jump in front of him, Yuji sighed in annoyance, his eyes narrowing before he took a stance.

'But how long will it go on like this? Will I adapt first, or will he bring me down?'

Stabbing his fingers into the ground, Yuji prepared himself, James raising an eyebrow at this.

!

Exploding towards him, Yuji appeared in front of him in an instant, his fist hitting James' defense squarely, the second generation legend clenching his teeth as he struggled to resist.

But to his misfortune, his defense wasn't enough to stop the boy's fist, the attack going through when he gave way and hitting his solar plexus full on.

"Ugh!" Coughing up blood, James staggered backwards.

But he didn't have time to recover when Yuji hit him full in the face with a kick, his head flying back and sending him crashing to the ground.

"What?"

Holding him by the hair, Yuji easily lifted him up and threw him away like a rag doll.

"Are you surprised?"

Advancing, Yuji caught up with him before he collided with a tree, hitting him with a kick that pushed him to the ground.

Boom!

James' back hit the ground hard, the impact crushing the ground and causing a faint tremor to spread through the surroundings.

"You're the one who chose this, have you forgotten?" Crouching down to look at the injured James Lee, Yuji looked at him with little interest. "Take the consequences."

!

Bringing his hand up to his face, Yuji narrowly blocked a punch aimed at his nose, James Lee using this moment of distraction to get up and walk away with a thrust of his legs.

"What do you think you're doing?" James, breathing heavily, asked with indignation in his tone. "Don't you want to save that girl? Do you know what will happen to her if you don't give in?"

Yuji waved his hand indifferently, his head turning to face a bruised James Lee.

"She'll die, you idiot!" James Lee seemed beside himself. At that point, he knew that his victory was already impossible, so he believed he could at least persuade the boy. "I'll kill her before you can do anything! All it takes is a single sign, and that will be the end of her."

But while the man tried to intimidate the boy with his words, Yuji didn't seem the least bit shaken, which made James look at him with confusion.

"Your mistake is believing that I would be so naïve as to stay on the front line, when you could kill Gaeul any time you wanted." Standing in front of James, Yuji watched him with a serious look. "I'm not the protagonist of this plan, idiot. That's her father."

James widened his eyes in awe, and attacked Yuji with a punch, James was shocked when the boy just blocked the attack with his palm.

"In the end, I seem to have adapted first."

"Wait-"

Boom!
