Chapter 5: Go Ahead!

Sven felt a soft calmness envelop him, it was like that of a hug from one's mother, warm and secure yet tight and loving. it filled him with a power he had never felt before. It flooded his whole body, bit by bit. Every cell was filled with an indescribable radiating kingly power. A calming brotherly phantom-like hand gripped his shoulder.

"It'll be alright calm down and use my power" Duza the great king Gilgamesh and the brother in arms of Sven, now nothing more than a magically bound phantom he could only guide and assist rather than dirty his hands. the flowing field of green grass and trees created by Sven's mythos became even more vibrant as his entire being filled with godly power. He wasn't angry as he had once been, he wasn't even filled with any emotions. all he felt was an endless wave of calm. Sven's eyes a fusion of his normal beautiful emerald melded with the once in a million color of Duza's eyes, vibrant fuchsia. Sven lifted his head and glared daggers at Mario. a massive shockwave shook the domain, the ground split apart and cracked wide open. Mario nearly toppled to the abyss below as the ground he was standing on fell into disrepair below him.

"Mario I apologize for what I'm about to do"

"Go right ahead!!" Mario said pointing his fingers like that of a gun at Sven's head. Raising his fist it glowed bright white as space around it began to warp. Space-time an interesting and quite complex quantum mechanic spoken about in the field of Quantum engineering and Physics. Sven was about to bend the rules of the universe to meet his own goals. Space-time continued to warp as the gravity-bound around Sven's single fist became even greater to that of the core of the Andromeda galaxy. In a split second, the earth felt the weight of the crash through it for only a microsecond. A silent cosmic shockwave shattered and warped the surrounding space and sliced Mario's body in half. his blood lingering in the air. A smile grew on Mario's face, his fingers still pointed at Sven's head. When the shockwave subsided, all of heaven, earth, and hell noticed as the gravity that was weightless moments before increased by millions of times in the fraction of a blink.

Mario's corpse dropped to the ground like a ragdoll. Sven felt hollow, he didn't feel accomplished by stopping someone he saw as evil nor did he feel satisfying, he felt a deep guilt a sadness having to kill a man he loved so much.

dropping to his knees Sven's body was overwhelmed and inundated with a dreadful sadness. Tears welled in his eyes and the flowers that once populated the lush fields of Sven's domain wilted and withered away. Sven screamed to god but there was no reply. he asked why he had to kill a man he trusted. yet the creator the one who bound the universe together turned a deaf ear to the sniffling man's question. Cradling the deceased body of Mario. Sven could only weakly cry and sob. He didn't have the mental facilities to even form a coherent thought. He could only live in the moment. a moment grounded in nothing but pain and regret. A pit filled where his heart once was. Gilgamesh stood once again as a phantom over Sven. He placed his phantom hands on Sven's shoulders.

"It hurts, loss is a pain only humans feel"

"It was your power that killed him!!!" Sven retorted swatting Duza's arms away.

"You tried reason didn't you?"

"so?"

"If reason and logic fails the only logical step is force"

"Will it always hurt this bad?" Sven said looking the God-king in the face. The great king averted his eyes, his head trembling in a sovereign remembrance.

"Unfortunately the pain never fades" Duza clutched his phantom chest and lamented. "It's a pain that gets stronger and heavier with age, the blood on your hands can never be washed away, can never be cleansed the sins you carry" Duza placed a brotherly palm on Sven's cheek. "its a pain Colby is all too familiar with?"

"C-Colby that's my nephew, he's barely even one year's old how do you know him?"

"Remember the family you and your nephew were born into, that of the first King"

Duza faded like the wind, without a second word he was gone. Sven sat in the muddy water soaked street Mario's lifeless cadaver He Looked towards the sky. Blameless, faultless, and beautiful. as blue as the deepest ocean. Sven tipped his head backward and felt nothing.

"It must be raining somewhere" an overwhelming numbness silenced his nerves. quieted his brain and his inner thoughts. His eyes went blank and his emotions faded. Sven felt nothing but muffled cold hate. Not at the world, not at Devon or Mario. Not even Duza. His hate was turned towards himself. Dread. Hollowness and fear while dull and numb were lingering in Sven's mind. He looked over at the remnants of his domain. wilted dead flowers. broken trees melding into the sides of buildings as if they were clipping through it in a videogame. He placed the bifurcated body down in the brown, dry, and decayed grass. bringing his hands together Sven prayed over the corpse in his mother tongue. the flowers bloomed once more enclosing the body and giving Mario a beautiful blossom sarcophagus for him to rest in. Standing up Sven made his peace a great weight on his heart. he walked down the street. he walked slowly, his body feeling every molecule of guilt that was etched into his soul. Like the curse of Cain after murdering his brother, Sven felt every single modicum of dread that the eyes of God brought down upon him. walking into the main road, the awful stench of murder wafting off of him like the scent of raw sewage. Sven looked towards the setting sun as commotion set the town alight with life. People ran screaming, falling their arms above their heads, they all screamed about the end times. Sven walked past the sea of people. pushing his way through Sven held his chest. his fingers touching the sigil burned onto his flesh since birth. A sigil that sealed his fate. To be the heir of the first king. The king's vessel a curse not of the magically inclined earth, that binds people from different centuries together as if they were a family. Sven resented this. his nails dug into the soft flesh of his chest. Sven hated this mysterious lineage he had been born into. He hated Atum, Sheba, Indra, and even Gilgamesh to an extent. He hated how they impeded his life. How strong they were compared to him. he hated how they changed everything. He hated himself for being one of them.
