It seemed that sparing Douglas' life meant that Roy intended him to acknowledge her as his master and serve her protectively. "Hmph!" Roy snorted coldly at Douglas' plea for mercy. "I'm not interested in your begging, but you'll be the slave I've chosen for my maid. If she agrees, your life is spared."

Roy tossed Douglas in front of Shelley, and as he walked into the palace, Douglas knelt at the door awaiting her protection.

"Huh? Oh..." Shelley realized that Douglas still believed she was Kriss' maid. "Mr. Bandit Leader, tell me, is there a possibility that the maid Master Roy mentioned is me?"

"?" Douglas shuddered, sensing Shelley's danger. Without hesitation, he pledged allegiance to her.

"Not bad," Shelley nodded. "Though you signed a slave contract with me, remember, there's only one master for us, and that's Lord Roy."

"Yes, Miss Shelley."

Entering the palace, Roy awaited them. "Have you negotiated?" he inquired.

"Well, Mr. Roy, we have signed a contract. Douglas won't betray," Shelley assured, presenting tea.

Roy acknowledged her efforts, emphasizing that Douglas must fight to protect Shelley in case of danger. Satisfied with Douglas' commitment, Roy rewarded him with his space ring.

"Come on, follow me in to meet the master."

"Yes, master."

"Call me Shelley, Douglas. Remember, though you've signed a slave contract with me, there's only one master for us—Lord Roy."

"Yes, Miss Shelley."

Meanwhile, Kriss, after bidding farewell to Roy, found her parents.

Tia, angered by Kriss' disrespectful tone, revealed that Roy had chosen a new maid and Kriss was now free. Stripped of her maid status, Kriss faced eviction from the ancestral land, a move that shattered her dreams.

Devastated, Kriss pleaded for a chance to see Roy and admit her mistake. However, Tia dismissed her pleas, leaving Kriss with a harsh reality—her life had taken an unexpected turn, and she was now without a place by Roy's side.
