Where?

SPLASH!

SPLASH! SPLASH!

Luo Yi leaped through the dimly orange lit tunnel, her boots pounded against the grimy water, causing it to sloshed and splashed against her pant leg. She quickened her pace until steps became leaps.

Her throat burned. She tried to swallow the tears and the sadness, burying it under cold indifference but her eye stung. It let out a bloody tear slide down her cheek before she desperately tried to swipe it away.

She should have known. She should just have used her old method if she wanted to do some good deed.

Instead of confronting humans like this, giving tips and guides from shadows were more effective. Humans never trust a vampire no matter how hard she just wanted to help.

But she couldn't blame them, if she were still a human, she would have done the same.

Yet it still hurt.

A good deed and what did she get in return?

Rejection.

She leaped up the stairs, two at a time and she came face to face with the previous stage of 'The Show'.

A good deed.

Why did she…?

Her steps faltered.

Why indeed?

Why did she care for humans? Why should she care for humans? She was a vampire now, humans were just food supply. She was the predator here, yet she was trying to side with humans.

Forget about her own selfishness, her own desire of wanting to blend with humans. She needed to let go of her past, she wasn't a detective anymore, not a part of the police force, who dedicated their lives to protect others.

She was a monster now, a devil who fed on human beings. All this time, why had she made it an absolute mission to protect these ungrateful humans?

She clenched her fists, tightening them until her knuckles cracked from indignation.

She was such a fool, protecting these humans. These ungrateful humans should just go and die! She had been clinging to her humanity and it made her weak!

Unexpectedly, she started to smile until it turned into a mad cackle. Her right eye blazed bright red, shone like the stone of ruby that had been polished, glinting with insanity and madness.

How could she forget? She now stood on the top of the food chain, instead of being pointed with guns like hunted animals, she should be the one putting her fangs in their throat, ripped them apart, drank their blood, and feast on their beating hearts!

The moment her mind was filled with those thoughts, she paused instantly. It terrified her more than how it startled her. Her mad cackle stopped abruptly. She turned cold at her own darkening heart.

She tried to force her smile down, one that was filled with madness. She tried to hold herself from complete resentment and insanity. When her smile dropped, she couldn't stop the bloody tears from flowing freely. Thick dark red liquid streamed down her cheek and dripped down her chin.

How could she think that way? Regret washed over her like the long slow waves on a shallow beach.

The only reason she chose to protect was because it kept her sane. It reminded her how she still had conscience when she fed on blood. It kept her living instead of commiting suicide.

Suicide had always been a taboo for her, and she never wanted to follow her father's footsteps.

She shook her head, trying to clear any unnecessary thoughts. She used the cuff of her long dark coat to wipe the bloody tears, resulting in smudging them more on her cheek, but she could care less about that.

She had to find Luca.

No.

She needed to find Luca.

Find him.

Check his condition.

Then asked him to bring all these humans to his pack, to Eden.

She rushed back out of the canvas tent and ran toward the back of the building, the largest skyscraper in the center of the town. She tried recalling the pathways and set out to curse her sense of directions.

Remembering the red metal door, she knew it was placed in the deepest part of this building. She leaped through the hallways and slammed into the emergency door, ignoring the littered and rotten dead bodies on the ground.

She kept going down and down, and there it was.

The red metal door.

However, when she reached the door, she noticed there was something strange about it.

It was slightly open.

The head of the dead raider she sucked dry was placed in between the gap, holding the door open. It was like someone had purposely placed him here, as if inviting her to enter.

Reaching for her katana, she clenched her hand and gripped the hilt tightly, preparing herself mentally and physically for any sudden attack.

She slipped her hand through the gap and opened the door. Sword placed in front of her, she stepped into the dark hallway.

And she was met with silence.

There was nothing left in here.

She looked frantically around. She rushed to the end of the hallway, pushing the door open, entering the room where Won Shik and Luca were before. There was nothing.

Baldy vampire wasn't here.

Luca wasn't here.

Even Won Shik was gone.

Hell, even the huge cage was missing.

Where the fuck were they?

Was she too late again?

Damn it!

She rushed out of the room, pulling the red metal door open and slammed it shut, ignoring how the force had crushed the dead raider's head in half.

Where might they be?

She stood in front of the red metal door, thinking. Her eye darted wildly with each passing second. She ran through the list of places they could be in her mind, checking off the ones she was going searched, before heading there.

Meanwhile, she never noticed how the security camera mounted high above the red metal door blinked to life. The red beeping light flickered on and off before the red light stayed on.

Wohoo Kudos to me for finishing another one in a short time(>y<)I hope you enjoy this change in her, how she might slowly darken from time to time, thank you for reading! Don't forget to vote and support for more(´∀`)
