Chapter 1

These last twelve years had been very productive for Minato. Not only in YGGDRASIL but also out in the real world as well. Well, productive may have been a bit too much since he had actually done only one thing of note.

He had orchestrated the death of his parents.

It was kinda scummy of him but his parents were the kind of scum that had far too much fun with the world being shit and normal people trying to survive it. They were the kind of people one could find in Chinese novels as the useless nobles created for the sole purpose of making the main character look good and everyone around him look dumb.

Did that make Minato a Chinese main character then? Or would he be considered a young master?

Anyway, he had killed them and that's all that mattered. Their deaths were actually quite easy, he had just swapped their medicine with some outdated ones. As far as the people were concerned, they had died due to neglecting to check the medicine they were taking properly.

After that a butler in their house, named Charles, became Minato's guardian until he was of age and kept the wealth of the family in order. The man was committed to his job and as far as Minato could see, the only bad thing about Charles was that he had worked for Minato's parents and even that could be considered a necessary evil to feed himself. The man had literally no evil bones in his body. A real nice guy, the kind that Minato thought that he would never see outside of a movie or comic book.

Anyway, he had more important concerns right now. Becoming a god.

He had spent twelve years playing YGGDRASIL, with some breaks obviously, and while he had not somehow found a way to turn himself level thousand through bullshits or had gotten his hands on all of the World Items he wanted, he had caused some important changes. One of them he quite literally hadn't intended to.

He had become the guild master of Ainz Ooal Gown.

He had some plans to take controls from Momonga later on, but all of those were thrown out of the window when that boned bastard decided that he wasn't 'worthy' of being the guild master and that Utgard Wotan, the name Minato used in the game, was far more suited to be the leader. Bastard was definitely running away from the responsibilities.

Speaking of the said bastard.

"I guess no one else is coming, Utgard-san." The undead Overlord said as an aura of sadness and depression appeared around him, not related to any of his skills.

"Well, at least HeroHero-san visited before the ending. Even with his failing health." Utgard tried to raise the Overlord's morale but he could see that it wasn't exactly working.

"I know that they have responsibilities in IRL but we have spent so much time together for this place. For our guild, I wish more would have come." Momonga said as he looked down at the table with his sadness at his comrades' absence clear for all to see.

"Maybe, but I think things will be better later on my friend." Utgard said with a smile, though it did not show on his avatar.

He liked Momonga. He was a hardworking man, not to mention a devoted one. In the last years when the YGGDRASIL was on decline, he was one of the few players who played frequently. He was the one who traveled all of the nine realms with Utgard in search of new and rare items. His only flaw was that he lacked a spine most of the time with people. He had a bad habit of being dragged around by other people's whims, which might be one of the reasons he never tried to dissuade the NPCs from world conquest in the canon timeline even though he had no interest in such things. Even so Utgard could easily say that Momonga was a great friend.

That's why what he was about to do made him sad.

"You should log out too." Utgard said to the shock of Momonga.

"Wha-What?! Why?! Utgard-san, you are planning to stay until the end don't you?!"

"That's because I am the guild master. It is a responsibility." Utgard responded calmly. "Not to mention I don't have work tomorrow, the boss gave me a day off." He continued as he used the lie about his work, Ainz Ooal Gown did not accept members without actual jobs in IRL after all.

"You have work tomorrow, you should go and get some proper sleep." Utgard said with a tone of finality to which Momonga couldn't say anything else.

"I understand, you are right. It wouldn't do well to immerse yourself too much into a game and forget about real life." Momonga said dejectedly. A sight that was far too sad for Utgard.

"How about we go to the treasury. You are gonna leave your belongings there anyway, and you'll also get to see Pandora's Actor." Utgard said to which Momonga perked up.

"Yeah, it would be nice to see him one last time." The skeleton mage said as he activated his ring to take him to treasury with Utgard following him with the same method.

As he appeared in the treasury, a notice came that his skills from 'Aurgelmir' racial class had resisted the poison. As he followed Momonga to the door, he could not help but admire his character's reflection on the black barrier.

Red hair like fire and muscles that one could only find in a fantasy anime, he was standing at a 215 centimes. Utgard Wotan, a Jotunn was his race and he was proud of it. He still remembered the info he read when he first started the Beta testing: A race of warriors that can even stand against gods. Talented in physical combat and magic, a true monster in battlefield. One of the giant races in Heteromorph classes, Jotunns were one of the stronger races in the game.

"With great sagacity it doth ascend gently from Earth to Heaven. Again it doth descend to Earth, and uniteth in itself the force from things superior and things inferior." With the last word of the password, the barrier disappeared and both Utgard and Momonga put their guild rings into their inventory. Knowing that getting into the mausoleum with them would trigger many traps.

In the hallway there were many glass cases, containing weapons and items that had once belonged to the other members of the guild. As many items disappeared from Momonga's avatar, they appeared on a new glass case, one that had a portrait of the Overlord next to it like the other cases that contained the gears of former members.

"I feel naked."

"You are naked." The skeleton mage looked down at himself and Utgard had to hold himself back from laughing. Which was a failed effort as both of them started to laugh with vigor.

"I'll miss you Momon."

"Yeah, hope we will see each other in another game." the skeleton mage said as they kept walking forward until they finally met their desired target.

Dressed in yellow military clothes with many medals and a trench coat over it, the being before them could have been a human, a human that might get stoned in certain countries but a human none the less. If it wasn't for his egg head with black holes for eyes and mouth.

"Is he as you remember him?"

"Unfortunately, yes. Damn me, what was I thinking while creating this living embodiment of eight grade syndrome." The skeleton mage grumbled to himself.

"Are you gonna change him?" Utgard tilted his head sideways, curious whether Momonga would cause a change in canon or not.

"No, he might be embarrassing but he is still my creation. Also the game is about to end so what's the harm. Not like he's gonna come to life." Skeleton mage laughed, not knowing how true that would be.

"Thank you for all these years, Utgard-san."

"Thank you too, Momon." Jotunn nodded as his friend logged out, leaving the guild master with guilt.

In the end he just could not risk it. He hadn't read the light novel much in his past life but he had a bad habit of going through wiki so he remembered things that didn't came up in the anime. The players in the past had killed each other, he didn't know why but he did not want to risk such a thing.

Well, at least Suzuki Satoru would get a rather nice check of cash soon. Just like many other members of their guild and his butler Charles. He was gonna be leaving the world anyway, so in his will he had left his company to Charles and some shares along with cash to his friends in the guild. Not like he was gonna need them where he was going.

With that thought, he walked out of the mausoleum and teleported back to the ninth floor.
