Summon My Mother

Invincible was honestly relieved that no one questioned or made a demand of him. If they had, he didn't know what he would do.

All these beings were stronger than him, even at his peak, he doubted he could enter their eyes.

Resting his chin on his palm, his eyes trained on Ariella and the Floor Guardians, pondering.

He could see what was going on. These fellows pledge loyalty to him but until he gives them a reason to willingly serve, everything will just be lip service.

However, he could see how devoted and eager they are to be of service to Ariella.

Before she said her identity was revealed, they didn't look at her but now she can't help but show a submissive attitude.

Had he been an ungrateful or even a narrow minded person, Invincible would have devised schemes to eliminate Areilla but he was not interested in acquiring power that could harm.

Even if he killed her, what is stopping the Floor Guardians from counterattacking? And could they stop them?

Because he is one of those Supreme Beings? That title doesn't mean anything without knowledge of what purpose it serves.

From his observations, Invincible realized three things. Firstly, Nazarick was by no means weak, something he already saw. However, the Floor Guardians while introducing themselves to Areilla, indirectly expose a secret — they owned the world Nazarick exists in.

Their method was what he thought of doing to Dominion, yet he lacked the power. He was currently just an Immortal King and was quite a distance from the Immortal Emperor.

He will need at least a high tier Immortal Emperor or even Immortal Venerable power to transport it into the Void Space.

Secondly, the Floor Guardians operate under a different system than immortal cultivation. Their power was unique but the strength was limited. It was a strange system of power. One he had never seen before.

Third and lastly, the Floor Guardians see him as a Supreme Being, someone of the same level of Ainz. Maybe not in terms of status but in power.

Turning his eyes to the screen, Invincible was curious why the Fourth and Eighth Floor's Guardian didn't appear. And for that matter, why can't he see the Eighth Floor? No information appeared when he tried.

The Staff of Ainz Ooal Gown had calmed down inside the Void. He was not sure when it stopped. Was it after he brought it out? Or was it when the Floor Guardians appeared?

Whatever it was he was thankful because he was using a lot of energy to suppress it and it was not backing down.

The item was really powerful, but just like the Floor Guardians, it lacked the explosive and destructive power of a true immortal item.

Now that he thinks of it, when he first saw Ainz, because of pressure and circumstances of coming back to life, he assumed he was a Half a Step Immortal Supreme. But that might be wrong.

If the information he gathered was correct, him as Immortal King could defeat Ainz with a single palm but if he missed, Ainz could end him with a single spell.

That's to say, the Floor Guardians are not his opponents. In the sense of abilities, they were stronger but in terms of power they fell short.

So does that mean Ainz is not my opponent? Ainz and the Floor Guardians had the same level of strength. But what would warrant him being called a Supreme Being?

Putting two and two together, Invincible wondered since a Supreme Being is far more noble and revered than gods, how could they die? And if they can't die, doesn't that mean Ainz is alive? He doesn't place Ainz on the level of Immortal Supreme but his abilities are unique, that they might as well be Grand Dao power. So the possibility of Ainz being alive is quite high.

So if a Supreme Being was around the level of an Immortal Supreme, it would be crazy to believe that they could die. Now it makes sense, no wonder he was given Nazarick without many strings attached, no wonder the Floor Guardians didn't ask about Ainz and were respectful to Areilla. They all are aware that Ainz isn't dead, but were told not to tell me.

It would not be a surprise if Areilla know of this as well. Interesting, even though I'm not a schemer, it seems experiencing death was not all bad, i'm seeing things in a different light.

Or this might be the result of walking a different path? You gain some, you lose some.

'Ainz is not dead. I wonder what he is planning. '

Eh? Looking inside the Void Space, the creature he captured was causing chaos. The trees and other animals he placed inside were all dead.

Invincible was not sure what creature it was, but he could tell it was rare. The fact he captured the creature in the first place was that it made his Dao Blood react. If it could make such a powerful bloodline react, it must be an extremely noble creature.

Frowning, Invincible wonder what to do. He couldn't accomplish his plan if this creature destroyed his fruits of labor. In fact he could just kill this creature, it was after all not a big deal if it reacted to his Dao Blood. He was not a beast master, so he would probably never get the answer he wanted.

Retrieving the creature, Invincible was surprised again. The creature was different from the one he placed inside. When he placed it inside it was a firebird, now it was a baby horse with blood red eyes. Its body radiated a dark and ominous aura.

Thinking for a moment, Invincible looked at Ariella, "Here, I don't know what this creature is but it shouldn't be normal. If you raise it right, it might be a worthy companion. Consider it a gift from me."

Areilla looked at the baby horse, and at Invincible with surprise. Areilla was happy as she could tell this was a powerful creature maybe not at the level of Dragons, but it was not for off.

She was not worried Invincible would harm her, as they have fought together for a while and understand each other a bit.

"Thank you. I will look after it well."

The baby horse looks around and trembles with fear and dread. All the creatures around it were too scary. It felt like it was in a den of beasts. It suddenly regretted leaving that prison. At least there it was the strongest.

Looking around it felt two passionate pairs of eyes on it.

One came from a woman in a tight leather suit that made it easy to move around. However something about her made its hair stand on end. It was like a giant beast was looking down at it, eyeing a tasty meal.

The other was the girl it saw with the Giver of Life, someone it felt it could serve, as an indirect way of serving Him. Thinking of this, it walks over and gently nudges Ariella.

"It seems to like you." Invincible said even though he was curious why it responds to Ariella that way, and struggles every time it's in his hands.

The Dao Blood was originally Ainz so it's not a stretch to say it reacted to Areilla because of who her father is. But if that's the case, it should have reacted to him as well, so it must be something else.

"Lady Ariella, if you need help with training your pet, I'm here at your service." Aura said with interest in her eyes, scaring the horse that it started trembling.

"It seems to fear you." Areilla said calming the horse down.

Demiurge frowned at the unpleasant sight of the horse. How could something so frail come under the heir of Nazarick? Wouldn't that be tarnishing the honor that the Supreme Beings and Lord Ainz have created? No this cannot happen, something must be done.

"Lady Ariella, Aura is the best beast tamer in Ainzland. With her, I'm sure that horse could reach its full potential in due time."

"Is that so? It is true, with my current power I have no need for a weak mount. Aura, I will leave it with you." Areilla thought it made sense. Even though she was no longer a horn snake, she still had the mindset of a beast. In her mind, only the strong get to live, while the weak become the food of the strong. In the past, she was like that. If not because of Ainz, she probably would still remain in the Desolate Domain, living in ignorance.

"Don't worry Lady Ariella, I will remake this horse into something worthy of the Supreme One's daughter, even if I have to break its bones to do so, I swear."

The horse passed out hearing that!

"Lord Invincible , Lady Areilla I will be taking my leave. I will train this horse into a fine steed." Aura grabbed the horse by its tail and left the Throne Room after bowing to Invincible and Areilla.

"I look forward to seeing that." Invincible nodded.

Demiurge pushed his glass up and looked at Invincible , "Lord Invincible, what is your first order of business? As long as you give us the word, it shall be done."

"As Floor Guardians, this we swear!" (Mare, Sebas & Cocytus)

Invincible nodded and became lost in thought. His original intention of coming to Nazarick was to make sure his power didnt get threatened or undermined but with the knowledge that Ainz is most likely alive, he could leave whenever he wanted without much worries. However, with all the resources of Nazarick in front of him, it would be a waste not to use it.

Other than the plan of rearing the gods as resources, which is easily converted to void energy, he was only lacking in one thing, knowledge! Power without knowledge is as useless as a sword without a wielder!

"I'm currently in a weakened state, I will need to utilize the resources of Nazarick to return to my peak but before that, I wish to know what is my role as a Supreme Being?" Invincible was itching to know.

All the Guardians frowned, and looked at each other. They didn't know how to answer this question, thankfully Demiurge responded, "My Lord, each of us have a different interpretation of the Supreme Being as we have different creators. However we all share a common idea that a Supreme Being is the highest amongst all beings. They might not necessarily be the strongest but in a set field they are unrivaled. Take my creator for example, Lord Ulbert. My creator is a Great Demon who can bring untold destruction that none can match. Because of that, my creator is called the Supreme Being of Disaster. Lord Ainz is the wisest in existence and the master of death, making the Supreme Being of Death and the Supreme One, the leader of the Supreme Beings. As for what your role is, only you can decide that. We are only meant to serve, not to force our will on our Lords."

Invincible cupped his chin in thought and nodded. Although this didn't clear up the fog in his mind, it pointed him into a direction.

Master of Death? It was like Ainz was not hiding at all. If he couldn't escape what he controlled, that title is pointless.

"Thank you Demiurge, that cleared some things up. Is there a location where I can read some books? I need to do some research before I give you my orders."

"My Lord , Sebas would be the best fit to guide you throughout Nazarick."

"Lord, I'm Sebas Tain, I'm in charge of all the servants inside the tomb. Feel free to ask me any question you may have." Sebas, the Iron Butler bowed down.

"Thank you Sebas."

Invincible followed Sebas, leaving the Throne Room. He had to say that the hallways were well furnished and beyond whatever he had seen. If the halls were this, what about the treasury?

He was looking forward to it.

I have asked myself many times why I adopted a human child as my own? The answer always seems to elude me. I have hated humans since the day we moved to this world, that's something that has not changed. Even as Lord Ainz asks us to change and treat humans with respect, I have only learned how to hide my disgust behind a smile. I wonder why my Father has sought for me to have such feelings towards humans? Although I have similar feelings towards others not from Nazarick, it's nothing compared to what I feel for humans.

Humans are truly a disgusting race. They will betray, steal or even kill those who have helped them. They had no loyalty, something I greatly hate.

That being said, why do I find myself gazing at the beautiful sleeping face of my daughter? Why was something so fragile, so pure and kind abandoned? Was it because I fell into a similar situation that I sought a companion who shared my pain? Is that why I overlook her race?

Although I don't know when, I have grown to love this girl. I have taught her so much, and learned just the same. Maybe this was the reason why Lord Ainz let me go? Because I have not truly grown? Because as the world changes and experiences new things I failed to advance with it?

"Mommy..don't leave." Another nightmare? Even after these years, does she still have these? If only I had the power to kill whatever was causing her this nightmare, unfortunately she doesn't recall much from her past aside from meeting me.

I cuddle her into my bosom, kissing her head. "I won't leave you, we will always be together." Her body relaxed and a smile appeared on her face.

"Sleep well my little angel." I looked at her once more, before leaving the room. The house that I bought after leaving Nazarick is a two story building with three bedrooms, a medium living area, bathroom and a kitchen. A decent size home for only two people.

Looking into the skies, I was once again amazed by a sky so pure and holy. It was something that no one could create. The wonders of nature are truly beautiful. The cold sweat made me smile slightly. Unfortunately such a perfect day had to be interrupted.

Leaning against the rail on the second floor, I spoke to no one in particular, "When are you going to show yourself? You have not hidden yourself well."

"Albedo, I miss you." Shalltear stepped out of the shadows and hugged me. She was crying. Did she miss me so much? Wasn't she happy that I was kicked out? Lord Ainz would be all hers.

I couldn't help but smile, I hugged her back, "I miss you too Shalltear, but why are you here? As a Guardian, you don't exactly have time to do as one please."

"I was ordered to take you back to Nazarick. Your punishment is over, though I think the others will still be angry at the fact you were thinking of killing the Supreme Beings. I'm still mad too." Shalltear escaped the hug and said clearly angry.

"Ordered? Have Lord Ainz returned? Or has the new Supreme Being arrived?" I looked at Shalltear with an uncomfortable feeling. True I wanted to kill the other Supreme Beings, but that was in order to secure Lord Momongas' status. If all the Supreme Beings return wouldn't Lord Ainz be threatened? Even if he wasn't, the NPCs will have split loyalty, something Nazarick cannot afford to have. I'm not sorry, I'm only sorry I got caught. If I have the chance to do it again, I would. Still I'm not sure even if we attack the weakest of the Supreme Beings we would have prevailed. They are called Supreme Beings for a reason. Lord Ainz even with the odds stacked against him prevailed against Shalltear, which meant the other Supreme Beings could do something similar.

"Lord Ainz has not returned. The new Supreme Being, Lord Invincible, has arrived, along with a big surprise." Shalltear looked at me with a smug but somewhat strained smile.

A question mark almost manifested above my head. What could be considered a surprise in Nazarick? Let alone a big one? "What is it? Stop trying to be mysterious."

Shalltear shook her head, "You have to see it yourself."

Why does she have to make this more complicated than it has to be? Still, I miss having her around. "Okay, I will take my daughter too, I can't leave her."

Shalltear's face almost collapses in disbelief as she asks to confirm, "You have a daughter? What's her name?"

With pride on my face, not that it has ever faded, I said, "Her name is Ainese. She is only five years old."

"Ainese you say? Incredible, Lord Ainz is truly incredible."

"What do you mean?" I tilted my head in confusion.
