Overlord: Skeleton Rising

*As an author, I have decided to give up on any ongoing fan fictions with the exception of my Overlord fan-fic. This is because I have come to a realisation that no matter what I do, this work relies on the work of others. I no longer feel much accomplishment in getting views or collections from these novels, so this is the end. I am sorry if I disappointed anyone, but this work is average; you can find better stuff very easily. This book will be update once a week since I genuinely enjoyed writing this book out of leisure. For now, I am working on a magical realism book. Perhaps I will find satisfaction in building something completely new, I hope so. ApproVal.* A skeleton awakens in the reserve tomb Of Ainz Ooal Gown, a base which seems to be doing well on its own. The skeleton wakes up in the armor of a lowly skeleton warrior and is immediately assigned to work in the tomb. With the lich no where to be found, the skeleton must survive in a new and hostile world. The story takes place in the anime world of Overlord. The protagonist is a skeleton warrior. The protagonist will not have their own unique system. I do not own Overlord or the cover. No harem.

Chapter 28: Thine Glory

A black white, the red blue. The hellish Heaven, the heavenly Hell. Things that do not coexist together tend to describe what life is. A badly mixed jar of paint, a broken tool; things that bring a hassle to individuals. But what of it? A tool can be fixed and paint can be mixed thoroughly. So what happens when death is life? How does one fix that?

An entity given life through death only knows death as life. So what is life on its own? A prelude to death. But death is life, so what is death? Answers come to the ones that asked, but sometimes such cryptic concepts are best left for the philosophers. Even so, in a world where tensions are every rising, what is the definite moral answer?

The grip of death, brings light to the damned. That is the blessing of peace, the ending of sorrows. Thine ends are but thine beginnings.

——————————-

Present:

Atlas watched as Demiurge faced off against the already injured Evil Eye, barely using any of his power. Evil Eye launched 2 magic spells at the Devil, unable to make him flinch. The tired and anxious Evil Eye was completely unable to cause any damage against her opponent. The power that the entity exerted before her was extremely powerful, so much that even she wanted to flee.

Atlas stood 10 metres away from Demiurge, awaiting any instructions.

Demiurge casted an unfamiliar type of magic, morphing his fingers into razor sharp claws. As he was about to inevitably execute the adventurer, an unexpected event occurred.

BOOM

An object fell from the sky right in between the two combatants, causing a small cloud of dust to appear from the scene. The dust settle after a shot moment, revealing a raven black knight, wielding two heavy swords. Floating down beside him, was a familiar lady wearing a brown cloak. Atlas instantly recognised the two figures, being Ainz and Narberal.

"Master..." Atlas whispered to himself.

"Who is my friend, and who is my foe?" The Ainz asked.

"Raven Black Hero. I am Evileye, of the Blue Rose!"

"As a fellow adamantite adventurer, I request we form a party!"

"Understood."

Demiurge greeted Ainz politely, as Ainz set the stage for the grand narrative.

"May I ask your name? My name is Jaldabaoth." Demiurge asked.

"Jaldabaoth? Alright. I am Momon."

"And Who is that that daemon skeleton near you?" Ainz asked again.

"My most powerful demon general." Demiurge responded.

"Its name?"

"I am Corvus." Atlas spoke.

Atlas turned to Narberal Who was standing besides Evileye and Ainz, sensing the overall depth of the situation.

[I see, Great Lord Ainz wants to establish this persona as a hero to increase His leverage in this kingdom. My lord is such a genius indeed!]

Atlas drew his sword and moved towards Demiurge, settling next to the demon.

"Is there any way that we don't have to fight?" Ainz asked.

"No."

The two powerful entities entered an unscripted battle, facing off against each other with power that dwarfed Atlas'. In that moment, Atlas knew that he served a mastermind; someone capable of crafting events that would cause a domino effect to occur in their favour. In this fight, Ainz will establish Momon as the most powerful adventurer in the land.

"Lady, May I ask your name?" Atlas asked to Narberal as she watched the fight.

"I am Nabe, an adventurer of Darkness." She spoke, letting out a very small grin.

Atlas disintegrated his sword, letting his right hand glow a bright red. The sword that had served him for so long was now too weak to continue to serve him.

"Goodbye my humble blade. For this battle, I must rebirth you." Atlas spoke.

The skeletal demon walked towards the two adventurers clenching his right fist as it flowed a deep crimson.

"Come to me, Order."

A black gavel materialised in his right hand, glowing a bright orange. The gavel started to morph into a sort of war hammer, but still looked like a one-handed weapon.

Narberal grinned in anticipation of what was to come, a fight with the one that had save her. She drew her sword and readied her own spell, preparing to put the most intense spells into practice.

"You challenge me?" Narberal chuckled.

"I do." Atlas responded.

"Don't fight him! He is on another level compare to us!" Evileye spoke.

"On another level to you." Narberal spoke.

"Let us battle."

Atlas dashed to the side, launching a volley of magic attacks.

"Fire ball! Shard missile! Torrential rain!"

The skeleton sprayed a cloud of heavy projectiles, moving in quickly towards the maid. Narberal quickly dodge out of the way, throwing Evileye to the side as she did so.

"You even managed to protect that vampire? How noble!" Atlas spoke.

"CHAIN LIGHTNING."

A violent line of electricity charged straight towards the skeleton, striking Atlas below his ribs, passing through the empty space under his ribs. The skeleton floated upwards as he shrugged off the attack, lifting his hammer to the sky; covering the sight of the moon.

"First sentence: 4 lashes."

A red whip appeared in the night sky, static as the clouds.

"Serve your sentence."

The whip started to move back and forth as it gathered momentum. Narberal watched as the whip moved, getting ready to avoid the strikes.

"First lash."

WHIP

The whip struck Narberal on the left leg, tripping her over right to the floor. She then stood back up as quickly as she fell down, shrugging off the damage.

"Second-"

"CHAIN DRAGON LIGHTNING!"

A set of dragon shaped lightning blasts started to make their way towards the skeleton, leaving him no time to react as he was already launching his own attack.

BOOM

The skeleton was thrown to the ground, completely stunned by the lightning damage he had just received.

"You managed to survive my lightning, Corvus." Narberal spoke.

"Perhaps we should get serious." Atlas said as he stood back up.

"Agreed."

The two combatants stood on opposite sides of the path, facing down each other.

"I will give you one strike, you may return with one of your own." Atlas spoke.

"One strike is all I need." Narberal laughed.

Atlas pointed his hammer towards Narberal, ready to launch his most lethal ability. In doing this, he hopes that the fame of Darkness will grow to unbelievable heights.

"Death Sentence."

A large black axe appeared in front of Narberal, swiftly approaching her with rapid speed.

SLASH

The axe buried itself in Narberal's shoulder, failing to kill her.

"No one has ever survived my death sentence, but I warn you, it has a rather powerful sting."

"AAAAGH!"

The axe disappeared, leaving behind the pain of one thousand cuts. The apparent damage was not much, but the feeling was indeed terrible. Narberal slowly recovered, readying her own spell

"Maximise Magic: DUAL CHAIN DRAGON LIGHTNING!"

Two powerful chains of draconian lightning flew forth towards the skeleton, engulfing him in electricity and damage. The lightning soon dissipated as the charge ran out, leaving behind a charred skeleton. The skeleton flinched back to motion soon after, slowly standing back up.

"Well this is the end of our meeting, my master seems to have finished, farewell Nabe." Atlas spoke as Ainz and Demiurge finished their fight.

"I hope we meet again soon." Narberal replied.

Demiurge and Atlas left the scene, leaving the two powerful entities behind with a shocked Evileye.

"You two must be heroes among heroes." Evileye spoke.

A Pillar Of Fire would soon come ablaze for all to see, bringing further chaos to the city.

And so began the second half of the main event.

Feel free to leave some feedback in the comments, I am not too satisfied with the fight scenes so far, I will be rethinking them a bit.

I hope you enjoyed this chapter.
