Jacob did not want to be associated with Bowen and Garrett, so he said to Timothy, "General Johnston, now that Mr. Maddox's son is all right, we should get going." Then, he turned around and wanted to leave. Since everything was settled, he thought there was no need for him to stay around any longer. 

As for how Edward would deal with Bowen and Garrett, he could not be bothered about it. 

Seeing that Jacob was about to leave, Bowen hastily stopped him and exclaimed, "Mr. Sullen, please wait! I have a question to ask, and I hope you can enlighten me."

"What is it?" Jacob was taken aback. 

"Mr. Sullen, since the mind-controlling parasite had entered Mr. Chester, why did the mastermind wait for more than a year before controlling his body? What is their intention?"
