Aerial training (1)

The fourth and fifth team finally stopped fighting. The Fifth team won by a land slide. They had dominated the sky and then defeated all three of the other teams beast without getting injured.

Leon looked at team five. He recognised one person, it was Abigail Sunset. She stood on her beast, in front of the other two members. She had a confident smile with her golden hair flowing. Under her was a giant Sunset Crow. It was easy to tell it was a king beast from the crown on its head.

Leon had seen that Abigail was the one leading the group. She had been giving commands and was the reason the team had such an overwhelming victory.

Abigail had her crow flow down. The other two were still celebrating. But soon followed after her. Abigail walked up to to her defeated opponents and said, "Good match." She then put her hand out for a handshake.

Leon looked to see Oren nodding. He was impressed by Abigail's attitude.

Abigail shook hands with the three and walked to the side to watch the next battle start. She sat on her sunset crow and petted as she watched.

Leon was impressed. She was Someone to look out for.

Oren took the center of the group again and spoke, "Now team two against three."

The two teams were ready and flew into the sky. Team three had Anastasia so he was hoping it was the team that won but seeing the members of team two he was sure team three was going to lose.

Team two was probably the strongest team on here. All three of them had strong auras and beasts. However what really made Leon hopeless about team there's victory was when one of the beast summoned by team two was the Winged Flame coffin.

Almost everyone around was surprised, Even Oren. Only Leon and Irene didn't seem that impressed.

The Winged Flame Coffin was a rare Fire beast. It was a human sized coffin made of flames. It flew in the sky with flaming wings on its back as it. The coffin itself wasn't a beast but the beast inside was. The coffin was similar to a turtle and its shell to the beast inside. The Winged Flame coffin was a six voidstar beast naturally so it was of the more impressive beasts here.

The fight had ended just like Leon had expected. Team three lost. Anastasia barely had a chance to do anything.

Oren announced the next match, "team one against team six."

It was finally Leon's turn. He looked at the two behind him and they nodded to say they understand the plan. Leon summoned the 'Dreamfire tiger' and the 'Purple Ice Serpent'.

The Chimera was now fine with being summoned in disguised form after seeing the Blood Angel. The Angel had attacked the Ifrit with a warning shot but when she saw the chimera she had pure intentions to kill.

The Chimera wasn't intimated but it knew sooner or later the angel would over take it if it wasn't summoned as much. So it compromised and allowed Leon to summon it.

The Chimera roared and jumped into the air with the black lotus supporting each claw. The lotus was made of a purple fire as a disguise. It then summoned a lotus to keep Leon in the air as well.

The Ice Serpent formed ice wings and flew up as well.

All the members had arrived. Team six had four members as well as Pace. The four were surprised to see only two people summon beasts. The other teams also watched. They quickly weighed the pros and cons of the strategy.

Abigail looked interested then shook her head after seeing Oren's face. He didn't look impressed.

"Even if team one wins they won't get as many points." Abigail said under breath.

Leon stood in the sky. He was that only person not on a beast. He looked much more vulnerable and open. He looked small between all the beasts. The other team had summoned three beasts and one of them was ridding with another.

Pace had summoned his StarFire Peng. The other two beasts were a Winged Flame wolf and a Flaming Rose Fairy. Two people sat on the Winged Flame wolf. The person with the Flaming Rose Fairy was being carried by the fairy with one hand. The fairy was holding his collar as he hung with his hands crossed. The summoner didn't looked fazed neither did the fairy.

Everyone saw this and thought it was quite awkward. Pace flew next to him and said something. The two conversed and the person was dropped by the Flaming Rose Fairy onto the StarFire Peng.

Leon stood on the Purple fire lotus with the tiger next to him. The snake also floated above him like a protective guardian. Upton and Haris were behind on a giant turtle. The turtle was floating in the air on a cloud. It opened its mouth and formed a bubble of water to protect the two.

Leon saw this and started fighting. He wouldn't have to care to much about them and just needed to focus on his opponents.

Both teams were ready and started the fight. With his beasts Leon moved in as well. He formed a bow of flames and started shooting flame arrows. The arrows were made of fake Vermillion flame he had formed using the Fire Heart. The flames were ten times more stronger then normal flames formed. Leon made them look weaker using Formless aura.

The dream Fire Tiger summoned the Purple lotus above it and quickly stunned the beasts here. It was weak and only effected the three beasts in front of it. The tiger knew it had to act weak so it wasn't going to end this quick.

It attacked the Flaming Rose Fairy. It clawed the fairy and retreated. The fairy snapped out of the mesmerized state. It formed a whip of a thorny vine and flame and started whipping it at the tiger. The tiger dodged and clawed the fairy again.

The two other beasts split. The Winged wolf flew for the turtle hole while Pace and the other flew to stop Leon.

"Leon I never got to see how strong you got. Let's see who will win between us."

"Pace, sorry you will be disappointed." Leon then had the lotus under his feet move. The Ice Serpent followed him. Leon was ending this quickly. The serpent knew what to do. It started shooting Frost rays.

The StarFire peng doged and responded with a fire Ray. Leon used the eruption rune when he came close enough and tackled the man sitting behind Pace.

Pace felt a little bad but was ruthless. This was a battle. He had the Peng slash its wing at Leon. Leon was cut in half and broke into flames. He had been replaced by a fire clone.

Pace finally noticed that the person sitting behind him was gone. He looked down and saw Leon falling with the other person knocked out.

He also dived down to catch up but Leon used eruption rune to explode forward. With the lead he had he reached near the ground. He formed fire wings and used them to stop himself from touching the floor and threw the person to the floor. He then used the wings to land and walked to the side casually.

His beasts also flew and followed him.

The other four were confused. They had seen Pace slash Leon when did he appear capture the person behind him.

Even the other teams were surprised. Only a few people had seen Leon capture the person.

Oren was impressed. Even he had to concentrate to see what happened. Leon had split into two when he used the eruption rune. The real Leon had used a popluar fire art called invisible Flame and disappeared. He then hid in the shadow of the clone and silently tackled the man behind Pace off the StarFire Peng. While the clone acted as a stand in and captured everyone's attention.

Oren could not help but marvel at such good use of misdirection. He then saw Leon walking to the side. "Leon that was a good use of technique but you need to work with your teammates more. They aren't just dead weight. A good leader would know how to make the best use of them. There was even a text book example earlier, The team leader of group five."

Abigail felt flattered. Hearing Oren talk about her. She held her head high as everyone looked in her direction.

"True, but it would only hinder the plan to make use of people with so little ability in a battle which I can end quickly."

"Ohh?" Oren was surprised by the response. Harris and Upton were insulted. They had an ugly look on their faces as they heard Leon.

"So Leon who do you think has the ability for you to have in your team?"

Leon looked around and then said, "No one. I could finish all my battles by my self faster then with the help of any one here." Leon had thought of Pace and Anastasia but in the end they still weren't strong enough to be of actual help in battle. If his battle strength was a bucket of water then theirs was a drop of water. If you added that drop to the bucket the water in the bucket would increase but it would be an unnoticeable amount.

Oren nodded, "You know their was Someone who had said the exact same thing you had said around a decade ago. But he had the strength to back up his words and led the Fire Continent to victory that competition. I don't know where he is now, he might have even died already since he liked doing things alone."

Oren smirked, "Out of respect for someone talented I'll give you a chance to prove yourself. I'll reform all the teams and have you compete again. This time if you can beat the other team before your teammates get a chance to do anything I'll double your score."

Leon smiled, "Now your talking, that's perfect. But what happens if I lose."

"If you lose I'll bring your score to a zero, simple right."

Leon smiled even brighter, "indeed."

Abigail who was listening in the side finally felt she could interrupt, "Teacher Oren, I think this is unfair, even if Leon were to win he would just be showing a lack of team work and shouldn't deserve a higher score."

"Abigail right? I'm sure you know that team work is much stronger then one person. But I'll tell you something, their is something above team work- Overwhelming power. If Leon can show me he has such power he no longer needs a team and so this test isn't meaningful for his type of person."

Abigail remaind silent for a while, then said "Thank you for the lesson Teacher Oren." She then waited to watch what would happened next.

"Now let's make the teams again." Oren snapped his finger and a flame appeared on the hands on everyone. "Find the people with a matching flame colour they will be your teammates."

Leon saw the in his hand was white. He looked around and looked for someone else with the same flame colour. As he was looking Abigail and him made eye contact. Leon saw her hand and saw the white flame.

Abigail saw Leon's Flame and smiled. She walked towards him happily. "I hope we can work together."

Leon didn't bother responding and looked for the other member in his team. He saw two other people with the white flame. One was Harris while the other was the person with that winged flame coffin.

As he looked around saw that there were four teams. There was a red, blue and green fire on each person's hand.

With Quick shuffling everyone formed their teams. Leon and his white team had four members while the other three had five members. Seeing the situation change so drastically, Leon knew Oren was messing with him and making it harder for him to pass. But he Leon didn't feel fazed.

"Team white vs team green, same rules as before, just now everyone can summon only one beast per person."

Leon's teammates were the first to intervene. Abigail added, "Teacher Oren everyone else has five members and we only have four so they all will be able to summon five beasts with just being abl to summon four."

Oren nodded, "So what's the problem?"

Abigail was going to continue when the guy with the Winged flaming coffin came and stopped her. "It doesn't matter if we can only summon four beasts since we have the three highest ranking members here." He then whispered, "Teacher Oren is clearly making the situation harder for Leon to win the bet."

Abigail had also seen through the change in rules, but still felt it was better to have five summoning beasts as it would make the battles much more easier to win. Abigail said sorry to Oren in response to the question and jumped on her King Sunset Crow.

Wick GuardianFlame, The guy with the Winged Flame Coffin, summoned the coffin and flew up while standing on it. Wick was from a branch clan of the Flameguard Clan Oren was from.

Harris hadn't been given a chance to summon his beast last time, This time he was going to go all out. He didn't like Leon, first from not going with his plan and second for insulting him. As a member of the Nightflame clan he wasn't hurt or really effected by the insult, since young he was taught to deal with other type of people but he still had to show that he was a competent summoner to continue in the competition. There were two ways to get ahead of the competition one was to get a higher score then others and when that fails make others get a lower score then you.
