"D-Damn! This is incredible! Broadcasting this battle could really boost my chances of landing that President position." Morgans said, unable to hide his excitement.
The people in that area, whether they were there in person or tuning in through a live broadcast, couldn't help but be stunned by the fierce intensity of the fight unfolding before them.
It was clear to them that if they were the ones in the battle, facing either of these powerful monsters would mean certain death.
Aboard the Moby Dick, Whitebeard couldn't help but grimace, a twinge of pain in his finger and palm becoming evident.
Despite the severe injury to his left palm, Whitebeard was far from defeated. Even though the lightning strikes were excruciatingly painful, he was still standing strong, ready to fight to the end.
"Naginata Rasetsu!" He shouted, a peculiar white bubble forming around his naginata.
With all his strength, he swung it towards Brontes, who was attacking from the right.
"ZliZli!"
In an instant, Brontes disappeared from his original spot, reappearing moments later with a spear made entirely of lightning.
He thrust it with lethal precision towards Whitebeard's shoulder.
"Thor's Spear!"
"Boom! Rumble!"
The clash was monumental. The air was filled with the sound of thunder as the Lightning Spear made contact with Whitebeard, unleashing a torrent of electricity.
However, Brontes's attempt to incapacitate Whitebeard barely made a mark.
The electrical onslaught was no more than a scratch to Whitebeard, who, in a swift motion, spun around and seized Brontes.
"Ah!"
"Boom!"
Whitebeard grabbed Brontes's head and slammed him onto the deck with such force that Brontes coughed up blood.
But Brontes was not so easily defeated; his body vanished from Whitebeard's iron grip, transforming into lightning that danced across Whitebeard's body.
"ZliZli!"
The lightening current then gathered at Whitebeard's chest, morphing into the figure of Brontes.
In a shocking turn, Brontes seemed to grow right out of Whitebeard's chest. It was a tactic Whitebeard had not anticipated, with Brontes attaching directly to his body before emerging from within in a surprising attack.
"Lightning Fist!"
Brontes shouted, his fist enveloped in both Armament Haki and lightning. He delivered a ferocious punch directly to Whitebeard's face.
"Bang!"
The impact resonated as Whitebeard's face absorbed the powerful blow. However, Whitebeard was quick to react, covering his face with Armament Haki to mitigate the damage.
Brontes's technique was reminiscent of Robin's Flower-Flower Fruit ability, which allowed him to project any part of his body anywhere, depending on how advanced his control over the ability was.
"ZliZli!"
The electrifying sound echoed as Brontes's lightning fist made contact.
Despite Whitebeard's use of Armament Haki, the proximity and the inherent conductivity of lightning made it impossible to fully defend against the attack.
The electricity enveloped Whitebeard's head, illuminating him like a light bulb in the dark.
The shock of the attack briefly stunned Whitebeard, but he quickly recovered, his body lighting up with energy. Plunging his naginata into the deck, he spread his arms wide and embraced Brontes in a powerful hug.
"Huuu!"
Whitebeard's voice, strong and determined, cut through the crackle of lightning, momentarily pausing it.
His face, slightly charred and filled with a deadly intent, stared directly at Brontes. His grip tightened around Brontes, rendering him immobile within his powerful embrace.
"Buzzzz!"
A high-pitched, vibrating roar filled the air as Whitebeard unleashed the full force of his Tremor-Tremor Fruit power.
A transparent circle of light enveloped them both, resembling an eggshell surrounding their bodies.
"Boom!"
With a formidable squeeze, Whitebeard caused Brontes's body to explode, effectively cutting him in half at the waist.
"ZliZli!"
"Pffff!"
Lightning flashed from the wound on Brontes's body, and he coughed up a mouthful of blood.
Clearly, Brontes was injured, but Whitebeard wasn't unscathed either. The impact of Brontes's punch had left its mark, with Whitebeard bleeding from his nose and mouth.
"Eight-Headed Lightning Dragon!" Brontes summoned with a roar, as lightning burst forth from him, forming a dragon with eight heads that roared towards the sky.
The lightning dragon enveloped Whitebeard, wrapping tightly around his massive frame.
"Crackle! Rumble!"
The lightning dragon then transformed into a ball of lightning, pulsating with endless electrical energy.
"ZliZli!"
The sound was like thousands of birds chirping at once, echoing throughout the Moby Dick.
The intense flash of light blinded everyone watching, forcing Morgans to lower his telescope in the overwhelming brightness.
"Boom!"
Moments later, a large hand tore through the lightning as if it were mere fabric, revealing Whitebeard emerging from within.
"ZliZli!"
Brontes reappeared as well, with the lightning dissipating around them, leaving only faint traces flickering on Whitebeard's body.
The battle was fierce, showcasing the incredible power and resilience of both combatants.
Whitebeard, looking a bit worse for wear with darkened patches marring his skin, and Brontes, continuously bleeding from the mouth, both displayed a striking similarity: the unwavering fighting spirit shining in their eyes.
Neither showed any signs of backing down, their resolve as firm as ever.
"Swoosh!"
With a swift motion, Whitebeard retrieved his naginata from the deck and surged forward, aiming a fierce slash at Brontes.
"Boom!"
In an instant, Brontes vanished from his position, leaving Whitebeard's naginata to smash into the empty deck where he had just stood.
"Lightning Chain!"
"ZliZli!"
Brontes appeared not far from Whitebeard, unleashing a torrent of lightning from his hands, resembling chains of pure electrical energy.
"Boom! Rumble!"
Whitebeard, undeterred, raised his arm and threw a punch, his power colliding with the onslaught of lightning.
The formidable force of the Tremor-Tremor Fruit tore through the air, twisting the lightning aside and sending a devastating shockwave towards Brontes, scattering his form once again.
"ZliZli!"
Brontes kept moving, relentlessly striking Whitebeard with lightning. Their exchange of powerful blows threatened to tear the Moby Dick apart.
Unbeknownst to them, a fish-man was secretly exerting his strength below, nudging the Moby Dick in a new direction.
Amidst the spectacular clash, Whitebeard's strategy became apparent. He stood steadfast in the center of the ship, enduring Brontes's assaults and focusing more on defense than offense.
Marco, observing from a distance, realized Whitebeard's deliberate effort to contain the battle within a certain area.
Whitebeard's tactic was clear: the Moby Dick had limited space, and letting the battle rage across it would inevitably endanger the Whitebeard Pirates stationed at the ship's rear.
By holding his ground at the bow, Whitebeard aimed to protect his crew, sacrificing his own well-being to keep the fight away from them and minimize collateral damage.
"Boom! Rumble!"
"Whitebeard, you've gotten old!" Brontes taunted, wielding his spear and launching a relentless barrage of attacks at Whitebeard.
"Who do you think you are to judge me?" Whitebeard retorted, clashing his naginata against Brontes's spear, the two locked in a fierce, back-and-forth struggle.
"You are different from before." Whitebeard observed, his voice carrying a serious tone.
"So?" Brontes replied, his laughter echoing amidst the chaos of their battle.
"Perhaps you're no longer fully human in a sense." Whitebeard mused.
"I know what you're thinking, but I am still human. It's just that it's been a while since I've fought with such freedom. You're the perfect opponent I've been waiting for a long time." Brontes responded, a smile playing on his lips.
"Gurararara! What an arrogant kid!" Whitebeard laughed, but his eyes betrayed a hint of concern.
Amidst the clashing and clanging of their weapons, Whitebeard noticed something alarming: Brontes's previously injured arm had healed completely, and his strength seemed to be increasing as the fight progressed.
This was an unwelcome development. It led Whitebeard to speculate that Brontes might have transcended the limits of normal humans, reaching an entirely new level of power.
Such a regenerative ability was something Whitebeard had only seen in one other individual, Kaido, yet Brontes wasn't a Zoan-type Devil Fruit user which made it even stranger.
The secrets lurking within Brontes's body now weighed heavily on Whitebeard's mind.
After a fierce and prolonged battle, the Moby Dick, propelled by the determined efforts below, finally reached the shore of an island.
