Chapter 1: Super Freaky Girl(office super)

*9:00am*

*Pearl's first work day*

(Narrator's version)

Pearl was having a quick look at the office when another employee like me walked up to me. She greeted her, showed her around and asked of her name in the end.

Shiver: Hi! I am Shiver and I'm your tour guide. Come with me and I'll show you around.

*Pearl followed*

Shiver: *pointing at the transparent room* How do you like your office?

Pearl: Well, someone can see through it easily but I think it's pretty lit though.

Shiver: *opens the door for me to enter* That's true.

Pearl: Thank you, that's very nice of you.

*Shiver nods*

Pearl: So I'll see you when I see you?

Shiver: *chuckles* I'll be back. I have 7 more new employees to show around within 35 minutes, that's 5 minutes each. *looks at her wristwatch* Ohh would you look at the time! I'm going to be late! *waves* Chao!

Pearl: *smiles* Chao!

*4 minutes later*

Pearl: Okay, let's see here *checks the papers on her table*, I have a meeting by 12pm sharp with the director and then nothing else. Well let have a quick walk around my office. This shouldn't take forever *giggles*

*6 minutes later*

Pearl: What's this? *removes the paper note on the wall* Hmm it says

Wow, who's this Jerry guy? Must be some mistake or something. Well, I'll find out later. I better put this in my pocket, just in case.

*19 minutes later*

I heard a knock on my door, mere looking at the glass wall, it was Shiver.

Pearl: *opens the door* Wow *to shiver*, you're really fast or should I say super.

Shiver: *chuckles* Well I wanted to spend some more quality time with you. I think I like you *pauses* Well not in that type of way. In a good way, a friendship way

Pearl:*confused* Well I didn't actually say anything bad but yeah, okay.

Shiver: So ummm…what are you going to do after work?

Pearl: Thinking of 'after work' by this time, it's just 9:24am. It's not even up to 12pm. Ooh and I have meeting with the director

Shiver: *amazed* Really?

Pearl: Yeah *shows her the paper schedule* See for yourself.

Shiver: Wow, that's really cool and I hope it won't be a bummer.

Pearl: *surprised* Why? Why do you say so?

Shiver:Sometimes he fires people on the day they got the job.

Pearl: *confused* But why hire them if you know that you're going to fire them at the end of that very day.

Shiver: No idea! *beckoning Pearl* Come closer, let me spill you a tiny secret.

Pearl: *comes close* Okay!

Shiver: I heard his father who owb the company never liked him one bit.

Pearl: *sadly* But that's not fair!

Shiver: Life ain't fair either. *changes the topic* Let's get you prepared for war *smirking*

Pearl: *sadly* Do you think he'll fire me?

Shiver: With the way he stared at you…

Pearl: *cuts in then gasps* …He stared at me?

Shiver: *touches Pearl's face* Yes but in a good way. *scratches her head* It's complicated. I don't think he'll love to fire a pretty babe like you but who knows, I mean he has fired a lot of women and less men these days.

Pearl: *worried* Okay.

Shiver: *raises Pearl's face* It's going to be okay, okay? *Pearl nods* Everything will be fine. Thank goodness he didn't leave a paper note in your office, that would have meant a different thing all together.

Pearl: *shaking* Is his name Jerry?

Shiver: *astonished* Yeah, like how did you know. *looks at Pearl and sees her shaking* Ohh no, don't tell me he left you those love poems!

Pearl: He did but why?

Shiver: Nobody knows. But hey, everything will be okay. I better stop telling you things before you freak out like Scooby Do when he sees a monster.

Pearl: Maybe I should resign….

Shiver: *cuts in* No, you're not going to resign. Just forget everything I told you and be of best behavior. Not to best but be moderate. Okay?

Pearl: Okay.

Shiver: *walks to the door* I'll be back with some cookies just don't do anything crazy while I'm gone.

Pearl: *whispers* You mean this company's cookies?

Shiver: Why yes! I was supposed to give you those when I toured you but it escaped my mind. I was going to give I to you anyway but I feel now is the perfect time, ayy?

Pearl: Thank you so much.

Shiver: *smiles* I'll be back, Cutie

*2 hours later*

Shiver: *opens the door gently* Sorry I came late. I bumped into Head of packaging, Williams. *hands her the cookies*

Pearl: *collects them* Thanks a lot. *looks at description* BLAY's cupcakes-a taste of Heaven in your mouth.

Shiver: You're welcome and sure is.

Pearl: *gives her some cookies* Have some

Shiver: Ohh thanks that's very nice of you *accepts them*

*3 minutes later*

Shiver: *looks at her wristwatch* Pearl I think you should get going, you're meeting with the director….

Pearl: *panicking* Right, right, right. I have to get going *trembles*

Shiver: *holds Pearl's hands* Hey look at me

*Trembling Pearl looks at Shiver*

Shiver: Good, now repeat after me, 'I am a boss lady'.

*At M.D's Office*

A gentle knock was heard on Jerry's door. Jerry reached for it and opened it, welcoming Pearl while on the phone, all this time smiling. Pearl felt relieved a little bit.

Jerry: Good Morning My Lady.

Pearl: *confused* Good Morning Sir.

Jerry: *laughs and hangs up the phone* My name is Jerry Blay, the managing director of BLAY. Please do have a seat.

Pearl: *stammers* O..o..okay sir. Noted sir.

Jerry: *smiling* Congrats on your new job, lovely lady. I hope you could be of good use.

Pearl: *a little bit pissed* Thank you sir. Yes sir.

Pearl: *stammers* O..o..okay siiirr… I mean Jerry *smiles a little bit*

Jerry: *Laughs* Don't worry, I won't fire you.

Pearl: *stammers* Thank you Jerry.

Jerry: Well, don't thank me now. And that reminds me, did you see anything unusual in your office today?

Pearl: *tries to remember* Not at all Jerry.

Jerry: *with a serious face* Nothing like papers or a note. More of a note.

Pearl: *remembers the love note and also what Shiver told her* I did see some papers about schedules especially today's schedule and a note too.

Jerry: What was in the note?

Pearl: *annoyed* A love poem written by Jerry to Pearl

Jerry: *amazed by her boldness* What did it say? I believe you brought it.

Pearl: *boldy* Well yes I did.

Jerry: Read it, sister!

Pearl: *not wanting to be fired as soon as possible*

Pearl: *confused* Umm Mr Jerry, aren't we supposed to be discussing about work?

Pearl: *gasping for air* It was a test all along.

Jerry: Yes and are you okay? *notices her finding it difficult to breath*

Pearl: Excuse me, Jerry. *walks towards the door, opens it and looks for a nearby window*

*After exactly 2 minutes*

Pearl: *knocks and enters Jerry's Office* I'm back Jerry.

Jerry: *concerned* Are you okay now?

Pearl: *smiles* Yes, I am and thank you for asking.

Jerry: Alright. It's business time!

*3 hours later*

Jerry: I had a great a day today. What about you Pearl?

Pearl: *happy* Oh me too. I thought I would lose my job today.

Jerry: *chuckles* But you didn't.

Pearl: Yes. Thank you alot, Jerry.

Jerry: Hey don't thank me *smiling*, thank yourself. You got the brains, Pearl.

*12 minutes of chatting and walking*

Pearl: I should better head home now. It's almost 5pm.

Jerry: Ooh wait up. Let me assign a driver to you.

Pearl: *surprised* Really?

Jerry: Yes Pearl *contacts the driver*

*After 42 seconds, the driver arrives*

Jerry: See you tomorrow, Pearl.

Pearl: Thank you Jerry

Shiver: *runs as fast as she can, yelling Pearl's name* Pearl! Pearl!! Pearl!!!

Pearl: *to the driver* Please wait. *opens the door and runs to meet Shiver* Hey, what's wrong?

Shiver: *panting* I didn't see you after 12pm and here you are leaving me without saying goodbye?

Pearl: *hugs her* I'm sorry about that.

Shiver: It's alright. What's up with that fancy ride over there *pointing at Pearl's driver*

Pearl: Ohh that's my driver

Shiver: *amazed* Wow, you didn't tell you were from a multi-billionaire family.

Pearl: *laughs* Jerry assigned a driver to me.

Shiver: Wow, wow, wow, you must have passed his test.

Pearl: *surprised* How did you know it was a test?

Shiver: 97% of them make love advances to him after reading his notes *Pearl stares at Shiver deeply*Hey, what? I heard about that today. The news of you still having your job is all over the company.

Pearl: Wow, that's really cool. Well, let's go home. I mean where are you heading to?

Shiver: *winks at Pearl* Let's go shopping. I have my credit card with me.

Pearl: *excited* Me too. Let's go. *to the driver* Please, take us to the nearest mall in this City.

Shiver: No take us to, BAY's mall.

Pearl: Alright, let's go.
