Pt 5: My mission

"How do... you know my.. name?" I stutter to say, looking eye to eye with the creature in front of me. She was scary even inches closer.

Her hair needed a wash; you could see pieces of old food crumbs in between her hair. Her teeth were black. When was the last time she brushed her teeth? Just thinking very hard on her feature made my stomach rumble from disgust.

I couldn't tell if my facial expression expressed what I was thinking, but the witch looked stunned. She took a step back, and she was yet glowing in mid-air. The floor covered with smoke, her black robe disappeared to a beautiful Lilac color. She came out to be beautiful she had golden hair and stunning eyes. The witch is stunning. "That's much better." The witch said.

I gazed at her until she said something that knocked me off speechless. "Sorry Ambrosia, it must confuse you. I'll explain everything I did but let me show you something first." She grabbed my hand and led me to walk down the stairs.

Walking down the stairs with the witch was awkward, especially in silence. A lot of questions were boiling up inside my head, and a few words merely cleared my mind.

"How did you do that?" was all I could say. She broke off to a huge story afterward.

"Ambrosia, there was once a legend of your family. They were the strongest of witches. Your father was the king of warlocks and as for your mother, they embarked her with powerful magic no one has seen before. She'd do anything to protect you and your sister."

I get startled by the word witch. My mind goes in different places. I've seen this before in my dreams. I couldn't entirely tell if this was real or another dream. So I go forward and pinch myself on the arm. I winced a little, and the witch stared at me wide-eyed.

"This is real." She laughed at me. We walk side by side down the steps, locking eyes between the corridors of the books as she continues the story.

"The one you live with now is not your mom. My name is Sirena your mother sent me to watch after you and when it was time, I was to find you and train you."

I began to feel a sudden change to my emotions. I couldn't help but cry, I felt my heart shatter. Every inch of my body ached. Tears dreaded my cheeks, and I felt betrayed, lied to. I looked at her with shock and began to ask a question, "What are you saying, Trina the one I lived with all my life isn't my mother?"

"I'm sorry but she's not your mother. Your mother asked Trina to adopt you for you could live a normal life." She sighed when she saw the look of disapproval in my face.

"Your mother wanted to protect you from magic. Ambrosia, you are a powerful, strong enough and beautiful young lady. When I know you're ready and soon you will too, I'll take you to your mother."

I take a step back, I couldn't continue walking there was no point anymore. There's no possible way I'm different. I think about my best friend, Lilah. A bunch of questions start roaming inside of my head.

Is she normal? Can she be a mythical creature as well? Who took her? Is it evil people from earth? Or people from the other place like the witch said?

I wish she was here for I could talk to her. She would calm me down. She would always tell me "Amity your crazy stop thinking negative."

I try my best to be in her shoes what would Lilah do?

I didn't notice how long I was stuck in the same spot. But when I did, I couldn't feel my legs. I look at her without any words left to say and begin to walk ahead.

I study the corridor again, every book and every thought. I never understood the reason why I had a liking to books. But when it came to the smell of old, ancient books it gave me joy.

We finally arrived at the basement, Jesus I thought only in my dreams it was that far of a walk.

When I tell you my whole body ached, it felt like it wasn't mine. As if a ghost taunted my soul and I was the one left exposed.Scary right! I thought so too. But back to my book.

The room was dark. The only fragments I can make was the speck of dust roaming around.

I turn my back thinking Sirena was behind me but she wasn't. And the staircase was gone like it never existed. I'm now left with a dark room all by myself and no place to go. For some reason, I try my best to bend down on the floor to find some object. But I fail miserably when I'm being tapped.

"You're so silly." Sirena chuckles and the room was lit with a light pink all around.

My mind flickered on, as if by turning on the lights it turned on my brain. Every memory I never thought I had came flashing all at once.

Sirena helping my birth mother give birth. Wait! My birth mother. She looks so beautiful. She looks like me, well I look like her. She had every feature I have. We could practically be twins.

Another image came disturbing the other. Sirena reading me a book when I was 6. I had smile little hands laying on the pink couch.

Another from when I was reading the book and making my hands glow different colors. A black car magically appeared when my hands stopped glowing. I remember this cat, his name is Domo. How much that cat looked out for me.

He looked a lot like the cat I have at home. He even had the exact same name. I think that's my cat!

I couldn't stop thinking about home, about my sister, Trina. How can my life change in just a few seconds. I just couldn't believe it.

All the images start flashing faster and faster knocking me off my feet, into a deep sleep.

"Ambrosia are you alright?" Sirena adds as she bends down to comfort me.

"Yes! I just hate when It all comes back so fast." I say furious. I get up from the floor feeling nauseous. "I just don't get why I forget everything when I leave the house?"

I walk towards my fluffy sofa and sit. It's a very hard transformation coming to my room and having my memory back. My brain hurts, my insides hurt. Sitting on my favorite sofa helps, I put a spell to help me simmer down whenever I sit. It's only useful in times like this.

"Ambrosia, I'm glad your back we have major problems." Sirena looks my way in terror and walks out the room.

Meow...

"Domo, did you follow me again?"

"I would rather prefer walking home, and your magically here. So I think you followed me." He causally rumbles around my leg purring and plopped on my feet.

I huffed at his sassy reply and got up, causing him to jump. "Ha, that's what you get." I snickered.

Okay stop fooling around Amity! We all know how Domo gets. I quickly walk to my bathroom and take a fast shower and change to my regular gear of clothes.

Once I'm freshly cleaned I walk back up the steps meeting with Sirena in the dinning room.

I take the time to think, since the walk is very long.

Every since my mother gave birth to me in this cottage, she cursed me to forget once I left the premises. It gets harder and harder each time.

I've tried casting a spell of remembrance but it failed. I remember when I left and went back home to Trina I had a coma for two weeks.

Another time I've tried a simple procedure of writing it down in my diary. But the moment I open it as a daily routine it's blank, it disappeared.

Years after I gave up trying. I'm finally on the top and open the door to the dinning room.

"We need to speak of a major decision." Serena's voice stiffened causing goose bumps form in the back of my neck.

She causally motions her hand to the chair indicating me to sit and get comfortable. Usually when we have talks like this it's a serious matter and it'll take long.  Knowing her so well I put on some comfortable clothing. Regular comfy pants and a t-shirt that has a logo "Baddest witch" across the front.

Don't laugh but it's  my favorite shirt to where when I'm here. "Ambrosia are you listening?" Sirena yells, making me snap back to reality.

"Yes, yes of course. You were just about to begin." I add Smirking just a little.

Sirena sighs to my response. "You never listen. This is serious Ambrosia, because this is all going to land on you."

I sat back getting deep into the chair. "Yes, continue I'm all ears." I said trying my best tone of voice.

While Sirena and I stared at each other she finally began her speech.

The way my eyes lit up was incredible I couldn't believe what my life has become. I've only been here three times and so many things my mom has hidden from me. So many Sirena has kept from me.

"I'M WHAT? I HAVE TO GO BACK TO THE DIMENSION BECAUSE IT'S TIME!" I couldn't keep my anger down. All my life has been perfect I had a loving mother, a loving sister, a best friend. Now the universe changed.

My mother isn't my mother. They token my best friend to the dimension. And now I have to go back to my real home to save the world from collapsing. I couldn't believe it.

I huffed and puffed to the very moment I got up and stomped the floor. Sirena looked sad from the expression on her face. But I didn't want to stay in the same room as her so I left.

I walked, more as I sprinted back to my room. Tears and tears uncontrollably ran down my face as I got closer to my bedroom door. Once I was there everything Sirena said echoed in my head.

"You can't stay in Smith way."

"You're mother needs you in Draglemire."

"You are strong Ambrosia, you have powerful magic and needs to be useful."

"Once you go, you won't be able to come back."

"Everyone here will forget about you. It will be as if you never existed."

If I leave I can't come back. Impossible I can't leave I don't want to leave. What about my sister will she forget about me. My poor sister. How much she means the world to me.

There's no possible way I'll ever leave. By now I was laying on my love couch, Domo on my chest purring. "Domo, we need to escape. We need to cast a spell to remember."

Domo woke up immediately and starred into my eyes. "I thought you would never ask, come with me." He said enthusiastically. His small little figure walking into a hidden passage way.

Looking down to a small cat is humorous. His tail curves as he leads the way. The hallway is blue and all types of symbols on the walls. Every symbol sent a vibrant energy into my body.

If I was just a normal being it would feel weird and crazy. But it wasn't to me, the energy felt soothing and peaceful. Domo came to a holt in front of a round doorway.

He looked at me with sparkling eyes. "I can't open it you have the power too." He explained to me.

"I have what?" I look at him and back up to the door. Before he continued I felt the power to put my hands onto the door and a few seconds later the door was shaking.

As startled as I got I jumped and stepped back letting the door creak open. "You wanted to escape and still remember. Here you go this door is your key."
