Pt 3: who’s there

...I was away for two weeks. I didn't like the fact of leaving my hometown and leaving the only friend I had, but apart from everything I loved seeing my dad. It's been hard for my family, especially for me. When my mom found out my dad was having an affair with some other random lady, My Mom quickly packed all his stuff and asked him to move out.

This happened two years ago, and I would always spend two weeks with my Dad and two weeks with my mom because even though the circumstances I was always daddy's little girl. The only thing I didn't like was that my dad lived 2 hours away...

8:30 pm

Where am I?

"You are inside of a cave."

Who's there?

And quickly everything became at sea. My eyes were a bit rusty as if I just woken up. When my eyes settled down, I could identify what looked like a dungeon.

I wasn't chained up, but I was sitting down on a chair. Perfectly groomed with someone else's clothes. He touched me. I take a step forward and whoever was speaking before was no longer here. Further ahead I could see three paths, the first one looked a little twisted, the middle was covered with bones, and lastly the third looked pleasant.

"I preferred keeping you safe rather than touching you." He said.

You sound familiar were you the one speaking inside my head?

"Yes, Take the first one and I'll answer all the questions you have." the voice said. I adjusted myself thinking twice if I should listen. But as curious as I am, I began walking towards the first path. When I enter the pathway there are other long passages to take. And suddenly I feel like this whole place is just a maze trying to trick me into something.

I begin to speak, what if your lying and just want to kill me? And how are you able to speak and I'm only able to speak through my mind?

"For a girl, you tend to talk a lot."

I..."just like to know what I'm dealing with, hey how'd you do that"

"It's very simple." And the person that's been speaking to me appeared behind the shadows.

He has a head that's characterized by a short face with long and smooth metallic horns that's set back from his nose and eyebrows, as well as the neck frills that decorated both sides of his neck. From his mouth and nostrils descended four pairs of long, muscular spines that feature whiskers.

His eyes gave them the appearance of shiny, liquid gold. He has his facial features that included a pointed tongue and small cheek horns that grew sideways. His wings were kept closed upright over his back.

It wasn't a person at all it was a dragon. He has a scary-looking feature that almost nearly knocked me off my feet. I stuttered to get the right words but he, took it right of my mouth.

"I didn't want to show my face before because I thought you would be scared." The sad dragon said.

We were inside of a long, gigantic cave. Where I was a few steps away from the dragon. It wasn't a bad home environment it was cozy, not too hot and not too cold kind of way. It surprised me how all these years a dragon was hidden inside a cave near my precious home. Which had my mind going in circles. "You had questions?" He joked.

"Yes, I have a ton. Where are we really? Are we still at my precious home, California? How are you here in front of me?" and before I could continue on, he let out a long sigh that made me stop speaking. I could see the way his talons moved that scared me to walk a few steps back. And before I knew it, he relaxed and took a long step back and laid down on the pavement. And drove himself to a story...

It was long ago... Where this village used to be peaceful. I wasn't the only dragon here that is. I had a loving mother and father; I had a sister we were twins I should say. We fought together to protect our castle, to protect our own king and queen. Over the years it has changed, and my duty is to achieve our great one and to protect our queen. I was the queen's dragon. The Queen was married to a King. The king had a dragon that was evil. He made enemies and the Queen took her dragon and left far away. The Queen was named Lilah.

He snapped back to reality and stared at me after he said my name. "Lilah, long ago you were the queen and I was your dragon."

From where I stand there was a boulder clenching inside my shoes, and I could feel the stinging on my feet. I couldn't keep still from the moment he finished speaking. I tugged at my corset looking down at the outfit he dressed me in. And I couldn't help but think that I'm not home anymore.

I'm starting to get annoyed by looking at my outfit and manage to look up at him. He was tense, but barely keeping eye contact with me. I mingle with my thoughts to find a way of courage to walk or to even speak. When suddenly he's staring at me. His eyes all so green like and a grin stretching all so far.

His face gave me a chance to smile. He looked innocent if he wanted to hurt me, he would have done so already. If he's right about me being a Queen and he's my dragon then he has a lot of explaining to do. I take all my strength into walking until we have no access to breathing. I get so close to him that I was able to notice the big scratches he had around his body.

He stretched out his wings and I could see more clearly how damaged it was. His broad like wings started from his shoulders and extended all the way to his long tail. There was a wound of multiple arrows slicing down his wing.

"It doesn't hurt as much, I heal quickly. I won't be able to fly for a couple of weeks." He says closing his wings back to his form. "Come I want to show you something."

He looked down at me one last time and begins to walk the other direction. From his big paws and my small legs, I'll have to run. But from the looks of it, he's keeping pace with me. He leads me to a hallway, where the end of it is glowing. "Are you ever going to tell me your name?" I patronized.

"Yes, my name is very hard to say but it is Ceikenth. Pronounced as (Kai-ken)." He jokes, taking no steps at all.

"Nice to meet you, kai-ken." I recoil back. He looks down and smiles a little but fades away as if not want to be seen.

"Lilah I just want to tell you; this place is far different from your home. And before I could let you wander around freely there are a few things I have to teach you." He grunts.

We keep walking in the same direction, and I could see the light coming closer. The cave didn't look bad it had torches hanging on the sides making the cave look more presentable, the floor was rocky and bumpy making me stumble a couple of times, and Ceikenth who made the picture charming and beautiful.

I think back to the forest, where I was sitting on the bench waiting for Amity to come. How her face must have looked when I wasn't there. What she might have thought had happened to me. If she grabbed my phone just in case when I come back, she'll have it for me.

I can't stop thinking of the way my mom would react to me missing, or how Jamie is left all alone. Or the fact of my mom isnt our mom that she adopted us. I just can't seem to put anything together. How am I queen, and my partner and crime is a dragon? I can't put it together.

"What are you thinking about?" He questions.

Snapping back to reality I realize we had held to a stop. If we take one more step, we would be stepping into the light. "Nothing." I murmured. "What were you going to show me?"

He didn't ask any more questions and just stepped out into the light, as I followed behind.

It was painted right in front of me. The villages, The huge castle, the animals, the people, all of it. I was amazed. It smelled peaceful, fresh. Everything that I saw gave me a quick rush as if I was home at last. Looking from the point I was standing I think I was inside a volcano. It made sense for why Ceikenth would hide inside a volcano no one would dare to enter.

Not wanting to disappoint him I walked back inside. I start walking to the long path back to the center of it all. Once I arrived, I sat on the boulder. He was staring at me and as was I. "Are you hungry my Queen?" My eyes widen and shocked by the question I didn't realize when the last time I had something in my stomach. I stared at him and back to my stomach, and just nod.

He left and I was in the room alone. I looked around to see if he had anything useful and I found the clothes I was wearing back home. Next to it was a weird looking blanket and a brush. I changed back to my familiar outfit, took the brush and brushed out my hair. Finally, I took hold of the blanket and drifted off to sleep.
