CHAPTER 19: Outdoor Drill & Greed

(Part 4)

"Flora!" Christina, who had been focused on the monster before her, turned around at the sound of Flora's scream. Her expression turned to distinct horror when she spotted Flora, moments away from falling off the crumbling cliff edge.

"Eek! H-Help me...!" Flora glanced around for something to grab onto when she locked eyes with me. As I and Roanna saw the whole events unfolding in front of our eyes.

"Roanna, wait here for me and help other students in defeating the monsters," I ordered Roanna as I dropped my sword on the ground, and made a run towards Flora.

"O-okay. But promise me you will be fine." Roanna shouted back in concern. "Of course!" I replied to her with a shout of my own, then I jumped off the cliff, as Flora's body had nearly fallen from sight.

In just a second of free fall, my body reached near Flora. I extended my arm out and grabbed Flora's hand, which had been trying to grasp any support in thin air.

As I grabbed her hand, mine and her eyes met once more in midair. Flora's eyes were teary with relief, but it was still too early to relax. Without wasting any time, I yanked Flora towards myself by the hand I had grabbed. Then, I rotated our bodies around in the air.

"Kya!" A dainty squeal of surprise could be heard just as I used the momentum of my turn to throw Flora back up the cliff with all of my abnormal strength.

"Kyaa!" Flora's body landed at the top of the cliff with a thump.

A few seconds later, I manipulated the winds to stop my fall. In just a few seconds, I stopped falling. After which I again used the wind manipulation and started flying towards the cliff while enjoying the scenery below me.

Then just a few feet before the edge of the cliff, I stopped flying and grabbed hold of the edge of the cliff. So, the other students would think, I have just climbed back up.

Then, I pulled my face up to see the situation. I saw Roanna slapping Stewart and then Alphonse on their faces, with as much force she could muster. The force behind the slaps was so much that it made Steward and Alphonse's faces fall to the ground. All of the students look at this with open mouths.

"You, shameless cowards. You call yourselves honorable nobles and don't even know how to face the consequences of your action. Instead, you want to shift all the blame for your action to Rio. And you, Alphonse, wasn't it Rio, the one who saved your life just a few hours ago." Roanna shouted in rage as tears started to roll down her eyes.

Seeing this, I quickly climbed up the cliff and made my way toward her. "Hey, Roanna. What happened? Who made you cry? And why did you slap these pieces of shits?" I said while walking towards her.

On seeing me alive, everyone has their eyes open wide. Flora and Christina have relief in their eyes, while one female and two male students bow down their faces in shame. As for Alphonse and Steward, both of them were still kissing the ground.

Seeing this scene, I understand what happened. Steward and Alphonse must have tried to frame me as the one who pushed Flora off the cliff. Which must have made Roanna angry, so she slapped both of them.

"*Sob* R-Rio!" Roanna shouted on seeing me alive, walking towards her. Then she made a run towards me and gave me her signature bone-crushing hug, all the while the tears of happiness rolled down her red eyes.

"Hey. Why are you crying? Look, I am back just as I promised you before." I said while patting her back.

"I-I think, you didn't make it." She said in between her sobbing. "How is it possible? Didn't I promise you that I will be back in a minute? How can I break my promise? So, please stop crying. Otherwise, your father will be angry knowing that you were crying because of me." I consoled her, which worked as she stopped crying.

Then, I asked her, what happened in my absence. To which she told me everything, which went exactly as described in the light novel, the only difference was Roanna slapping Stewards and Alphonse, and Christina and Flora defending my name. The latter surprised me.

After hearing everything, I looked at Stewart and Alphonse, said the two of them, who have already regained their bearing and are looking at Roanna with anger hidden in their eyes, "Well, what can I say? You didn't disappoint me. Now, there is a conflict between you and me."

"Sigh, what a hassle. I am sure, both of your fathers will try to silence me and Roanna, to shift the charges on my name. So, I can only leave this Kingdom to avoid all this conflict with your family." I said with a sigh, in a loud enough sound, to let everyone hear what I am talking about. Especially Christina and Flora.

Then while looking at Roanna, who is in my arms, I said, "Roanna, looks like your wish has finally come true. I am leaving the kingdom before time, to go on a journey to my homeland."

At this, she looked at my face with her red eyes, as she said, "And I am coming with you?"

"Of course, even your parents have permitted you. So, who am I to stop? Let's go, but first, we have to solve some more monsters." I said while looking on the opposite side of the cliff, deep into the jungle as I feel, two Minotaurs coming towards us.

"What do you mean? We have already finished every single one of them" Christina asks me with confusion on her face.

"Not everyone. Try and feel, the ground is vibrating, meaning something big is coming towards us." I said as the ground underneath us started to vibrate even more as the Minotaurs reached near us.
