Midtown Hospital, MRI room.
Yuri was carefully observing the results of the tests that had just been printed out a short while ago, while Captain Cold and Wally waited nervously on the sidelines.
By now, Yuri had taken on the form of Grey Matter and was standing in a chair outside the MRI room.
Not far around the trio, a number of doctors and nurses had gathered.
Their eyes were all focused on Yuri's body.
"Look guys, that creature is so strange, it almost looks like a frog walking upright."
A female nurse pointed at Yuri and quietly told the nurse beside her.
"Yeah, yeah, it doesn't look like an earthly species at all, that's an alien creature, isn't it? It must be an alien creature." The nurse next to her nodded vigorously in agreement.
The two spoke in very low voices, afraid of being overheard.
The female nurses were talking about much the same thing, while the doctor's side was not quite as concerned as they were.
"Chief, that's Leonard Snart beside that strange creature, that's Captain Cold right, so what he's holding would be?..."
A young doctor whispered asking the oldest of them.
"Hmm." The chief doctor hummed and said calmly, "It's an MRI photo of Lisa Snart."
Upon receiving confirmation, the young doctor became even more nervous, dense beads of sweat seeping from his forehead.
"Do you think they'll see a problem?"
The chief doctor sighed and closed his eyes slightly, "Captain Cold takes his sister very seriously, he wouldn't just let anyone interfere with his sister's treatment unless that person had real skills."
"It's sure to see."
At those words, the young doctor was shocked and exclaimed, "If Captain Cold finds out about that, he will definitely kill us!"
The chief doctor immediately covered his mouth, held out his index finger in a "shhh" gesture and said, "Captain Cold is no longer a criminal, he's just an ordinary citizen now, he won't do anything to us."
"Do you really believe they've changed for the better? Those rogues? Have you forgotten that Pied Piper killed his own parents not long ago?"
He wiped the sweat from his forehead with his sleeve and said, "It's all right, Kid Flash is with them, he won't let Captain Cold do anything wrong."
"But Kid Flash won't stay at the hospital forever, what happens when he's gone?"
"Shh! Can't you keep your mouth shut? You have to say such unlucky things!"
The chief doctor snapped and was about to smack the young doctor when the latter suddenly pointed behind him, signalling him to turn around and look.
The chief doctor turned around to look and was almost scared out of his wits.
Only to see that the weather wizard was coming this way with a bag in his hand.
Fortunately, the weather wizard didn't bother them, but walked passed the two men to Captain Cold's side.
"Kid."
The weather wizard took a can of beer out of his bag and handed it to Wally.
Wally took it and opened it and took a sip, his eyes lighting up as he said, "I like this."
Suddenly, Wally's eyes glazed over and he said seriously, "Mark, you don't expect to buy me off with this, you're not like Cold, he's been cleared of the charges and you're still on the wanted list."
"We had a deal, you'd turn yourself in after you leave the hospital."
"I know, I know, I just wanted to meet Lisa, you guys don't know what a great girl she is, she's not like everyone in the Rogues, she got into college and has excellent athletic talent, she could have been an Olympic champion instead of some bullshit golden glider!"
"It's just a shame she's Cold's sister, that's her biggest misfortune."
The weather wizard's face was full of pity for Lisa, not that he had any special feelings for her, he just loved her as if she were his own sister.
To be precise, the whole of Rogues saw Lisa as something to be protected, they didn't necessarily like Captain Cold, but they definitely don't hate Lisa.
At this point, the weather wizard took another beer out of the bag and placed it on the chair, by Yuri's feet.
Although he didn't know if the aliens drank alcohol or not, or that Yuri wasn't actually old enough to drink.
Then the weather wizard opened an ale himself and took a big swig after clinking glasses with Wally.
"Wheat malt? From budweiser, I fucking love this one!" Captain Cold smiled as he took the bag from the Weather Wizard, however as the Weather Wizard's hand left, the smile on Captain Cold's face froze instantly.
This bag ... seemed a little too light?
The cold captain's face was annoyed and he asked with a dry smile, "Mark, you have been following the blacksmith for so long, have you not made much profit? Not even enough money to buy beer?"
"Leonard, you think too highly of yourself, the Blacksmith may not be much of a wise leader, but she's a lot better at making money than you are, I get paid more at the Network than all my days at the Rogues combined."
The Weather Wizard said dismissively, "Don't think I'll forgive you, if it wasn't for Lisa's sake I'd have cleaved you to death."
"What the hell is going on between you two? The former members of the Rogues all seem to hate Captain Cold." At this point, Wally interjected between the two men. "And Captain Cold, I haven't seen you pull out your freeze gun today, since when do you have superpowers?"
"It's none of your business." Captain Cold said as he looked away, Wally looked to the weather wizard and realised he didn't want to mention that either.
"It has nothing to do with him, but it has a lot to do with your sister's illness."
It was at this point that Yuri suddenly put down the MRI photos and faced the crowd with a straight face.
"Brain tumours form for similar reasons to tumours in other parts of the body, i.e. normal brain cells mutate into tumour cells caused by a genetic mutation, and the cells grow uncontrollably, thus evolving into a tumour."
"But Lisa's brain tumour is very different from a normal brain tumour!"
"If you look at the size of the tumour alone, Lisa's tumour isn't really that big, it's well within the range of what can be safely surgically cut, far from incurable, much less likely to leave her lying in a vegetative state for a year."
As soon as the words left his mouth, Captain Cold's face went grim, "How dare those doctors lie to me!"
"They're not lying to you, Lisa's illness really can't be cured."
Yuri spoke up in time to stop Captain Cold's impulse.
"Because what's causing her current condition isn't just tumour cells at all, it's her genes."
"Lisa's brain tumour is neither benign nor malignant, but part of her brain, the tumour has formed a whole with her brain and once it is removed, her brain will also be damaged, which would, of course, cause her to die."
