Omnipotent Odyssey

Omniscience; the ability to know and understand everything, everyone and all there is to both existence and nonexistence. Omnipotence; the ability to do anything both sensible or not. It is the capability and authority to do as one please when one pleases. However, do these two really grant freedom as one expects. My name is David Stone, I am nigh-omnipotent and nigh-Omniscient. However, I do not think I am free. Responsibility is a bitch. ××××××××××× You can read ahead on my patreon @patreon.com/Ink_Verse

Goblin

On it was a middle-aged man lying on a tattered bed, looking so frail as though he had never eaten in his life.

However, it was his environment that attracted the most attention. At times, the tattered bed would change into a grand, luxurious one.

The dilapidated room would shift randomly to a more modern setting and then to an older era.

The changes were consistent but varied each time. It was an astonishing sight to behold, but to David, it was no different from stabbing the universe with a knife.

The young man here may not have been powerful, but for comparison, he was like a worm within Eternity's stomach—completely harmless apart from some minor disturbances.

Yet, if left alone, death was one of the possible outcomes.

He wasn't powerful, but his presence was killing the universe.

"He can manipulate space and time but has no control over his ability, so his surroundings constantly warp themselves, bringing or sending things in his environment into the past, parallel universes, or even the future," David explained.

It was astonishing how much affinity the man had with space and time, born with abilities that placed him among the strongest in the universe, but fate had other plans.

"So, what will you do?" Jean asked.

"Remove it. He plays no significant role in the future, so there's no need to let him continue suffering," David replied before snapping his fingers.

Immediately after, the dome vanished into thin air as the space around them stabilized.

The temporal energy that had once run rampant within the dome vanished, and everything returned to normalcy.

"What did you do?" the man asked almost as soon as the area stabilized.

"Go back to the city. Your family is still looking for you," David said, handing the man a sandwich.

The look on the man's face said it all—he didn't understand what was happening, but he could feel it. He was back to normal. He could finally go home.

Without hesitation, David held Jean's hand, and they both flew out of the house. His work here was done, and there was no need to linger.

"Is this what you do?"

"Sometimes. It doesn't add much to my life, but it's satisfying to know that you may have saved a life," David replied.

"You were like an angel or something," Jean said excitedly.

"Ha, that's a new one—an angel," David laughed.

"You don't like it?" she asked as she flew ahead just so she could see his face clearly.

David laughed at her antics. He could tell what she thought about the situation, but he also knew she was just teasing him, so he let her be.

"You know, I've been called many things—from goblin to tanuki—but never an angel. Maybe I should grow some wings while I'm at it."

"Why would they call you a goblin? Aren't those things evil and ugly?" Jean asked.

"In countries like Korea, the goblin, or Dokkaebi, is vastly different from those in the Western world," David explained before they both teleported again.
