-Liam's head cracked against the pavement, the noise sharp and and unforgettable as his eyes finally closed, the gleam of love removed from his face.-
Victoria shrieked, finally finding the strength to charge forwards. Her heart ached, aches like it had never before, like she had been split in two. It ached like her mind had been split apart.
Liam was gone.
Liam was gone from her mind, his thoughts no longer there and his feelings, his feelings... all there was was pain, pain and an overlying fuzziness. Liam's end of the string-can phone was more comparable to a staticky television screen, it's black and white dots humming as they moved around each other.
"He-he isn't there!" Victoria's voice was clouded with tears as she reached Ethan. Her hands became a vise around his shirt, pulling it until it strained against his shoulders.
Her heart burning, she reached up to her face.
"He isn't there!" Instinct told her to claw at herself, release her mental pain physically. Yet, another force told her to gouge holes in Ethan, make it so he could feel the all encompassing agony she was feeling.
"You TOOK him from me!" Her voice broke as her hands reached up, and scratched Ethan, scratched him as he looked at her with full eyes. His eyes, his eyes were filled to the brim, unlike Liam, unlike his dull face as he looked at her with love. Empty love, love she knew was...
"You... took... him..." Victoria began to cry, her punishment on Ethan breaking.
Slowly, Ethan wrapped an arm around her, blood splattered on his face. "No..." she murmured between gasps. "No." She pushed away, and began to trudge remorsefully towards her
-mate? Was he still her mate?-
Trudge remorsefully towards Liam's limp body.
