The Infernal Being

The warm heat of the sun caressed their bodies, and the calm winds complemented their glittering skin.

Meters below the snow-capped mountain was a creature, faceless and disfigured. It's hunched back protruded to an extent, and stunted wings showcased themselves at its back.

A level 4, except its eyes weren't red, they actually seemed gray.

On the other side of the land, was Sota tasked with the responsibility of safeguarding his apprentices. The little greenish orb, has now lost luminosity and had vanished into thin air.

Akira had also exhausted the single ounce of energy he had left and gave in to unconsciousness. Their heavy bodies were filled with dust from the Shadow Realm, but the calm winds carried them away.

The fog thickened, and Sota took it as an initiative to depart. He could sense an ominous presence.

Ominous to the extent, that chills were sent down Sota's spine.

Gray and lifeless, the weird creature proceeded. Sota abruptly grabbed the bodies of the three, and jumped further down.

Immediately, a gust of wind followed, and  leaves of few trees that sprouted, rusted.

"What's following me?" he thought, acting unaware of its presence.

A shallow voice began singing, and a firm grip formed on Sota's shoulder.

It was like something out of a horror movie.

Sota turned, twisting his neck strongly - although, the fear overshadowed all feelings. Sota, an official with extraordinary power was seemingly scared.

"Why am I scared? It's not a Goblin, is it?"

He walked slowly northwards, stopped, and scrutinized his surroundings. Fog overshadowed all, and Sota was compelled to run.

With full force, Sota's legs moved as fast as they could, with his hands desperately gripping Akira, Masuyo, and Minato.

Soon, the shallow voice was heard once more. Now it began singing. It wasn't pleasant, neither was it unpleasant. It was a mix of worry and disturbance.

He quivered, his legs moved like spaghetti, and he fell to the floor. Firmly, he held the three students, knowing that he could not let his apprentices lose their lives.

"I'm an Official, dang it!"

He turned back, ready to face it head-on. The voice came again, except with more depth, commanding fear.

"Or not. This creature is well passed my jurisdiction," he spoke disapproving his earlier thought.

Back to his feet once again, he paced forcefully. His muscles bulged, and arteries pulsed. Although, he put on a calm face, his core was shaking in fear.

Chills settled, but Sota set his eyes on escape.

He stopped, making a realization. He hadn't for once, gazed upon the creature. He had only sensed a presence.

With the three in his hands, he took a deep breath and stared behind. Suddenly, the pale creature made its appearance.

"Wait, is that a Infernal Being?"

"I can't face that. I knew it was weirdly strong".

The creature, they was once thought as a Goblin, had just been uncovered as a Infernal Being. The Infernals are of a different and more powerful race from the Goblins.

They are like evolutions. Surpassing level 5 Goblins, making them unbelievably strong. The Goblins live in Shadow Realms, but lose significant power when in the real world.

For Infernal Beings, the case is different. Their habitat isn't singular, meaning they easily traverse the real world, and don't lose the least of their powers.

In the beginning, it was mentioned that half of the world was in destruction, while its counterpart, bathed in sunlight. These Infernal Beings are the rulers of the dark half.

But why did a Infernal Being make an appearance in Japan? - which is bathed in sunlight.

Whatever the reason, it spelled certain doom for Japan.

Sota sprung back up, and without hesitation continued his run. The students didn't seem to awaken from their slumber anytime soon.

Not that they would play a significant role.

"I'll leave this Infernal Being to higher ranking Officials. I presume it's a lower rank."

Swish!

The Infernal swiftly moved to Sota's face with exceptional speed.  The Infernal blocked his every move and dealt him significant damage, but Sota still held tightly to the students.

"I won't let you die," he whispered to their ears, with blood flowing down his face.

His death was near, and he couldn't feel a single limb. An abrupt and unfair matchup. In a matter of seconds, a similar cacophony erupted.

It was the same as the one during the ceremonial inauguration.

Numerous soldiers flooded out from a stunted hill. Hundreds of hundreds, and the numbers kept coming.

Thanks to the system skill, the bases were communicated on the appearance of an Infernal.

In a space of 2 seconds, 10 lost their heads. A second later, and 5 collapsed. Fractions of seconds, and limbs went flying, and rained down on the battlefield.

The snowy scape had turned into a pool of blood. The numbers reduced with every second, even fractions of seconds. Cases of decapitation, lost limbs, collapsing, slaughter, and many more were recorded in a minute, all because of one entity, the Infernal Being.

Its power was truly unrivaled but with the help of Sota's comrades, he was given a chance of escape. Desperately, he ran seeking solitude and leaving his friends behind.

All these were in an attempt to safeguard and house the young apprentices, for it was too early for their demise. Over a hundred lives were taken for three, and they were three insignificant apprentices who hadn't made any change in the society.

After hours of running, Sota sighted the city. He ran to seek medication, and dropped off the three apprentices unharmed. They all had returned safely, but the unnerving news was that no death record of the Infernal was recorded.

The Infernal Being was still roaming at the snow-capped mountain at the distance. Its existence wasn't the issue, but its appearance in Japan was shocking.

For an Infernal Being to exist in Japan, spelled their demise. Was the end of Japan near? Would it enter into an everlasting state of war and survival?
