Chapter 7: Reality

The fight starts with the monk and the thief lunging toward Darvic. Darvic holds his ground. The shaman is wary of Tiary instead of Mawra. The alchemist throws her bottle at Mawra, but the mage blocks it with the barrier. Tiary just defends herself against those vines. Polwil is the free one to do anything.

Thief has the most advantage when he is getting support from his ally to distract the enemy. Fighting head on is what thieves avoid. The odd thing about Lawis is that why can he wrestle a blacksmith stronger and heavier than himself? He doesn't have strength nor weight to do so. That leaves to…

"Darvic! Watch your feet!" - Polwil shouts loudly

The monk and the thief suddenly get dazed by his voice. Taking the advantage, Darvic sweeps the monk's legs first. Stumbled, the monk regains his balance by backing out and leaves Lawis about to get a shield bash from the fighter. Luckily, the bash gives the thief repositioning to the monk to catch.

"It seems like that vanguard stays back strangely enough. Why those two magic users staying at the front is understandable. So that means, the weakest link is that vanguard not the fighter" - the monk dashes.

Darvic cannot turn his back to protect Polwil. Suddenly, Polwil strafes to his right side then whips his sling at the monk's left shoulder.

"You have a critical mistake. Underestimating me is not a wise move" - Polwil smirks -"And do not make our cleric faint too. You all might see hell."

The monk suddenly stops. And turn around.

The shaman is trying to ensnare Tiary. But yet, Tiary's face does not look normal.

It seems like from a girl who is a very shy mouse staying back behind her mage into a very aggressive wolf lunging toward her prey.

They were told by Lawis not to treat Tiary like a normal cleric. It seems like the alchemist and the monk ignored the warning. Only the shaman can see the real meaning of the warning as soon as she saw the cleric when the four entered.

Tiary throws her mace at the shaman's staff. It has been broken. Nothing can protect the shaman anymore. Tiary uses barriers on her hands. She lunges a punch right at the poor shaman's face. Then she dashes toward the alchemist being distracted by Mawra. She stomps the ground to cause the alchemist to lose her balance. She falls down.

Two down, two to go

"I told you not to treat that cleric normally. I did not make that story up to cover my weakness." - Lawis clashes with Darvic.

[It seems like it will not end well for White Rose] - Polwil, Mawra and Darvic frown.

"Stop the match! This instant!" - The judge raises his flag.

All of the participants freeze.

"We do not need to do this further. Black Sheep has won. White Rose lost. It is two against four. All members of Black Sheep are in their best whilst White Rose has two members down and completely out of combat." - The judge points at Tiary -"This cleric, I need to have a talk with her and her party."

At the living room of the guild.

"From now on, all of you are not allowed to accept any duel or be dueled until your occupations are promoted" - The old man drinks his tea

"But sir, why? We are just a normal party like any other" - Darvic raises his both hands

"Listen brat! I can see all of your gifts and occupations. Each of you is a mess. I expect all of you will fail. I also expect that cleric wouldn't be able to fight well" - He continues to smell the aroma

"Then why did you stop the match and declare us win?" - Polwil presses

"If I let that match continue, you four will get in very big trouble. That cleric" - The old man points at Tiary - "has two personalities. I saw bloodlust like that before. That is a very sadistic bloodlust. "

"When did you first see it then, old bones?" - Mawra glares

The old man sighs.

"Fine! I owed you a truth. Mawra, your uncle was truly killed not because of an attempted murder. It was him running toward that monster. On that day, we were fighting that beast. He had a bold idea to knock himself out and gave in to his maddening personality. He lunged into the mouth and planned to torture it from the inside until it died. Unfortunately, the monster was angrier than its original. So we had to kill it before it reached the town. We had to hide it for many years not to taint your uncle's name as the bravest man alive. We did report it to our previous guild master the whole thing. He understood what must be done." - The old man sips his tea gloomily -"I warn you from here on. You must not repeat what happened in the past."

The four understand. What will happen in the future is uncertain but they know that they should avoid things happened in the past
