Explosion part 4

A/N: Last part.

Kumi's POV:

This group of people or supernatural beings were different they all seemed to be friends and work together great but whenever they make any big decisions, they all look to the woman Elodie for her choice, but she seems to be out of it. I wonder what she's like when not distracted and thinking about her injured friend and pack member.

The ride went smoothly, and the others started getting more excited as we got closer to a large clearing that was well hidden but if you looked hard enough you could see a huge camp with quite a bit of different-looking cabins and tents. It was getting darker, and the sun had started going down, but you could see fires in random places and people were still walking around and hanging out. A few of them had smiles on their faces and looked to be having fun with one another though they looked like they were trying to keep their spirits high.

We followed Elodie into the camp then split up halfway in as she went in the direction of a large white tent while we went to a stable-like building. Everyone hopped off the horses and put them into the stables and they showed me the way back to the big white tent saying this was the med tent and Kiroko would surely be inside already.

Entering the tent, I saw Elodie sitting with what I assumed were other werewolves from the wolf ears on top of their heads, around someone in a cot the next one over, held Kiroko who was bandaged in several different spots. Cever touched my shoulder and handed me a chair to sit on near her bed I accepted it with a quick thank you and a nod of my head and sat down fast, needing to be here when she woke up.

I hated whoever had done this and looking over at the group of werewolves I could see they were filled with worry, concern, and the same anger as me. I gently took Kiroko's hand in mine and I could hear whispering as Cever, Àine, and Lilly left talking about going to find their significant others.

I sat there for who knows how long till I felt Kiroko's fingers twitch, and I gasped as she squeezed my hand and opening her eyes. It had become dark now so the only source of light in the tent were lamps strung from the ceiling.

"Kiroko! How are you feeling?" I asked with concern and a little excitement at her being up she looked around trying to get her bearings then her eyes narrow in on me and she smiles softly and my heart melts. We hadn't seen and touched each other in so long because we had been kept apart for so long in that base.

"I'm feeling a little sore, but I'll be fine," she answered softly, and I was startled when a young woman with blonde hair came over to the cot.

"Hello, Kiroko and Kumi my name is Enyo. How are you feeling?" She asked kindly she was someone who I'd saw looking over other patients in the tents she'd also come to check up on Nica the girl in the cot beside us. I'd heard her name a few times as the werewolves and a girl wearing all dark clothing talked and expressed their concerns and asked how the mission went.

"I'm doing ok just a little sore," Kiroko repeated in a soft voice though it had gained a bit more strength the longer she talked. I smiled down at her and brought up her hand to kiss on the inside of her palm.

Enyo nodded and walked away from the bed, and I could hear her telling one of the other people who went around checking on the people in the cots that she was now leaving, and she left the tent, minutes later. I looked down at Kiroko to her again looking around in curiosity.

"We are at a camp for supernatural beings, that's what they told me. They came to rescue us from the base, and it blew up with you and two others inside," I looked down at her with a sad and concerned face, "I was so scared when they said you got injured." She squeezed my hand again and brought her other hand to caress my face with a soft smile.

"It's alright now. I'm alright now. And we are both alive and safe," I nodded with a watery smile and bent down to put a soft kiss on her lips. We were safe or as safe as we could be and this war, we were unintentionally sucked into I could tell we'd be asked to fight, and I wouldn't decline because I was ready to fight.
