Chap2: Take my hands

Her mum continued "Baby I saw what happened yesterday with you and the fire" Flame's expression changed to shock "It was like you absorbed the fire" Flame then finally said " Mum I'm scared , I don't know what's happening to my body" "I've been feeling hotter than usual and yesterday when I got it contact with fire it didn't hurt or burn rather it felt energizing" "please help me mum I'm scared I'm really scared" Her mum hugged her and Flame hugged her back feeling fear with a mixture of confusion.

"Flame you see, you're not alone. There is something I want to tell you and I know it's going to come as a surprise but I think you're an Element" "A what?" Flame pulled back and starred at her mum in confusion. "An element you see the thing is your grandad and grand mum were also elements. My dad was the fire element while my mum was the water element, they were special just like you. They were the protectors of earth but one day my dad and mum fought alongside the elements but my mum saved my dad from getting hitting and in the process she died. My cousin who also knew that they were special found out about his aunt's death but he took it the wrong way. He instead grew in hatred towards my dad and the other elements saying they called themselves protectors yet they couldn't protect his Aunt. He became a psycho while my dad felt guilty for the incidence till he died. My cousin Rick then over the years gathered as much people as he could in other to capture the elements and remove then from the face of earth. They called themselves THE ALT . They hunt down people like you."

Flame took her time to digest all that her mother said, after some time she finally spoke "So is your cousin going to kill me when he find's out I'm an Element?" her mum stayed quiet then nodded. Flame laughed then said "Come on mum this is all a joke right" her mum looked at her with an expression of pity, realisation then hit Flame who then asked "Mum what do we now". Her mum replied "You have to find your guardian" "my dad once told me that someone like a guardian trained them and made then understand their powers, maybe your supposed to find your guardian. You have to do it fast because Rick has eyes everywhere and if he finds out what happened yesterday. He would try every means to capture you" "mum you mean I have to run away?" Flame looked shockingly at her mother. "Yes baby and there isn't much time left, your uncle will be looking for you any moment now, so you need to move this night in other to stay safe" "But mum where will I go. I mean I don't know where this so called guardian is" "Baby your guardian will find you. you just need to leave this town as quickly as possible" Her mum then hugged and said "I love you baby, stay safe and trust no one". " OK mum, so all I have to do is get out of this city, hide from your psycho cousin and let the guardian whoever he is find me and I'll be alright?" "yes baby, you'll have to get your things ready" her mum noticed her downcast expression and tried to cheer her up "look on bright side baby, you get to explore a whole new world and save lives , have powers and oh yeah meet the other elements" Flame who was quiet smiled a little and said "I'm not that scared mum but I'll really miss you, dad, John & Jenny. But I guess this has to be done for my survival". "OK baby just relax, eat and get prepared. When it gets dark you'll leave through the lobby then find a bus or a cab. If you don't find any, run just run you hear me run" "bye baby I'll miss you" "bye mum I'll miss you too"

Flame then ordered room service and ate heavily in preparation for the night. She got two pairs shorts and three pairs of shirts, a pair of sneakers & a pair of slides. She stuffed them in a backpack and zipped it shut. She slept a little and when she woke up she waited for some hours and when it started to get dark. She headed out. When she came down the lobby she noticed some shady men wearing black shirts and pants. They were questioning the receptionist who was typing something on her system very fast almost like she was scared.

Flame quietly walked by with her black hoodie and black pants. They noticed her then one of the men said "stop there, who are you" Flame froze and said "Oh no one you should bother about" "turn around now" Flame slowly turned with her head still down. Then suddenly the man pulled down her hoodie "you look familiar" then he checked something on his phone then suddenly said "it's her, John grab her!!" almost in an instant a man with a large framed grabbed Flame. While she struggled, the man began to type on his phone when he finished "We'll take her into the van" he said sounding happy. The receptionist just looked away and that moment Flame knew that if she allowed them take her She'll be done for.

She began struggle then man held her tighter than before making it harder to struggle. She began to feel angry and suddenly her body began to look like it was heating. Suddenly the man screamed in pain and instantly let her go. Flame was still enraged, she held out her hand and the shirt of the man who grabbed her cut on fire. Flame took this as an opportunity to run so she immediately set off. The other man turned back in shock then immediately called his boss "Hello Boss, We had her but she set John's clothes on fire and ran off. You were right sir she is one of those specials" "Good, she can run but she can not hide, find her and bring her to me" the man on the line said "OK Boss".

Flame kept running non stop she ran and ran as far as she could. She kept running , she stumbled upon a quiet neighborhood and so she saw a small convenience store. She entered and saw an old man who seemed to be the owner. She figured if she was find a place to stay maybe it will be there. She walked towards countered " Good day sir, please are you owner of this store" "yes what can I do you for" the man said eyeing her suspiciously. Flame suddenly went down on her knees and begged him "Sir please help me people are after me, please can I stay here for a night I'm willing to pay some money. Please sir my life is on the line. If they find they'll take me to their boss who kills debtors. Please sir just a night" the old man looked at her with pity and finally agreed " I just hope you're not lying and you're not a criminal running from the police or something". He took her deep into store then shifted a rusty shelf and she saw a door when she opened it , it was an abandoned store with a small back door. "home sweet home, get settled" he said.

Flame entered the room and sat on the floor feeling tired and exhausted, it was 1am in the morning. She pulled out a photograph of her family and smiled sadly . "Happy birthday to me" she said almost to tears. Who would have thought She'll spend her 19th birthday this way. She played on the ground and used her backpack as a make shift pillow. She slept and when she woke up it was 4am, she couldn't sleep that well but it was better than no sleep at all. she got out of the room then bought some snacks as breakfast and fuel for her journey. She then bid the old man goodbye and left.

She picked up from where she left out. When she got to Miran lane, she finally saw a cab, so she entered the cab and it drove off. She was dropped of at the border. She looked up and saw a large sign with a written 'Welcome To Pine Town' . She felt a little relived. She continue to run until her feet began to hurt and she decided to rest then she began to reminisce on how she got here in the first place. When she reminisce enough she saw something like a farm ahead so decided to walk there. Her feet were sore so she waked there carefully. The sun had set already. Suddenly she felt something like a portal open and a tricenarian woman with sliver hair stretched out her hand and said "Fire Element take my hand".
