Whiskey and Nightmares

An hour later had them walking down some stairs. Nyx had his arm around her waist, leading her to were his friends now sat laughing drinking. "About time, you two show up. Now you gotta catch up with me, Raya." Crowe said, laughing. Nyx sat down. Raya took the seat next to him as Crowe handed her three shots of something. "Crowe, do I even wanna ask?" It was Nyx who answered. "Galahad whiskey. My starlight you are in for a night if you drink that." Raya laughed. "Well, as long as I got my hero with me, I have nothing to worry about, do I?"

Libertus looked at her with his jaw dropped. " I didn't know you guys were going public with your status?" Raya looked confused as Crowe did. "Why do I feel like I missed an episode of my fave show, and now I'm lost?" Crowe asked. "I feel that way, and I'm sober as hell," Raya responded as she downed the three shots in front of her. Nyx was impressed normally; people have to space them shots out. " Your hair is a give away it's the Ulric family braid. Means your dating."

Raya turned to look at a very smug Nyx. "Well, I guess it's a good thing I happen to like this smug hero." She kissed him. Crowe and Raya started playing darts till Raya could no longer see straight. She laughed as Nyx pulled her into his lap. "So Raya, you doing anything for your birthday this weekend?" Libertus asked.

Nyx felt her whole body tense up. Raya took another shot that Crowe kept handing her. "No, I don't... Yea, no, I'm not a birthday person." Crowe seeing her friends fear they changed the topic. Nyx knew right then what he would do for her birthday. All he needed to do was text Drautos.

"Dude, I think both the girls are out. I would have never guessed Raya could out drink Crowe. Drinking is like a sport to grow." Libertus said, laughing. Nyx looked down to see Raya curled up in his arms. "Yeah, but Raya had a fun night, and she needs more of them. Lib, you okay to get Crowe home." Nyx asks as he moves a bit. "Yeah, I got her. See you on Monday, Hero." Nyx waved goodbye to his friends.

"Starlight, you ready to go home?" Raya opened her eyes slowly. "Yeah...but can we wait till the room stops moving?" Nyx chuckled. He helped her up, keeping his arm around her waist in case she fell. Once they made it outside, she stopped. "Nyx, I think I'm gonna be sick." Next thing he knew, she threw up. "It's fine babe Galahad whiskey is strong, and I lost count of how many you had Crowe kept putting them in front of you." Raya nods.

Thirty minutes later had them at his place. "Nyx, this is not my place; it's you." He raised his eyes at her. "Are you 100% sure?" she looked at him then around the room. "No." Nyx smiled as he helped her get to the bed. "I can walk by myself, you know." Nyx let her go as she ran into the side of the bed. "Shit, okay, fine shut up." Nyx just grinned at her.

Once she was lying down, she put her hand over her eyes. "Trash can is next to you, babe." She didn't even respond. Nyx took her shoes off and got her ready for bed with a few mumbles from her, making him laugh. Nyx was sitting in his chair watching tv when he saw Raya tossing and turning in her sleep.

Nyx got up and kneeled next to the bed. "Hey baby, you okay. It's just a dream." Nyx crawled into bed next to her when he saw her crying. Nyx felt her breathing get faster and faster. "Please don't...I'm sorry. I won't do it again..PLEASE."

Raya sat up real fast. Her heart was racing. She jumped when she felt a hand on her arm. "Come here, starlight, let me hold you." She let him pull her back down. Raya played her head on his chest. "Nyx, I'm sorry."

Nyx was rubbing her back. "Shh. You have nothing to be sorry about. Hell, even I have dreams like that at times. Just know when you have them I will be here to hold you till it passes. I promise." Nyx tilted her chin up to look at him. " I love you, my starlight." she started to pout. "I won't remember this in the morning. That's not fair." Nyx laughed.

"Then I guess I will have to remind you in the morning. How's that sound?" Raya smiled. "As long as you do it with coffee." Nyx smiled at her. " Anything for you, starlight." She curls up closer to him. Nyx thought she had fallen back asleep. " I love you too, Hero." Nyx wrapped his arms around her and leaned his head on the top of hers. They both fell asleep in each other's arms.

Nyx was making coffee when he saw her start to wake up. when she sat up, he saw her panic. "Hey, I'm still here, starlight." Nyx sees the relief wash over her face when she sees him. Raya jumps out of bed and runs into his open arms. "Hey, your okay breath slowly, babe. Come sit with me." she followed him to the kitchen and sat down. "So hows your head feeling?"

Raya wasn't thinking about it till now, causing her to jump up and run to the bathroom. " I swear if I hear one bit of laughing from you. I will kill you where you stand." Nyx came to the bathroom doorway. "What if I tell you I love you." Raya looked up at him as he handed her a cup of coffee. " The meds are already on the sink for you." Nyx smiled at the stunned look on her face.

Raya cleaned herself up and walked out to see Nyx still in the kitchen. Raya heard her phone going off and picked it up to see it was a text.

Crowe: Raya, I'm so sorry if you feel like I do forgive me.

Raya: Our fave hero is taking care of me, so I should be thanking you.

Crowe: Holy shit, you stayed the night there? Tell me everything.

Raya: nothing happened, Crowe, you got me too drunk.

Raya: but he did say he loved me this morning as I was throwing up

Crowe: awwww how gross laters girl.

"Crowe says hi," Raya tells Nyx as she sits down in the kitchen. Raya hands her cup back over to Nyx. "Raya, can I ask you to trust me?" she looked up at him a bit on edge. " I wanna take you out for your birthday, but I can't tell you where and you will be blindfolded so as not to ruin the surprise." Nyx watched her as she took in what he said.

"Nyx, I trust you, plus you know I can kick your ass if you try anything." Nyx smiled at her. "Pfft, you could try. Go home and pack some stuff for the weekend.

Raya was back at her place. She looked around. " This won't take long. I only got one bag," she says to herself. Raya pulls out her phone and texts Crowe

Raya: Hey girl, I guess Nyx is taking me out for my birthday.

Crowe: For real WOW, he must care about you all me and lib get is a wave.

Raya: Yea it's the I have to be blindfolded that is bugging me

Crowe: sounds kinky

Raya: CROWE

Hero: Hey, starlight, you ready?

Raya: yeah. Are you coming down here?

Hero: Yup I'm at your door now

Raya: Walk-in it's open then

Raya: Well wish me luck

Crowe: Good luck don't do anything I wouldn't do

Raya: There is nothing you wouldn't do

Crowe: Good point have fun

" You know it's not safe to leave your door unlocked right," Nyx says as he kisses her. Raya shrugs, " I wasn't allowed locked doors, so I just never lock them that, and I really don't sleep much, so if someone tries to rob me, I kinda feel bad for them." Nyx took her bag from her. " I don't know if that should bother me or not?" Raya kissed him. "Best not to think about it too hard hero." she followed him downstairs.

Two hours later had her trying to step off a boat blindfolded. Raya lost her footing and thought she was going to fall till she felt Nyx catch her around her waist. "Sorry." She says shyly. " No worries, I like you in my arms. So you ready to see where you are?" she nods as Nyx removes the blindfold. " Welcome to Galahad starlight." Nyx smiles when he watches her eyes light up. As they go to the car, people smile and nod; there heads at the two. " Umm, Nyx."

After they get in the car and start it up, "My family is well known around here, So it is kinda like a we respect your choice in girlfriend." When she starts to smile, he does too. "Mind if I listen to some music?" Nyx nods, "Go for it this weekend is all for you, starlight." Nyx listens to her sing along with the stereo and smiles.

"You have a wonderful voice, my enchanting starlight." Raya turns to look at him. "You are the only one ever to tell me that." Nyx takes her hand and kisses it. "Well, I'm the only one that matters." she smiles up at him.

Nyx pulls into a driveway and parks. "Welcome to my family home." Raya is sitting there in shock. Nyx gets out and walks to her side opening her door. "Nyx, this place is magical." he nods. "Even more so now that your here." Raya looks up at him as he softly kisses her. "Oh look, some wild animal shows up in our driveway attacking pretty girls. Momma weres our gun?"

Nyx moves away from her and warps behind the girl that was talking. "NYX ULRIC, you put me down right now." Nyx did as asked and reached his hand out to Raya, who took it. "Raya, this little brat is my sister Selena. Selena, this is Raya, or as I call her starlight."

Raya felt her panic rising, and Nyx must have as well because he pulled her close. "Your safe with me, remember. I will always protect you. That and your one badass Glaive that would give me a run for my money."

"Nyx, how nice of you to come home once every blue moon you could write or call. Who is this lovely girl?" Nyx smiles. "Momma, this is Raya." The woman smiles when she sees Raya's hair. " I see. Well, You may call me momma, you get the point. I hope my son has been behaving himself in the city." Raya laughs. "Well it's a job it's self to keep his ego in check at times, But then all I have to do is spar with him. Seeing as he loses every time." Nyx's mom laughs.

"So, you're a Glaive as well." Raya nods "Yes, ma'am." His mom raises her eyes at her. "Sorry old habit." Nyx hugs her. "You should teach them to my son." Raya smiles. Nyx takes there stuff upstairs and comes back down to see her standing at the waters edge just watching the sea.

"She has had a hard life, hasn't she?" Nyx turns to his mom. "Yeah, from what little she has told me. It has been hell for her." Nyx takes the drinks his mom had and walks out to Raya. "Nyx, it is peaceful here." Nyx hands her a beer. "Glad you like it. Listen tomorrow I have to go pick up your gift in town. will you be okay on your own for a few hours?" Raya looked at him and smiled."Yeah, I think so."
