Nothing Goes Right

Kalo never expected that he’d be transmigrated into the book, Whispers of a Warrior. A fantasy book that focused on the adventure and hardships of Jai Kove, the protagonist. After suffering from a car accident; he met system 808. A system designed to fix stories that have been deviating from their original track. The book has been going off the rails and system 808 has finally pinpointed the cause on one character. This one character’s not the villain, not the protagonist, not even a character who appears for more than 5 chapters, but the friend of the protagonist who died during his childhood while protecting him! Now Kalo is forced to act out as this character, in order to return back to his original world. Everything was going fine, despite all the hardships Kalo had to go through and the protagonist’s weird obsession with him, but right after he’s supposed to have died, something goes wrong. Instead of waking up back in his original world he’s still alive and wakes up in an unfamiliar environment. He’s even being nursed back to health by one of the protagonist’s future party members! What’s worse is that he can’t even manage to get into any contact with that damned system of his. What the hell is he supposed to do in this situation?! AN: I utterly suck at grammar and spelling so if I mess up with that stuff feel free to give me a friendly comment about it. ———— I do not own the cover art. It belongs to @kkuekkue on twitter. Their an amazing artist and if I’m asked to take it down by them then I will. Also I’ll try to update when I can. I do this as a hobby. ———- Warning: This involves romance between two guys, so if you’re not up for reading that then I’d head out. Also warning that it’ll have slight gore, violence, swearing, and slavery.

One sided fight

A crowd had formed around the two who were entangled with each other. The other slaves nervously looked at number 22, knowing that things would not end well for him.

"How long do you think it's gonna last? I bet a piece of bread he won't last longer than 15 minutes." One guy in the crowd whispered to the guy next to him.

"I'm not betting a piece of bread on this one-sided fight, but if I had to say anything he won't last longer than 10. Any minute now another guard is going to show up and this incident will be over in a matter of seconds." The man retorted back to him in a hushed voice.

Even with their freedom being limited by chains, making bets was one of the few ways to bring entertainment to their otherwise restricted lives.

Kalo was still tightly clutching onto the guard's leg, while the guard vigorously attempted to get him off. The guard pushed down on his face. Kalo's face felt like it was getting smushed together due to the force, but he couldn't just let go now. Despite how much he was starting to regret this, it was a bit too late to go back.

It would be too odd for him to just suddenly let go and say 'oh yeah sorry for the interruption you can continue what you were doing' and then walk away. Plus he couldn't just leave the poor guy there to get beat up.

Speaking of the poor guy, number 39, he had scrambled back onto his feet and took the liberty of distancing himself away from the action. Number 39 looked at Kalo with a mix of awe and shock.

Kalo was lost in thought when the guard grasped his long messy hair, sharply tugging it back. Thus, forcing Kalo's head to jerk back suddenly. His hair felt like it was about to get pulled out of his skull.

This was one of the reasons he never usually let his hair grow out this long. It was just such an easy target to latch onto in fights. It constantly gets in the way and always hurts like hell when it gets pulled on. Once he survived this he'd have to cut it off.

The thought of cutting off his hair didn't last long before he realized that he was 22, not Kalo. Number 22 wouldn't cut off his hair which meant that he couldn't either. He was only going to be here for another month or so then he'll be free and back to his short hair then. Endure. He only had to endure for a month.

The pain from his scalp only continued to increase. Kalo glared at the guard before voicing out his sufferings. "Ouch, ouch, are you trying to make me bald?"

"Shut your mouth. You'd be lucky if I didn't decide to tear off all your hair." His grip on his hair tightened as he pulled his hair higher forcing Kalo to look up at him.

That struck a nerve and he couldn't help thinking about what an absolute asshole this guy was.

"Fine, maybe I will shut my mouth then."

Feeling spiteful he then quickly jolted forward and bit down as hard as his jaw strength allowed him to on the guard's unprotected leg. The guard groaned out in pain from the unexpected action. This was the first time any prisoner had dared to bite him.

The others looked at Kalo in shock. He really bit him. What wrong medicine did he take today?! This whole scene was very exciting and the crowd dared not to voice out their cheers too loudly and could only do so in their hearts.

Number 39 especially was afraid of speaking up as at any moment the guard commonly called George could reshift his focus back onto beating him again. Number 39 eyes still lit up with excitement as he saw the action made by Kalo.

From the sudden movement forward earlier he could feel some of his hair that was in the guard's grip get pulled out from his head, but it was worth it. If he had to name his greatest motivator than it was spite. Losing some hairs in exchange for getting revenge on some arrogant bastard was an easy decision that he could make any day. He hoped that he'd at least be able to make him draw blood.

When the guard looked at those golden eyes it was as if they were mocking him and saying "see look I did close my mouth".

Another guard who had shiny brown hair saw the commotion and finally ran over to help George. The crowd just made his task increasingly difficult.

"Get out of the way," he shouted. His face scrunched up from frustration.

It only took a moment before the crowd dispersed, leaving a path for the newly arrived guard.

After he managed to push through the crowd to reach the area, he witnessed George punch number 22 right in the face causing him to lose his grip on his leg and fall to the ground.

It's a wonder why it took this long for such simple violent measures from the guard to occur. Earlier, George didn't want to be too rough with him considering the value of his eyes, he was valuable merchandise, but after getting bitten he couldn't let this bastard get away scot free. He finally just punched him in order to get him off him.

George didn't stop there as he then kicked the fallen number 22's head.

Kalo's head slammed into the ground. The world seemed to spin for a moment. His ears rung from the impact. His face tinged with pain. Dirt had even gotten in his mouth. After he got slammed to the ground, the ringing of his ears wasn't the only thing that he heard.

"Host, warning, warning your actions conducted just now were extremely out of character. Further action will result-" System 808 words were in vain as they didn't seem to reach his ears.

It took him a moment to pull himself together. Finally, he lifted his face off the ground. His dizzy vision finally stabilized. His body went on autopilot ignoring the current words of the system as he grabbed a bunch of dirt, throwing it directly in the guy's eyes.

"Is there a record for getting in a fight on the first day of transmigration cause I'd say I just broke it."

Yeah,,, I haven’t posted in a while, but like I’m still alive.
