First day. First fight

The cave looked completely empty, just the normal stone or grass growing around there apart from which there was nothing much.

"I think there's a sort of path ahead. " I informed her as I noticed the opening ahead.

"Let's check it out. We're in already" she suggested and I nodded leading us on ahead through the path.

"About the changing to the wolf stuff Asher..." I turned to look back at her noting the seriousness in her expression.

"I'm not having this discussion Aurora . Already said not happening." I cut her off. She exhaled quickly a hint of frustration in her

"We are this now Asher. There's nothing we can do for the meantime." She started.

" It's been what, a few hours and you already cool with this." I asked a bit of malice on my tone. A feeling of annoyance and frustration clouding my mind.

*Look. I get it. One morning we normal and the next we are not. Sulking and being pissed won't keep us in check. I for one don't intend on killing any human I come across simply cause I can't hold myself. So  I intend on getting the hang of this, I've got a family of people who's blood call to me." She stopped as I held up a hand a bit of noise from rocks rolling about reaching my ears. I scanned the path seeing nothing then nodded for us to continue going. Realizing how my actions seemed almost like some covert ops I chuckled my mood lightening up a bit.

Taking it as her cue to continue talking she continued. "Look you might not feel the need to slaughter and kill those around you but I do."I looked at her for a minute halting my steps.

"What does this have to do with me turning into a wolf and I don't know going through a world of mind blowing pain.?" I asked placing emphasis on the mind blowing as I mimicked an explosion with my palms. She seemed to pause a while.

"I just wanted us to do this together. Double As right. I ts gonna sound cheesy and all but fact is you and I woke up beneath that tree You and I are here right now searching for clues. I feel like this is gonna be us for a while, wolf and vampire." She looked down at her feet then back up quickly.

"We need to beat this Ash. And I can't do it by myself. Neither can you beat this by not trying again." I stood completely silent for a while as I stared at her my mind mulling her words over like they were ancient Greek transforming into English.

Exhaling loudly I nodded a little and turned back to the path.

"Let's survive one thing first aye" I stated then walked forward with her following behind my mind wandering to the previous night. it hadn't even been up to more than a day and she was already acclimating with things. It felt weird and wrong. Almost like we gave up before we even started a fight.

We finally came to a spot where the cave stopped a large size hole big enough to fit a bear there. We exchanged glances for a minute as I was still unsure. Gazing into the dark hole I wondered what could be there, a wolf, a vampire like her, I turned to stare at Aurora. Or something else that we didn't even know about. She nodded at me urging me on and for a minute I had the thought of just turning and walking out. This was real danger depending on what was down there but still I knew we had to find some sorta clue and the prints were it.

Barely saying a word I dropped down the hole slowly climbing down till my legs found the floor, relief that the distance wasn't even much. I shifted then watched her climb down before turning back to the expanse of space before me. I took a step forward before the smell reached me.

"Eww. Someone took a bath in their fur." Aurora muttered from behind me her voice not hiding the distaste at the wet dog smell.

"C'mon let's find it" I took another step before she pulled me back.

"Too late... " she raised a finger pointing to the far front of us where golden eyes locked with mine flashing like a pair fireflies in the night as it seemed to illuminate but still hide it's owner. "...seems it found us first".

We stood there for what felt like minutes but was actually seconds staring ourselves down. The figure with the gold eyes seemed to move closer a bit. I finally noticed the battery lamp hanging off the wall that lit the room up dimly. A table stacked high with some books stood to the side with three wooden chairs by it. There was a cupboard to the other side of the cave and a bed roll shoved to the wall. Another table stood in front of us seemingly separating us from the rest of the room.

"Who's there?" Aurora spoke my eyes whipping back to the creature before me. The scent was everywhere which made me wonder if he or she lived here. No response came from it as it just watched a little unnervingly.

"Think it's dumb" Aurora prodded obviously trying to irk an answer from it. I glared at her not yet comfortable with pissing of a potentially dangerous creature. We'd been supernaturals how long a day and she was already behaving like this was all good. It peeved me a bit as I felt in a way she was taking this all a bit unseriously but at the same time seriously which was blatantly confusing. But I shrugged it off pushing my attention back at the figure that had now drawn closer. The wet dog smell, the gold gaze made me suspect I was looking at another werewolf plus with the prints leading here, we might have actually found our wolf.

A hiss left Aurora's lips as the wolf drew closer more, she was obviously getting the scares now. The wolf  though didn't acknowledge her it's eyes just on me as it drew closer. A snarl suddenly rumbled up my chest and out my lips before I even realised it freezing it in it's tracks as it stared. Then a snarl rumbled from it too as it surged forward with a race.

"Oh you just had to play big bag wolf didn't you" I murmured panic starting up in my head. Aurora backed up instantly as the creature covered the distance to the table separating us.

Our eyes widened as the wolf leaped up onto a table and glared down at us, the light of the lamp giving us a few details. The first being it was female after all, her hair hanging widely as she snarled at us, the second and the more disturbing one. She was butt naked and she didn't seem to give a care. Gold eyes locked on me, a sinister grin etched into her cheeks as her lips were parted to highlight the fangs peeking through.

"Well shit" I croaked out as I backed up while averting my eyes as best I could. But she roared the sound filling the room and ringing in my ears. Good nature fled my brain as my eyes locked with hers something snapping in my head as the inner presence rose out itching to take over obviously being riled up by her roar. I felt it first before it came, the claws descending from my fingers like a muscle twitch, my gums itched as I guessed my fangs made their exit. My tongue made the confirmation as it ran itself over the elongated canines.

I felt my face twist, muscles and bones scrunching up like knuckles being cracked before a fight. A tremor rose from my abdomen quick and hot as it flowed and spilled out my lips like a waterfall pushing out and over the room and making Aurora stumble back and away from me, the roar deafening. If she was smiling before then her face took a full joker persona as she then leaped off the table body poised at me.

"Aurora run" I yelled instinctually a need to protect flooding me right as I leaped forward body colliding with the she wolf. We staggered back and away then charged forward again. Her fist found my jaw snapping my face to the left and her hand went slicing my chest with claws as blood splashed. I winced and pulled back, gold flashed in my pupils. Snarling she followed up quickly prompting me to raise my arms to defend from the slashes and blows she struck out.

I went low ducking a roundhouse kick and bouncing back up quickly as I snarled at her. She responded with an equally ferocious growl before she swung a punch at me which I quickly attempted to evade only for her to go low and sweep my feet off the floor. My back struck the floor as the breath left my lungs in the force of the crash.

She was on my chest in a blink first slamming her feet down hard on my chest, I was definitely certain something cracked, a rib?. Coming low her claws raked over my abdomen and slicing down my left cheek and my arms as she growled viciously. My hands shot up grabbing both her wrists and seizing her onslaught as she roared down at me in what I felt was a challenge. The earlier feeling within got more stronger pushing to be let lose. My face contorted in rage as I pulled her down to my face and on her knees totally ignoring the nude body now pressed on me and roared back at her.

She was ripped off me with force and flung across the room before I could continue with the headbutt I was visualizing, a thud and crash sounding out as she smacked into the far wall and hit the ground dust and bits of stone collapsing alongside her. I looked to see Aurora hissing her fangs bared as she stared at where she'd thrown the she wolf.

"Time to go?" I asked hopefully my face contorted in pain as blood ran down the various claw marks now adorning my upper body. Aurora glanced down at me nodding before she helped me up her eyes looking me over worriedly.

A snarl sounded pulling our attention back to the wolf who ran at us.

"Move I'll hold her back. Get outta here. " I walked pass her bending low quickly as a fist came flying for my face. How?. The speed?. I jumped back just as another feet came at me. I barely ducked to avoid but still ended up getting claws slashing my chest. 'Toe claws, what the hell' I shouted in my head as I attempted avoiding a fist to the face before grabbing her left arm and tugging her back to me. My forehead slammed straight onto her face a crack and splash of blood on me giving me the answer I needed. I watched as she fell back dazed and I took the opportunity to pull Aurora away to the entrance.

"Get out!" I shouted. My gut clenched and my wars picked up whistling in the air that had me dropping into a roll that sent me away turning to see I had evaded her claws which slashed the air where I had been a moment ago. I jumped forward and nailed a fist to her face wincing as I heard another crunch.

"Sorry. " I automatically apologized before remembering she was out to maul me. "Scratch that not sorry. " I added quickly before blocking a fist and taking a blow to the gut that winded me. Her knee met my face twice as she probably attempted to break my nose as I did hers. Then she pullede away from the entrance and back into the cave with the table now behind me. With a spin and jump in the air another kick slammed into my chest and sent me over the table to crash face first into the dusty floor.

I picked myself up groaning before looking to the entrance to find Aurora peeking down to see me. Pushing up I knew I had to handle the wolf or Aurora would get down here to aid me again. She was on me in a rush as I ducked then leaped over the table to the other side. Turning I caught her foot as she made a Spartan kick and using her momentum stretched her out before I moved forward my claws swinging forward aiming to slice her chest before I remembered something and adjusted my strike midair while mentally complaining. My claws effectively across her face but at a lower strength due to the deviation.

I felt the blood drip down my finger to the ground as I grabbed her neck with my right hand my claws sinking into the neck while she thrashed. Feeling the abnormal strength I hefted her up before tossing her right back into the back of the cave and spun for the exit watching as Aurora moved out to give me room to escape.

We tore down the dark path and out the cave the roar and snarl of anger left behind us as we rushed out into the daylight. We kept running then dropped down the rock we'd climbed up before we continued our race down the path we'd tracked to come here.

It wasn't till a few ways off that we halted and looked back seeing nothing behind us. Aurora glanced at me questioningly as I looked around for a stump or log to sit on.

"You don't think she followed us?" She queried as she searched the woods behind us.

"If she did, we'd be seeing her now". I replied as I began tugging at my polo. My arms still burned from the lacerations the fine she wolf had decided to gift me.

"First day, I get broken bones, second I'm mauled by a mad she wolf, can't even wait to see what third is gonna be" I spat out sarcastically. Aurora just eyed my arms as she winced.

"Those look deep. " She muttered. My polo came off as I stared down my chest and torso the red running down in rivulets from the claw openings .

I winced as I tried touching them before Aurora smacked my palm away. Then she grabbed my polo and tossed it back at me.

"Let's go. My mum's a nurse I'll have her dress this up" she stated as he began aiding me put on the polo again.

"And say what exactly when she asks how this happened." I queried. She halted pondering it then stepped back as i stood.

"Let's get to my place. I'll do it myself. " She offered.

"It's cool I can do it back at my place" I assured.

"I'm not asking. We're going now, my mum's a doctor. So we've got enough medical supplies to bandage this up " .she hissed . I made  to speak but she just glared.

"Fine. The Philips house it is then. " I drawled. "how do we get there my bike's at school and ..."

"Leave that to me. You make your way to the roadside. Don't be seen." I'll get my car from the school parking lot." She commented.

"Wait. But school is ... " I stopped as my eyes found the time on my watch. It was already way past four. Was supposed to take food for my mum at the station.

"Aurora I need... " I stared at the spot she'd been finding no one. I grumbled and began walking forward my whole body aching from the beating I'd just gotten. The wounds stung as the fabric of my clothe rubbed against it making me want to pull it off. My polo would not see the light of day again looking like it went through an animal attack.

"Guess in a way that is true. " I muttered to myself as I kept walking. I got to the roadside just as she pulled up in a red Camaro and helped me into the back seat. Said something about hiding me especially since I was bloody and looked like I should be in the hospital.

"Shouldn't we you know be healing, I thought werewolves and vampires healed fast." I asked annoyed. She nodded.

"I heal fast. Got this burns yesterday, healed when I drank those guys blood. " Her tone dropped as usual then she looked through the rear mirror at me before continuing. "Maybe it's different for you wolves".

"And you think I got the better package"I muttered in annoyance. She remained quiet though not replying even though I knew she heard.

"Hey. " I started. She looked back at me through the rearview mirror. "We'll figure this out, it'll be fine." I assured her.

" You think?". She asked looking back at the road for a moment then back at me.

"We just fought off a mad she wolf and technically won on our second day as supernaturals. I think we can do this, like you said we just gotta watch our backs." I stretched a palm that burned and patted her driver seat.

"Together"she said looking at me.

"Yup. Together" I cracked my head feeling the cheesiness of the word and settled back my eyes finding the wound on my hand and looking it over. The wound that slowly and slightly inched together. 'Well what do you know, wolves did heal fast after all.' A subtle smile inched along my face.
