Chapter seventeen

New place

Laura was discharge at the hospital, Jakes accompanied her to get her belongings to her home.

Laura's father said "you think you will survive a day without me, I raise you little ungrateful bastard, when you leave her don't ever come back and I will be here waiting for a phone call informing me you're dead because of starving. "

Laura said "that won't happen, I will come back here one day to show you that I live through this hell survived and I'm successful without you."

Laura's father said "wait, until you step out of this house, you will remember me and all this big dreams you have won't come true, people like you and me nothing good happens to them."

Laura said "I have to go, stay well."

"I raise you Laura, you're nothing without me, your mother would have been disappointed at you, you can't handle few word's I said the world will deal with you" Laura's father shouting, Laura kept walking didn't look back.

Jakes said "are you alright?"

Laura said "I'm fine, start of new things in my life and I'm so excited."

Jakes said "your father shouting, what's that about?"

Laura said "I don't care, he can shout and insult me but it ends today, I will no longer be controlled by him or even be abused by him."

Jakes said "let me drive you to your new place."

They got to the new place where Laura will be staying and was this the right thing to do move out instead of trying hard to fix things with her father.

Jakes said "we are here, this flat does not look like is in a good condition."

Laura said "let's get inside first and look."

Jakes said "No hot water, the smell here it is so bad and the bugs. Who pays money to live like this?"

Laura said "I did Jakes."

Jakes said "sorry, you don't have to live here, the windows are broken and it's not a safe environment for you. Women and children are killed out there every day."

Laura said "I will clean it up now, the windows cover it with paper and I will be safe and I know some defence skills I will be fine. "

Jakes said "you have an answer for everything woman and you are just being difficult right now."

Laura said "Thank you Jakes for everything, I need to clean this place instead of wasting time talking. "

Jakes said "call me if you change your mind, I can pay for you to stay at the hotel or buy you an apartment."

Laura said "I know but thank you."

Jakes arriving at his place and his father was worried about him.

Jakes's father said "where you have been its late, you should tell me or the helper here that you will miss dinner, they set up the table and the chef cooked your favourite dishes you don't bother to call or text me."

Jakes said "sorry, I was helping Laura move to her new place."

Jakes's father said "how long have you been dating her now you bought her a new place to stay."

Jakes said "I wish I could do that, she does not want me to do that."

Jakes's father said ���that's great, you should know if she likes you or that you come from wealth family."

Jakes said " me and her are not dating, nothing great about this and that place is a damp no human being should live like this not my Laura."

Jakes's father said "let her stand on her own, you should not associate with such people son, you don't belong into her world."

Jakes said "I hope you are not talking about her race because she is black, her world, what do you know about that world and all you care about is money getting filth rich."

Jakes's father said "clearly this girl is wrong for you, I suggest you control your emotions and think about what you said as for her race I could care less if she is black, Indian, whatever race that's there I am not racist."

Jakes said "what's there to think about you once struggle in your life, and your parent's were poor but act like you came from rich family."

Jakes's father said "yes, look where I am at, the world doesn't owe anyone a thing, I did this by myself build this empire no one helped me out."

Jakes said "I don't have time for this, I should be out there forcing Laura out of that place, and I need to think."

Jakes's father said "to think I chose you over your sister, just don't know if you will run this empire."

Jakes couldn't sleep or eat was worried about Laura, she needs to eat well no stress, what will she eat. He stayed up all night praying and it was not what he normal does. He prayed when his mother died and now for Laura. She is not dying people Jakes must be worried for him to be on his knees and praying.

"Seems like I come to you with troubles My Mother dying, nothing you could do about that, it was time just don't like how she died. My Mother would say I should speak from my heart. I just don't know want to say, please keep Laura safe, I pray that I will be able to help her, make her smile. I love her, just crazy right, we are totally different, different world but we do have things in common. She is great, smart. I don't know if I'm allowed to talk about being in love, how great she is. Forgive me lord I promise I will figure out how this works I mean praying. Life is so hard and gets complicated sometimes, she just need someone like me. Please heal her. Thank you, I hope my mother is dancing in heaven. Well white was a favourite colour she is dressed in white I think. Will talk someday, can't lie to you hopefully by then I will know how to pray and meaning of pray." Amen. "So I can sleep now or try to." Jakes said.
