To make things look real, Erica still ran to the warning signs of the mountainsides even though she did not intend to warn Selena.

She took in her surroundings and a trace of shrewdness flashed in her eyes.

She did not run with all her might. With her speed, Selena should have already entered the prohibited zone.

As soon as Erica saw the signs warning of the landmines, the smile on her mouth deepened.

Sure enough, as Dr. Lyons had said, it was dangerous. There was a solid chance of stepping on a landmine.

It was what Erica had wanted. It was how she would achieve her goal.

Erica turned around and returned to the military infirmary.

She did not run particularly fast, but she feigned exhaustion.
