" I don't really know how to cook but I would love to learn," Layla said softly when the atmosphere started getting weird again. Jaden had had enough "Miss Sophia, I think your parents must be waiting for you now," he said in a dismissive tone, even the most shameless person wouldn't stay where she wasn't wanted, Sophia just got up and stormed off, she had implied here that she lived alone so her parents couldn't be waiting for her but it seemed no one cared, she also forgot that she just told them now that her parents were waiting for her.

She didn't even bother saying a word to them as she left.

"what about your food, Sophia come on, don't take Jaden, I mean Jordan seriously, he's not always like this" Layla didn't even know what she was saying she had only met him today, she just didn't want Sophia to feel bad. "let her go, friend, I don't like her " Jaden pleaded with Layla, " I don't understand you, how can you treat a lady that badly, you were being very careless with your words and hurt her, I mean how can you be so inconsiderate, you know what? I'm out of here, it was nice meeting you, see you around" Layla said in an exasperated tone, she got up to leave but Jaden immediately stopped her, he was alarmed, this Sophia had done more harm than good to him and if he lost Layla because of her he would not hesitate to deal with that fool, she was his biggest mistake and he could only spare her because it was thanks to her that he met Layla here. He swore in his heart that he would not spare her if Layla left him now "Layla I'm sorry, you just don't know that girl, trust me, she is not a good girl, she deserved every single word I said to her and even more, remember the crazy thing I was to tell you before? That's my date, we were to meet for the first time today but she stood me up for hours. I have been discussing with her for some time now, she's a very proud and unpleasant person, she has no regard for anybody and she's unreasonable and dangerous, please if you ever meet her, be sure to keep your distance, I actually tried so long to get rid of her but I didn't have a valid excuse, we met on a dating site and decided to give it a go, she wasn't a bad looker and appeared to be obsessed about me, I didn't mind too much because I thought she was nice, but that's not the case, it's a long and complicated story" Jaden explained this patiently as he held Layla's wrist.

"Wow, you should have told me earlier, I had no idea she was your date, how could this possibly get more interesting? But Jaden I don't think she is that bad, at least meet up with her and try to study her in person, maybe she's not as bad as you claim" Layla said as her eyes lit up, she started picturing the two of them together, though something didn't seem to fit right, she wasn't willing to let go, "no thanks honey, I know her enough already and you wouldn't understand, you're so naive, you can't even tell when someone has an evil intention against you, come on let's enjoy this food" Jaden said sharply, he didn't want Layla to just leave, Jaden didn't know Layla couldn't leave because she hadn't paid for her food and she still needed his phone to call her brother, she Didn't even know how to get to her house now.

"Ok let's finish this feast" Layla beamed and sat down. They continued talking about things they loved and they bonded well because most of their interests were similar. Jaden only fell over and over again for Layla as they continued discussing, he treasured the sight of her speaking and took in every detail from how her mouth moved to how her eyes lit up every time she thought of something she loved, he couldn't get tired of adoring her even if he spent the whole day looking at her, she was so pure and full of innocence, he wanted to shield her forever.

"Can I please use your phone now?" Layla begged, and Jaden happily gave her the phone, she dialed her elder brother's number and waited for some time, the call didn't seem to go through as she had a little frown on her face when she returned his phone. "What happened, is everything ok?" Jaden asked out of concern, "No qualms, it's all good, it seems like my big brother doesn't wanna pick up the call, it makes a lot of sense since the number is a strange one, I'll try again letter, or leave him an emergency message, let's just continue" Layla replied. Jaden realized that he still didn't know much about Layla and that if she had just left, finding her might not be easy " Layla can I please have your phone number?" he asked, and before Layla could reply he suddenly heard someone call her name. "Brother You're back! How did you find me?" Layla asked as she leaped on her brother without a care in the world, she was surprised her brother found her so quickly, she didn't even know he was already in the city, she just wanted him to get to the driver so he could bring over her stuff and pick her up too, she didn't expect him to come and fetch her. Vincent was a little bit mad at his silly sister but didn't have the heart to scold her and they were in public, he was worried when he just arrived and the driver informed him that Layla decided to stray off on her own without taking anything with her, but the driver was wiser this time and followed her. He heard someone calling him but didn't bother to pick up or even check his phone, Vincent thought it might be one of the companies that wanted to arrange a business appointment with him to meet up and give them contracts or invest. Once Vincent entered the restaurant, his weary countenance immediately changed and he now looked unfathomable, the temperature of the room dropped, the moment he saw his beloved sister sitting and merrily chatting with someone he had never seen before, when he called her, his voice was cold enough to send chills down the spine of those who weren't close to him, he had attracted quite some attention when he stepped in as his looks couldn't be rivaled with anyone's in this whole restaurant when his sister jumped on him, he relaxed as he caught her," her habit of pouncing on me will never end, even when she gets old" Vincent thought in his mind and his lips curved up a little, "let's go home now" he said without even for once taking a glance at Jaden. " Okay Vince, but you have to settle my bill, and hey look! I just got myself a striking friend, his name is Jaden and he's so much fun to be with, he looked after me well" Layla said smiling.

Vincent just gave Jaden a dead glare and asked Layla's driver to settle the bill as he dragged her out. When Jaden couldn't see Vincent's back anymore, he let out his breath, he didn't even know he had held it for so long, what was that look? Layla's brother didn't even talk to him, he was about to say something when Layla introduced him but immediately changed his mind when he saw how her brother looked at him and he didn't even give him time to think, how scary! Jaden had been confident until now that no one could beat him in terms of looks in this city, but right now all he wanted to do was find a hole and hide, Layla's brother was still a young man but had a strong and imposing aura, he looked like an immortal, he was so good looking and charming even female beauty wouldn't dare compare, he was just bewitching and the moment Jaden saw him, he instantly felt poor and ugly, he cried inwardly as he didn't even get the chance to tell his little angel goodbye.

he remembered something and suddenly rushed to the driver who had settled both their bills and was now walking off "Excuse me, mister, Layla and I would be very grateful if you give me her phone number now" Jaden said desperately, he was hoping that the driver would give it, as he mentioned Layla's name. The driver was scared of this good-looking man who seemed cold, but he knew his boss, the young CEO would punish him heavily and fire him if he gave out any information so he just walked off without saying anything, leaving Jaden extremely downcasted. He had just met this girl today but felt like he knew everything about her, Jaden had never felt this way towards Sophia, his mom was the one that set up his profile in a dating app and linked them up, the pressure was too much so he decided to give it a try, he had been speaking with Sophia for a while now and thought their relationship might only progress after they meet in person, Jaden wasn't the type who believed in true love at first sight but now he knew without anyone telling him that he had fallen head over heels for Layla.
