Fateful Night

Susu entered the address that she wanted to go to on his GPS app. After Lily, Lin Que, Ariana and Chen Nan had settled in one car, Chen Mu began to drive. Along the way, Susu played the music playlist from her phone.

The first song that played was Don't Say Goodbye by Laura Oakes. This song was the same one that her grandpa had said her grandma used to love back in their good old days. During these few days, she asked and learned a lot about her grandparents.

She saw photos of her grandparents when they were younger and heard the sweet little stories between the old couple. Whenever she asked about her grandma, he would show a wide smile and tell her more.

Once she got her hands on that song, she replayed it over and over. At this moment with Chen Mu in the car with her, the lyrics seem to breathe and live on its own as her eyes closed to feel the emotions from the song. Subconsciously, she sang along until they've arrived at the destination.

When the song finished playing for the 5th time, her eyes opened and her lips curved up, "we're here. Let's go." She exited the car after he had parked it and guided him into a newly built condo building.

Across the street from that building, Lily and Ariana stared out of the window as they watched them walk in. Chen Nan and Lin Que suggested to follow them. Of course, that thought was rejected right away as the girls finally explained what they heard from Susu to them.

While the guys frowned, Ariana's phone went off. The sudden blast of bombing sound effects alarmed the crowd. Everyone jumped from their seats and almost ran out of the car.

"Relax. It's just Grandpa Xia." Ariana waved her hand as if they were overreacting. Everyone patted their chest and heaved a sigh.

She swiped to pick up the call, "hello, Grandpa? Ah..right! Yea, I remember. I was too concentrated on Susu recently that I forgot to tell you that I've found the people already. Mhmm...mhmm. Uh huh, okay. Alright. I'll send you their information right away and track down their location. No problem. Bye bye."

A second after that call ended, she took out her laptop from her bag and began to type random coding logs on her screen. Lin Que and Chen Nan watched from the front seats with a stunned expression. Even though only Lily got to view the screen, the guys could tell by her lightning hand movements that she was a professional in whatever she was doing.

Lily's mouth formed an oval shape as her eyes blurred from the codes on the blackened screen. "W..what the.."

In a matter of minutes, Ariana finished her task and pressed enter to reveal several locations with red dots on the map. Not only that, the people whom she was looking for showed up almost instantly. She had their profiles and personal data gathered and sent to an email.

After that, she gave him a follow up call, "Hi, Grandpa Xia. Yes, everything is sent already. I've already distributed the targets to the secret base team. They should be on their way. You can contact Mr. Huang and let him know that we figured out the list he wanted. Yup. Alright, goodnight."

The moment she lifted her head, she met three pair of eyes staring right at her. "W..what?" she asked nervously and looked uncomfortable with the sudden attention.

Chen Nan answered, "you're impressive. Which company did you hack into this time?"

"Che! I only helped Huang Corps dig out the spies who has been recently releasing their private market plans and future projects to the marketplace. Mr. Huang had asked Grandpa Xia for this favor." She rubbed the tip of her nose as if she was proud that she wasn't cheating out companies anymore.

"Oh! You mean the guy with the thickest thigh in the capital, that Huang Zhi Hei? The guy who could turn every straight man gay and lesbian to being straight with his questionable preferences?" Lily claaped her hands together with adoring eyes.

"Yup. That's the man."

"Oh my!!! Years ago, I was lucky enough to see him at a socialite event! He was so gentlemen and danced with the lucky lady! i remember how she seemed to have been humiliated by some girl and her partner, so Mr. Huang stepped in! Gosh, he looked like a real life carved out statue!" Lily smiled and cupped her cheeks that were warming up.

Lin Que tilted his brow and handed her a handkerchief. Lily blinked and asked, "what?"

"You should wipe your saliva." He hmphed at her mesmerized expression.

"I don't need a handkerchief!" She rejected his offer and pushed his hand away.

"Ah, you're right! I should use my hands as a bowl before I buy you a bowl because your saliva will fill it up in no time. Did you forget you had a fiance, here? Hmmmm?" He crossed his arms and took back the handkerchief.

Ariana's lips twitched at how amazing this fiance could get when jealous corrupts his mind. He reminds her of Chen Nan acting like a comet had destroyed a portion of the earth that time when she looked at another man with a good body physique.

She patted Lily's shoulder, "he's clearly jealous of the gorgeous man."

"Right? Che, I only complimented his unique beauty. It's not like I would marry him or throw myself on him to make him mine. He's too beautiful to touch, and I'm not interested in anyone else but Mister Lin." She scoffed as she faced sideways towards the window.

Through the side mirror, she could see somebody's ear wiggling from joy. She smirked and thought, 'Hah, my darling is still as cute as always. So fun teasing.'

Meanwhile, at the hotel suite, Professor Luo Xia dialed Zhi Hei's number. After the first ring, Zhi Hei picked up the call, "Hello, Professor Luo Xia."

"Zhi Hei, I like to hear Grandpa Xia more. Anyways, I've sent you a list of names with confidential information about each of them. My secret team will send you everyone listed, and you can interrogate them however much you want."

"Oh! Thank you for helping me dig up the spies. I'll find out who is behind this."

"I've already got a name for you. Tian Guo Min." Professor Luo Xia's lips smirked evilly.

"I believe you, but I still need to have some fun torturing these fishes. Can you have your secret team send them to my private cruise by the dock? Thanks. I owe you big time." Zhi Hei responded before he hung up the call to prepare for a busy night.
