CHAPTER EIGHTY SIX

After work, they immediately went to town as they planned.

"Yanyan, I will meet you at the clothes shop. I have to go and look for Yuan first. I remembered, we were supposed to check his stables today."

Yanyan just raised her brows and smiled.

"Don't be long, okay? Don't forget about me." Yanyan giggled.

Feifei glared at Yanyan then went to the only yellow building in the town square.

Hopefully, Yuan hasn't left for home yet. If he is, he might be waiting for long.

The Law Enforcers Building.

When Feifei went inside, some men were busy, others were idle.

On the right side, there is a stairway.

On the left corner, there is a hallway that must lead to somewhere.

And all around were worktables, chairs, benches and cabinets. Tall cabinets. And a lot of them.

Feifei walked to the closest person on his left. Then he stopped halfway.

The man seems to be in a midst of an internal struggle. He was holding his head while biting the end of his pen.

Feifei walked passed him and went to the second nearest man who was blankly staring at the ceiling. He seems to be in a different kind of internal struggle too?

Feifei walked passed the second man as well and went to the third nearest man. Now, this man looks serious and busy.

He was seriously writing...or scribbling something but when Feifei got close, the man was actually softly laughing?

Its quite a marvel. He can actually laugh while his face shows a busy and serious expression.

Oh well, some people can even sleep with their eyes open.

Then some can also happily laugh with a serious expression.

Its a talent.

Feifei cleared his throat and waited for the man to notice him.

When the man looked up at him, the man was in a trance for a bit then smiled sheepishly at Feifei.

"How can I be of service, young lady?" The man asked with a smile.

"Hello, sir." Feifei gave a nod of greeting.

"I'm looking for Marshal Yu."

When people near the man heard the magical name "Yu", they all stopped and looked over at Feifei.

Then they walked close and joined the conversation.

They all looked at Feifei in confusion.

"Head Yu?"

Feifei also looked at them in confusion.

Head Yu? But Yuan clearly told him earlier he was just a Marshal, didn't he?

He only knows Village Head Yu. Is the village head the Head Marshal too? Feifei is baffled.

"No, just Marshal Yu."

The deputies was conflicted. They looked at Feifei with a complicated gaze.

This young, beautiful woman wouldn't be looking for Head Yu, right?

Head Yu may be a handsome man but he terrifies even the men. Much less the women.

And there has been no case of women looking for Head Yu. Ever.

When Feifei was about to ask the full name of their Head Yu, he heard some heavy footsteps behind her.

He looked over his shoulder and saw a lot of men coming down from the stairway on his right.

All men stopped and looked at Feifei for a bit.

Then some went out directly. Some still stared at him. While the others came over to him.

One of them was Marshal Han, Chief Liu and Marshal Qing Zhu.

When the deputies saw their leaders, they all stood at attention and greeted them one by one.

Marshal Han looked at Feifei with blatant admiration.

"Beautiful lady, do you need assistance?" Marshal Han smiled widely.

Feifei was overwhelmed by the stares of many men. He was very uncomfortable.

"Gentlemen, hello." He gave them a nod of greeting.

Feifei gave a glance at the man, to whom he was talking to earlier, then faced the leaders.

"I'm looking for Marshal Yu."

The leaders were stiff for a moment. As if shocked.

Feifei is again confused.

The reactions of all these people are quite consistent.

"Head Yu?" Chief Liu asked first.

Feifei frowned.

"I don't know if he is the person I'm looking for. But I'm looking for Yu Yuan." Feifei said distinctly.

CLASH!

CLATTER!

Feifei jumped when he heard the series of sounds around him!

He was also stunned to realize, all the people's eyes were centered on him!

Some were even gaping at him with wide unbelievable faces.

Feifei is now having goosebumps.

It seems like its not a good time to be here? Feifei inwardly thought.

Feifei cleared his throat awkwardly.

Chief Liu reacted first and feigned a coughed while covering his mouth with a fist.

"Lady, that's Head Yu."

"~oh~" Feifei was surprised. So Yuan is no ordinary Marshal.

He is the Head Marshal.

Chief Liu called over a deputy and asked him to go and ask Head Yu if its convenient to receive a guest.

A lady guest.

The deputy hurriedly walked to the left hallway and disappeared.

What if Head Yu doesn't want to see this woman and they brought her directly to Head Yu's private space?

Wouldn't that be a death sentence?

"Beautiful lady, why don't you sit down first while waiting?" Marshal Han motioned for a deputy to bring a chair.

"So...uh...are you close to Head Yu?" Marshal Han inquired.

A deputy lightly knocked on Yuan's door.

"Enter."

When the deputy heard what Yuan said, he slightly opened the door but did not enter.

"Head Yu, a beautiful woman is looking for you at the reception."

Yuan was already arranging his parchments and is about to go out.

He stopped what he was doing and frowned at the deputy.

A woman?

"Throw that woman out!" He softly ordered. Somewhat irritated.

When the deputy was about to close the door, Yuan suddenly panicked.

"Wait."

The deputy looked at Yuan instantly.

"You said beautiful. Does she have silver eyes?"

The deputy's mouth dropped and his eyes went wide with shock.

So Head Yu really does know that woman!

The deputy hurriedly nodded his head in affirmative.

Yuan groaned.

If the deputy threw Feifei out, wouldn't he suffer again from Feifei's endless chattering?

Yuan dusted his shirt and trousers and quickly went out.

Leaving the still shocked deputy behind.

When Yuan arrived in the front building reception, he sighed in relief.

Its really Feifei.

Good thing he stopped the deputy from throwing Feifei out.

His ears are safe.

If possible, he would like to steer clear from Feifei's chattering.

Feifei sat beside Marshal Han, Marshal Qing Zhu and Chief Liu Shou. The men were doing the talking while Feifei was listening, distracted.

Yuan slowly walked towards Feifei.

When Feifei heard the familiar sound of Yuan's heavy footsteps, he instinctively looked up at him and smiled brightly.

Feifei stood up instantly and walked to Yuan, meeting him halfway.

"Yuan." Feifei murmured softly.

"uhm." Yuan just hummed and looked down at him. His eyes were gentle.

"Thank heavens your still here. I thought I wouldn't be able to catch you. Yanyan is buying new clothes. I'm going to help her pick some. And it might take long." Feifei walked closer to Yuan and said in a soft voice.

Yuan frowned.

"Let's talk in my workstation."

Feifei waved his hand.

"No need. I just came here to tell you that." Then Feifei looked around. He just noticed the odd silence.

Seeing all the people is still busy and is concentrating on their work, Feifei can't help but admire these enforcers.

How very dedicated! No wonder their town is a very safe and peaceful place.

Yuan had it easy. Such commendable, hardworking people.

Seeing all these people are busy and not minding them, he pulled Yuan's arm. Silently asking him to bend down.

Yuan leaned down.

"It might be dark before I can go home. Don't wait for me." Feifei whispered in Yuan's ear.

Then Feifei quickly stepped back.

Yuan frowned.

Staying out until dark?

Yuan silently took Feifei's hand and lightly led her to the left hallway towards the building at the back.

Feifei was surprised but obediently went along.

What did they just witnessed?!!

The "busy" people, who Feifei sincerely praised, instantly jumped up to gossip!!

These "dedicated" people, whom Feifei admired, only put up a façade of being serious and hardworking but was actually eavesdropping on their conversation!

And now they are all in groups as they discussed what just happened.

They originally were very punctual when it comes to going off work.

But now, they couldn't be more than willing to stay and talk about what happened!

This might be the answer to Head Yu's broken lip!

This is big news!

The moment Yuan closed the door to his private workspace, he took Feifei's waist and kissed him hard on the lips.

After their hot kiss, Yuan lightly nipped Feifei's lips then released him.

Taking Feifei's hand, he led Feifei to one of the chairs and took the opposite chair across him.

"If you're going home late, let's just stay in my townhouse tonight."

"But I have to go to my house in Hisoki to get my bath barrel."

"Give Yanyan the keys and ask her to have the barrel delivered to Guhya tomorrow."

"Why not stay in Hisoki?"

"I don't think your house in Hisoki is as secluded as Shen's house which is located in the mountain. I don't want you to be the subject of everyone's gossip."

"Is your house here secluded?"

"I have neighbors but they don't know you. If they talk, at least they will be talking about my character not yours."

Feifei bit his lips.

"Don't bite your lips." Yuan ordered softly.

Feifei's gut tightened.

He looked up at Yuan. Then he smiled.

"I don't have a change of clothes."

"Your going to buy clothes with Yanyan anyway. Buy some for yourself too. Let's wash it tonight."

Feifei looked at Yuan suspiciously.

Yuan is not planning anything, is he?

"Okay." Feifei agreed with hesitation.

"Then I will look for you later." Yuan decisively concluded the matter.

I will buy lots of oil too. Yuan thought to himself.

"How will you know where I am?" Feifei asked dubiously.

Yuan just smiled.

Feifei looked at Yuan and was again about to say something when Yuan kissed him wet and hot.

Then Feifei forgot what he was about to say.

He was still thinking about what he was supposed to say but realized, Yuan already walked him out of the building!

Feifei looked at Yuan inexplicably.

"I will see you later." Yuan said softly then was gone.

It feels like Yuan doesn't want him to talk?

Is Yuan evading him?

Weird.

Feifei is confused.

While the lamb was confused, the wolf is already busy preparing how to eat the confused lamb..
