Unsolved Mystery

The mystery of the gem remained a mystery. A victorious night got converted into a defeated night. Adder's thought of getting that gem by killing Abigor was proved wrong. Complete silence covered that place. Adder stood still and bunch of questions unfurled his mind. Whole forest got surrounded with the loud scream of Adder . Becky too heard that sound, she was sitting under a aged tree which had creaking branches. She was convulsed with fear, tears rolled down from her eyes, she knew Abigor is dead but still she had that hope that he will return. Lots of thoughts unfurled her mind and few hours later she fell into a deep sleep. Iris was sleeping into her arms.

Dappled sun shine through the trees, creating mysterious shadows, Another day had dawned bringing with it new hopes and aspirations. Becky rubbed her bleary eyes and woked up Iris. That small girl woke up with a pleasant smile on her face. She was unaware of everything that happened yesterday's night. With a light pleasant voice she said"Good morning mommy ".

" Good morning honey"said Becky.

Seeing herself and Becky in the forest she got confused. "What are we doing here and where is daddy? " asked Iris.

Becky knew she couldn't tell the truth to this little child. She lied to her daughter and said "Your dad got a new job in another country, and he had to urgently go there".Iris face lost the sparkle and she became sad, she couldn't understand that why his father left without meeting her. Becky stood up,her heart was heavy with pain but she couldn't cry because she has to be strong for her daughter. She holds Iris hand and moved towards the road, there she stopped a taxi and went to their old house. Iris Shiveringly said"Why we have came here mom? ".

" This is our house that is why we have came here"said Becky.

With hesitation on her face she entered the house holding her mother's hand.

Days passed, Iris always waited for her father. Becky was tensed up because day by day Iris was loosing her sparkle and was becoming dull. Iris situation was becoming worse, all day she used to sit in a room looking out side the window and waiting for her father.

One day a Postman leaves the letter at the door as usual and this was the first time Becky went to take. Earlier, Abigor used to take it.

Becky saw only one letter, she opened it, read it. A smile spread on her face, her eyes were enlightened with new hopes.

Becky's heart leaped up for joy and she called Iris downstairs. She gave her the letter to read. Iris mood lightened and her spirits brightened. That letter cheered her soul and why not because she came to know about her grandparents. With a joyful voice she said "Mom.. let's go to meet my grandparents."

"Yeah honey we will definitely go", said Becky. Iris was buzzing with happiness, seeing her happy Becky had no words for the gratitude she felt. But although she said Iris that they will be going there to meet her grandparents but she wasn't sure that they should go or not. Becky remembered the truth of that place. Once again Iris told Becky to go, she couldn't resist her words because after such a long time she was too happy. Finally Becky decided to call her in-laws.

"Yes who is speaking?", asked Mr. Jackson Hale.

"Yes this is Becky Hale, your daughter in law", said Becky.

Mr. and Mrs. Hale were suffused with happiness, they couldn't believe that there son had a family. Becky told them about Iris. They were intoxicated with joy and the only thing which they demanded was to meet Iris.

Finally the day came, Becky and Iris were ready to move Darva. Iris eyes were glowing with excitement and delight. With a happy voice Iris said "Mom.. tell dad that we are going to his parents house, he will feel happy".Becky had no expression on her face but for the sake of her child she smiled. They reached airport, they boarded the plane and after covering a distance of 3,974 km they reached there.

" Mom let's go", said Iris.

Becky booked a taxi and they started their journey towards Darva. Becky was very tensed up and she said "Every place has a history and a mystery, always know the history and never get afraid of the Mysteries".

" Why are you speaking like this Mommy?", asked Iris. The night was getting deeper and Iris could now feel the fatigue and dizziness. Finally she slept in her mother's arm. The inside of the taxi was enveloped with silence, After four hours of complete travel they reached their destination. The climate of that village was very pleasant. That village was a perfect paradise of beautiful things. Becky and Iris moved towards their house. Iris spirits were brightened. But Becky hesitantly said "Why it's too dark here? ".

Suddenly the lights on and their house was decorated. Village people welcomed them, they danced, sung together. Iris shouted " Mimi, Papa". She ran so fast as if she had to catch a train.
