Hundred and eleven. Losing her child
Jackson walked into Elijah's study after a calm knock on the door. He bowed respectfully to his boss and began reported,
"Boss, it's done" he said.
Elijah raised his head, taking his eyes away from the picture in his hands. He looked at Jackson who was clad in black clothes, looking dangerous but friendly. His type was what one would define as a green snake in a green grass. Elijah was really impressed with the way he organized things, and he couldn't help but compare him with Alvin in his heart. He liked how Jackson was a bit arrogant but Alvin was so loyal that it was scary. He liked the vibe he got from Jackson but that didn't take his heart away from Alvin. "How's Monalissa?", Elijah asked.
"She didn't get hurt. But, she must have been scared enough to cost the thing in her stomach" Jackson stated.
Elijah nodded with a smirk. "Good job Jack. Where's Noel?" he asked.
"He was taken away boss, by them" Jackson replied.
Elijah's brows shut up in horror. His eyes spewed needles, sharp enough to render Jackson dead. "You say?"
"But don't worry boss. They would never harm him. Monalissa loves him enough. She won't let anything happen to him" Jackson assured.
"You should go and pick him up" Elijah said.
"Yes boss", he said and left the office.
Elijah leaned back into his seat. He really loved Monalissa and hoped that this won't cost her, her life. If she lost the child, that would benefit him, as he couldn't watch her bear a child for Ezekiel.
Noel was sobbing in helplessness and didn't take his eyes away from the entrance of the mall. He was held by the hand by one of Ezekiel's bodyguard and could only look on. Hanabi was inside the car with Luke who was trying to calm her down.
"Hana, please, calm down" he urged.
"Mona has a child.... What if..." she trailed off.
Luke pulled her into his arms consolingly, allowing her to sob.
Some bodyguards walked into the mall with Ezekiel who was stilled to the bones. He was in a daze as he walked to the place where the wall had fallen. The hefty men had finally lifted the wall halfway, enough for one to see what was under the wall.
With his heart in his mouth, Ezekiel lowered himself on his knees, his eyes settling under the wall. However, it was empty. Ezekiel finally breathed. He stood immediately and looked around. He sighted the golden sandals and went over to pick it up. The crowd recognized him as Ezekiel Don, the most influential man in the country. They were quite shocked as they couldn't believe that he would be here. But then, what was he doing here anyways?
"Isn't that Mr Don? What's he doing here?" one of the customers asked another.
"He's also picking up the sandals... And it looks like a female's own. Could that be his wife?" another person chimed in.
"But it was never heard that he was dating talk more of getting married. Who's she then that he looks so concerned and crestfallen for?" someone else asked.
Ezekiel who was in a world of his own, couldn't hear what they were saying. He picked up the sandal and followed the trail. Two shelves after the one where he had found the sandal, he found Monalissa sprawled on the floor, her hand on her belly, tears streaming from her eyes.
"Master" she called him hoarsely. She couldn't move actually. Ezekiel felt his blood freeze at the sight of Monalissa lying down on the floor in such sorry state. The glaring red color on her skyblue maxi dress which seated in between her legs. The sandal fell from his hand and he immediately rushed to her side, lifting her cute head into his arms.
"Monalissa..." he muttered her name.
"Master...please save my baby. Please, I don't want to lose it" she pleaded huskily, clutching his arm tightly.
Ezekiel swallowed painfully. "Okay" he said . Standing up with her in his arms, he walked out of the mall, leaving the crowd to their own bewilderment.
"Who's she?" a member of the crowd asked another person.
"His wife or maybe mistress?" someone else opined. However, this was their own headache to cure as Ezekiel was in no mood for their gossips.
The moment Hanabi sighted Ezekiel walking out of the mall with a woman in his arms, she broke from Luke's embrace and stepped out of the car. She stood in front of the car and waited for him to arrive. Luke also came down due to Hanabi's franticness.
"Boss" she sobbed.
Ezekiel didn't say anything to her. He reached the car. Luke immediately opened the car door for him.
"Call Doctor Maya, let her be at the gardens before I get there. Tell her it's an emergency" he ordered.
"Yes Boss" Luke replied and went forward to do as he was told.
One of the bodyguards came and sat in the driver's seat immediately and ignited the car. Ezekiel boarded the car immediately.
"The gardens" he ordered.
"Yes Boss" the driver answered and set the car in motion.
Hanabi fell on her knees and cried really hard. "Monalissa!!!" she wailed. She couldn't believe what was happening. They were just on a shopping trip. She suddenly looked at Noel who was standing next to the car with a bodyguard. Hatred swarmed in. And without a thought, she went after him. However, Luke was fast and stopped her before dhe could do anything rash.
"Hanabi!" he called her.
"It's all his fault! I knew he was up to something! I do not ever want to see him close to Monalissa again!" Hanabi cried loudly, enough for little Noel to hear.
The little boy had seen Ezekiel walk out with his pretty sister in his arms. That scared him to the veins and bones. He prayed silently that nothing would happen to her, however, Hanabi's next words sent his heart to a swing.
"What if she loses her baby?! Whose fault then? I'm to blame too. I shouldn't have let her. I shouldn't have let her go on this shopping! Her little one!" Hanabi cried.
This was the last straw for Noel. He began whimpering and finally cried out. His little heart was so tiny that he couldn't bear it. He would have been a little uncle. But he... killed him?
