The Scar

From there on, Liliane starts to explain a lot of things that concerns us, what happened to her after we were separated, how her situation was, how she survived, how she met Yuhan and the others, how she lived from there on, and many more. Garen's heart felt heavy as he listens to the girl's struggle, the corner of his eyes heating up with the urge to shed tears from the extreme sadness he felt for every word she used to describe it, he breathed deep, trying to keep his heart alive from the pain he felt simply imagining Liliane's own suffering. Liliane who understood Garen's emotions, softly caressed his back as she spoke.

"After that day you went berserk in school, a lot of children were injured badly... Including me... I was rushed to an emergency treatment." Liliane says.

The way how the blood continued to drip from the wound on her nape, she remembers how warm it was while the rest of her body slowly turning pale and cold, the tips of her fingers and toes gone numb, and her vision was darkenning for every ring of siren noises that also soon, slowly faded out along with her consciousness.

*Beep... beep... beep...* The noise that resounds as soon as she opened her eyes, vision still hazy, and there was no ounce of strength in her whole body, not even able to breath properly, she breathes through the help of an oxygen mask.

Liliane's first instinct was to cry from the lingering, stinging pain on her neck, she felt her fear relapsing back as Garen's image continues to display so vividly in her head. The beeping noise plays faster and sharper and soon alarmed the medical staffs to rush to her side. She didn't know what they did but, she soon fell back to sleep afterwards.

The next time she woke up, her mother was already by her side, crying. When her mother saw her awake, she cried Liliane's name and called the medics to the room.

"Your daughter's vitals are slowly getting better. As per her reaction last time, she is suffering from the physical and emotional trauma gained from that event. For now, it's better to continuously monitor her vitals and her usual shots will be continued." The doctor explains.

"Alright..." Liliane's mother bows her head down to the doctor and looked at Liliane, her worried expression reflected a hint of disdain in her eyes.

"What about that boy who did this to her? Her mother asks.

"According to witnesses, the boy awakened so suddenly that he lost control. We checked his pheromones and he seems to be a medium-level alpha." He says and Liliane was confused.

Liliane knows that Garen awakened for a year now and it was nothing new, she felt helpless that she tries to imagine what happened afterwards. Liliane thought that Garen must've threaten everyone with tbe use of his pheromones, commanding everyone to never say a thing. Liliane felt contempt and injustice that helplessness prevented her to act upon.

"The verse is taking precautions by also placing alphas within the primary teacher staffs to counter any more cases such as this." The doctor explained for the last time before he left.

Liliane's mother followed the doctor and was left there, staring at the white ceiling as she listens to the beeping sound of the machine.

Liliane felt resentful and betrayed by Garen but, as the resounding sound in the room continues to play and the white color she stared to was washing out the contents in her mind, she slowly felt numbness taking over her soul.

A month later, her body's condition have gotten better, her classmate, Ziel came to visit her. She never expected any visits specially from someone she was not that close at all. Ziel tells her how she was concerned as to what happened because she was absent at that time, she felt bad for Liliane specially, she knew of what was going on with the two. Ziel attempted to get close to her and comfort her.

"Liliane, you like any sort of stories right? Do you perhaps like anime?" Ziel asks and there was no response from Liliane who continued to look like a lifeless doll.

"I saw you watching in your tablet one time, you seem to like this character-" Ziel spoke and continued to share stories that she loves.

Ziel visited almost everyday and continued to do so, talking with her, Liliane slowly regains life in her eyes but, there was still this bitterness that lingered after what happened. Liliane slowly learned to talk again and it was for the first time, she shared both her and Garen's story to another person. Ziel listened and understood their tale and she resented Garen in Liliane's stead. When there are times that Ziel curses Garen, Liliane would eventually defend the boy and she just couldn't help bur be reminded of his goodness before the tragedy.

With the help of the continued daily shots given to her, she recovered within three months but, there were times that Liliane would relapse to numbness specially when the night veils the sky. She felt empty as she stared at the darkness of the night but, pain hunts her as soon as Garen's soft voice would whisper from her memories. She continued to have this confusion with the meaning of her life, she felt extremely painful whenever she thinks of him as everything that Liliane knew of the world, reminds her of the boy.

The night sky that was the color of his hair, the days that they shared under the daylight, the clouds that made them imagine of wonderful stuffs, the leaves that fall on their faces as they lie down below the tangerine tree, the grasses, the flowers, and the fresh air that she breathes, everything was filled with traces of Garen.

"I hate you..." She repeatedly spoke in murmurs as if attempting to place her self in an enchantment, a sort of hypnotism. She hated Garen as much as she loved him.

Garen was her world, her haven, her solace, her sun, her life. Garen was her everything, her friend, her love, her family.

Liliane's mother did show concern for her but, that only lasted for a while, like a duty she needed to be fulfilled and abandoned once done. Liliane couldn't help but think that maybe her mother's true worry was the piling amount of expenses the longer Liliane stayed admitted in the hospital. At nights like these, Liliane would also remember her mother's words and reminders.

One time, Liliane had a fever and her body felt so heavy that she miraculously didn't want to go to school, having to miss a day that she could've spent with Garen. Her fever brought her pain from the extreme heat that burns her skin. Liliane remembers how she struggled to speak, tears were flooding her vission from the heat in her eyes, and how she was barely holding her own body to stand up and ask permission from her mother to take a leave.

"You should still go if your body still can... It's such a waste to take absence... Child, are you sure you can't do it? " Her mother asks with a problematic gaze.

Liliane already expected such a reaction from that woman, she already expected to have her hope be let down once more yet, there was this hope as a child, to gain concern from her mother, to feel care...

Liliane never answered the question her mother asked. That woman was not asking for confirmation, she was telling Liliane to try and go to school in spite of her condition.

Liliane helplessly dragged her self to school but, was accompannied back home by a kind school guard before she could ever step inside the school. Liliane really resented her mother at those times. She couldn't help but let tears tread down on her burning cheeks from the heat in her eyes and the pain from her dejected heart.

After she reached home, she struggled to type a message with her blurry vision and dizzy head to inform Garen of her absence. Garen's silly chat asking her for the reason of her absence and checking up on her condition brought comfort to her heart at the very least.

[ I hope you get well soon!]

[Let's play and I'll treat you to food!]

[Okay?]

He sent her this simple message and the hatred that Liliane felt in her heart slowly dissipates.
