Rebellion part 3

It took an additional 4 weeks of planning for the war, most of it is more political than actual Strategic planning. For example even though I could transport most of the army to the sieges, we did not do that no they wanted to use their own navies.

Tywin was very vocal that his men be leading the sieges, even though most of his navy was burned in the begin of the war.

Besides the planning our time was spent dealing with all the other Lords and the many tournaments that followed the campaign. The interest in the Flagship was varying, at the start every lord was was asking how it worked and if they could buy one. But that Interest did not last when I just straighten said it was magic, most of the worshipers of the seven did not want anything to do with them. Though the Dornish lords while more apprehensive but still came and talked to me.

This gave me way more space from the lords except the interesting ones, and Robert and I do not like King Robert, Not just his unfaithfulness and drunkenness though that did annoy me on principle I am all for having the occasional drink but cheating is something I can not stand.

He demanded that he get a tour of Lyanna Revenge, so of course I had to give him a tour and pretend to laugh at his jokes.

Of the interesting lords that came and talked to me the most interesting was on Oberyn Martell The Sand Snake. Who had been sent in his brothers stead as he is suffering of gout.

——————————————————————————

Oberyn-" Lord Halvard, it is wonderful to meet you in person! I had heard rumors of the North employing magic users but I didn't believe them till I saw your what did I call it an Airship. And thank you, your medicines have helped my brother quite a lot with dealing his pain."

Mc-"It is truly nice to meet you Prince Oberyn. Send your brother my well wishes about his condition, and I am assuming that you have questions about magic."

Oberyn-"Yes, I have traveled for some time and seen some magic before, but that is one of the most amazing things I have ever seen."

Mc-"Would you like a tour?"

——————————————————————————

I made a quick friends with Oberyn, since I was not at the same level of social standing as Ned and I couldn't stand the king. We most just traded stories, he told me about his travels all over Dorne and Essos. He did flirt with me and offer to sleep with me, but I declined and said I was spoken for.

We did speak about serious topics about starting formal trade between Dorne and the North, as we both had what the other wanted. We had ice and furs that we could ship via sea or sky, while they had a variety of spices and raw goods we wanted like oil.

When we were speaking about what Dorne had that the North didn't have much of that we would need oil was the biggest. We did have some but not at the scale I would want.

But we both agreed once the war was over we woeful talk to our lords him his brother me Ned.

The more we talked the more we found out that The North and Dorne had quite a bit in common. They like us were separate from the rest of the Seven kingdoms culturally.

I did of course invite him and his wife to our wedding and offered him our servers of mail to send a letter to his wife and children. Like we offered all the men in the army were we sent a Airships back to the North full of letters and care packages.

——————————————————————————

The battle strategy that our oh so wise king I.e Jon Arryn decided that the North would take Old Wyk and with the help of the Dornish they would take Great Wyk. While the rest of the armies took the rest of the Island.

We had no problem with this as the Dornish only sent a token force of 500 men and they knew that. Oberyn was just excited to ride the ship, Ned was a little upset at Jon Arryn about snubbing our success and suggestions about the war. Do to him not trusting us to keep the piece and keeping the status quo of the kingdom as the North was upsetting the scales.

I really did not care as the sooner the war was down the sooner I could go home. As my wives were very pregnant and I missed both of my daughters birthdays for the first time.

I sent word via Falcon to get the ships ready and send half to Old Wyk and to Great Wyk. And to take it slow as by the time we get frown with the fighting the sieges of the other island will just be starting.

——————————————————————————

The trip to Great Wyk we had little issues of our own, but the same could not be said about the Dornish many learn that they are terrified of heights. Oberyn was having the time of his life, he would just look over the railing as the world went by with a huge grin on his face.

When I asked why he was enjoying it so much he said.

"When I was a child and learned of Dragons me and my sister begged father for one, but sadly they had long died out and with them my dreams of flying with them. But you changed that with these airships. But is just wish Elia could have risen them."

"I wish I could have been their during the rebellion, Oberyn to save them, but I will tell you something that is Neds greatest shame. A day does not go by that he wish he was in time to stop it.

You know that I do not like the king for many many reasons, but not condemning the mountain to death for those murders is why I will I will make you a promise that the mountain will not survive this war. He will suddenly disappear during the attack on Pyke."

He didn't say anything, he just gave me a nod and turned to horizon with tears in his eyes.

——————————————————————————

By the time we reached the Southern edge of Great Wyk, the rest of the Army had taken complete control over the Old Wyk and had stared the campaign in the North of the island.

Oberyn was very interested in the tactics we used on the island, Ned and I both spoke to him and his men on how they were to conduct themselves to the locals. No looting and raping we were liberators not conquers, the Dornish had no issues with this and like us wanted to find any Dornish women who had been taken and sent back home.

After the first siege, Oberyn approached Ned and I.

"That...was one of the most terrifying and awe inspiring things I have seen."

Ned-"Aye, it is Oberyn no matter how many time I see it, it does not stop being terrifying.

They both then look over at me.

Mc-"Hey, when I first thought these thing up it was so I would not have to ride a horse to much and the reason for so many was each fo my wives wanted one as a wedding gift."

That got a laugh from the two men. We sat their for some time talking about our families, and how we should progress in the war and what we should do with the lands and the Ironborn.

Oberyn-"The Ironborn have been a blight on the Seven Kingdoms, for millennia and why we did not do this before I will not know. As for what to do with them I do not know.

Ned-"With the Northen Army destroying all the castles it will take many many years for them to very try this again. But, from how Lord Hand acted I think they will get off with a slap on the wrist.

Mc-"I say that we should give every kingdom one fo the island, and let them manage them. Think about it that way we could keep an eye on them, and Ned if we get Great Wyk it will be a good trade post for here so we can skip the Westerlands and go straight to Dorne. Maybe eventually we can convert these people to the Old Gods, because I am destroying those Nagi bones when we get their."

Our campaign for the island was only 2 weeks long as most of that of that time was travel, as the island did not have anything close the Rodas of the North. When we sent word to the king about this and said we could take Pyke with the week.

King Robert told us to hold, the letter was written by him but it was not his words. So we waited for months, all for them to siege one island that we could have taken in hours.

Our men are fine just bored, so I sped up the release of some products. A lot of board games were given out, monopoly with Planetos locations, werewolf and even Dungeons and Direwolves (DND). Record players, with songs of the north and a bunch of songs from my old world, even Audiobooks for those who could not read. A whole lot of novels of every type, romance, fantasy, sci-fi anything to keep the men occupied.

Ned really liked detective novels, he said that he liked to figure out who did it first before the detective. Oberyn loved romance books and said they gave him inspiration for later.

The girls were a little annoyed that I released them early but understood why I did. They just had to move up their time line of making the printing house official with the copy writing.

So we sat on our asses till, the king told us to arrive for the peace deal.

——————————————————————————

By the end of the war we lost 100 men, which was really impressive as the rest of the armies lost 1,000s of men.

All the Lords gathered on the hall and brought forward varying plans for peace and Ned brought forth mine.

A complete dissolution of the Iron islands as a region. All the loyal hours would get on island even the crown lands would get one, they would be these islands as payment for all the years of raiding .

With the help of some compulsion charms on the king and The Hand got them to agree, as the Grayjoys were very much not in the position to argue they agreed to the terms.

The conference then moved on to how the land would be distributed. That took a cart long time with a lot of arguing and ass kissing from the other lords, but for The Norht we got Great Wyk and Dorne got Old Wyk which while small would be under our wards to slowly become fertile over time.

The rest of the lord spent awhile to decide who got what. But I left the conference with the permission of Lord Stark to head home as if we kept good speed I could make it in time for the birth of my first kid.

So I said goodbye to Obryen and gave him, his family a gift of a mountain, an invitation to the city anytime, and a Falcon to write me when he wants to come I will send a Airships for him and his kids.
