Chapter 6

- Where is this damn house! - trying to find the right address, Kali remembered all the gods and demons. Once again looking at the shabby leaflet with the address that she received from Valerie, she looked around.

After checking the address again on the piece of paper, Kali made the next attempt, but patience does not last forever. A desperate roar left her throat. People looked at her as if she were insane. One compassionate old woman who lived in the area approached Kali and patted her on the shoulder.

- Why are you scaring people, baby? - turning, Kali came across a smiling wrinkled face of an old woman. She wore glasses with incredibly thick glass, and purple hair stuck in small curls in all directions. She didn't know whether to laugh or cry, and people looked at her like crazy.

- Could you tell me where I can find this house? - showing the address on the sheet, Kali prayed to herself so that the old woman could answer.

- Oh, you're almost there. We have a confused district, over there at the crossroads, - the woman pointed to the nearest one, - turn left, go straight there and don't turn off, you will drive into the appendix and find the right house.

- Thank you, - Kali smiled at the old woman after learning the direction and gave gas on her iron horse.

A couple of minutes later, the girl drove into the right lane, the sounds of the holiday were audible from one of the houses. A string of cars confirmed the doctor's guesses. Having parked, she headed for the gate, where there was a passage to the back yard. There was a crowd of people in the yard. Adults stood in groups, discussing something, and children arranged obstacle races, manoeuvring between the legs of adults. She tried to look among the crowd of Adam and Tori, but among so many people it was not possible to find the right ones.

- Looking for someone, beauty?

The stranger approached her from behind and ran hands over her shoulders. Kali started and shook her head. A tall, slender blonde with magnificent breasts materialized in front of her. The woman knew what effect it produces on others, and was not shy about using it. She walked with interest through the figure of Kali, from such a look any person would feel uncomfortable, but this did not have any effect on the surgeon. Noticing her failure, the girl decided to strengthen the effect and folded her arms under her chest, slightly raising it. - Yes, but it doesn't concern you, - similar neglect shocked the blonde, and she watched with a long face as the doctor calmly walked around her and headed into the depths of the yard.

This time, Kali did not even have time to look around, when she heard the boy's familiar voice. With a small whirlwind, Adam ran past the adults and ran to the doctor.

- Dr Kali, you came, I was waiting for you! We did not start to eat a cake! - the boy grabbed her by the hand and unceremoniously dragged through the crowd, shoving everyone and everyone on the way.

- Man, don't be in such a hurry! - Kali laughed at the boy's nonchalance, but followed him, not lagging, periodically apologizing.

- But the cake, - there was impatience on his face, passing through the bulk of the guests, they went to the buffet.

At the table, Kali noticed Tori talking to some man and Marie. Yes, it is with her. If Kali knew that friends were gathering for her birthday, then she would not have to wander around the area in search of the right house. Her eyes narrowed, she carefully examined the area, and after a couple of moments, a familiar dishevelled head caught its way through the guests to Marie. Valerie carefully walked past people, holding glasses in her hands. Feeling Kali's gaze, she turned around and nearly poured the contents onto someone in the crowd. She raised one of the glasses as a greeting and returned her attention to the road.

- Tori, look! I found Dr Kali! - the boy proudly raised his head, continuing to hold Kali's hand, - We want a cake.

- So now, can we cut it? - Adam nodded. The holiday was long in full swing, and many children were looking forward to receiving a piece of the treasured treat. However, Adam refused to cut the cake until Kali appeared, despite the entreaties of his father and aunt.

The last remark made others freeze. Tori blushed and looked down, trying not to look into the surgeon's eyes. Marie and Valerie, who arrived in time by this moment, were slightly surprised, but there was approval in her eyes. The man grinned and held out his hand for greeting.

- Nice to meet you. I'm Adam's father, Henry. We have already talked with Dr Vel, she said that now you will lead Adam, - the man completely ignored the boy's words and did not comment on his sister's reaction.

- Nice, - what else can others say?

The boy compromised his aunt, and Kali at heart was glad to know about it. Adam and Henry were completely different. Henry was a man of short stature with a downed figure. He was the proud owner of a red hock and strong-willed chin. Kali began to compare brother and sister. Their eyes were similar, but in all other respects, they were very different. The man gave the impression of a good samaritan, despite his small stature, it was blowing from him by force. Tori was more like a delicate flower, soft features, dimples on her cheeks that appeared, Kali smiled, and a slender figure with all the necessary roundness. Just now, Kali noticing how Tori wearing a white dress, worn over her, emphasizing the line of her chest and waist.

She decided not to focus on Tori's reactions and move on to other pressing issues.

- Man, I have a present for you, - the boy's attention was fully focused on the doctor, and he turned into a wait. Kali threw off her backpack and pulled out a box wrapped in gold gift paper.

As soon as the box fell into Adam's hands, the boy began to tear the paper. Before his eyes appeared a package from a toy that he had never seen. Discouraged by his ignorance, he looked at Kali.

- What is it?

- These are game tops, come on, I will show, - she pulled out a special platform for tops and two pistols for starting, - look. This is a gun to launch the top, and this is a platform for the game.

Kali quickly launched the first one spinning top, which went around the circumference of the plate, and then the second. The tops collided in the centre and began to circle the site, constantly striking. Adam was delighted, after a couple of minutes other children gathered around them and tried to beg him to try to launch. Seeing the hype created by the toy, Kali took out a second box, which was an addition to the gift - it was a kit for assembling her spinning top. Children, noticing new details, as well as receiving an explanation of how to assemble their spinning top, began to create their own. Adam, at the head of a group of children, announced the start of the competition, completely forgetting about the cake.

Rising from the ground, the girl went to the others. Henry looked at Kali gratefully.

- Thank you, it's of little interest to him.

- Do not thank her, - Valerie decided to insert her five cents, - she is turned on such toys — this is her little weakness.

- Shush! - Kali glanced at her friend. - By the way, why didn't you say you were invited too?

- Am ... - Valerie awkwardly scratched her head and, quickly turning around, retreated behind Marie's back.

- We just didn't think, - it's much easier to plead guilty than to deny.

After talking a little more, Valerie and Marie, referring to friends, left the group, and Henry joined the children's game and helped Adam assemble his unique toy. Tori and Kali were left alone, the awkwardness was felt between them.

- You must be hungry, - Tory picked up a plate and began to slowly lay down all kinds of dishes. Kali looked at Tori but accepted the food offered.

- You are not like your brother, - the conversation did not seem to be glued. Kali expected an answer but decided for herself that if Tory did not speak, she would find a reason to leave.

- I am adopted, - Kali looked at Tori in surprise. She expected to hear anything, but not that. She felt that Tori had not finished yet. It seemed that memories had taken her away - my parents died in an accident, my father's remote relative took me and so we became a brother and sister.

- I'm sorry, I'm sorry ...
