When you awake

The planet was named Gaea, and it was separated into two supercontinents. The two continents are so far away from each other that no one on this continent knows the name of the other side. The ancient records refer to them as the Far West Netherlands.

The remaining supercontinent was known as the Great East Motherlands and was made up of Rodinia to the south and Pangaea, the continent where the Saint Anubis City was located. Jody's country was known as the Anubis Dynasty. The Dynasty comprised thirty-three kingdoms, three empires, and four Great Sage Houses of the four prominent Sage families, all under one Pharaoh. On Gaea, any family clan led by the equivalent of Mage rank Sages was known as an Aristocratic Clan.

'Well, I guess it's now the three major Houses,' Jody mused to himself, as his father had reportedly decimated House Shu.

Only those families with legend rank Sages could be recognized as Noble Sage Households, and its members were all considered nobles. Jody couldn't help but wonder who was the legend of House Trillwolf.

Sages weren't born very often, and Noble Sage Houses were typically comprised of multiple clans, just like in Jody's home, where the different factions were all tied to different backgrounds.

The current ruling family of the Dynasty was House Congo, and they were considered royalty by everyone but the four Great Sage Houses, who were allowed independence.

Jody was shocked to discover Pharaoh Saint Anubis of House Congo had been ruling over this Dynasty for the last 860 years!

How wild was that? The guy didn't look a day over forty.

However, while House Congo was the ruling house of the Dynasty, their overall strength was only equal with the three major houses, at best. In this world, might was right. Whatever the power level of the experts in an organization decides the organization's status in society.

The Pangaea continent was divided into five regions labeled Origin Wards. There were powerful natural energy barriers made of dense, stable energy that the people of the continent called kekkai energy. The kekkai energy separated the different wards. No records indicated where this kekkai originated from or why it was there, nor was Jody's mother willing to explain this phenomenon to him.

However, due to the memories that he inherited from the Titan, Jody instinctively knew the source of this energy was most likely from somewhere in the eighth layer of the sky, similar to the Destiny Platform. There must be a massive crystal underneath the earth that serves as a conduit to this energy source.

Each outer ward covered an area of nearly 9,000,000 sq. miles, with the powerful dynasties or other powerful civilizations as the center. To little Jody from Earth, these figures were insane. 9,000,000 sq. miles was basically the size of a continent in his old world! So the half-continent, he was on like five continents in one. This news scared Jody silly. How big was this star? All thoughts of this world and his own being similar flew out of his head just like that.

'This really is a completely different land...'

Saint Anubis City was located a little to the east of the center of the West Ward, close to the central kekkai. To the northeast of Saint Anubis City was the Eastern Badlands, which stretched for thousands of miles in the east, past the central kekkai, and beyond sight. To the southwest of the city were the various empires and lands of the West Ward.

"Mother, can you teach me how to freeze-frame people like you did with Ke Si back then?" The little Lord Trill suddenly found his mother with a request.

"It's Head Butler Ke Si, Lord Josiah. Mind your manners," said Lady Isis while glaring at her son. Whenever they were alone, this child would use all types of loose terms and slang, forcing her to discipline him, "and what kind of weird language have you picked up? Less of this nonsense, or you will only be reading books of my choosing."

"Yes, Mother Dearest, of course, it is Head Butler Ke Si. But less of that, can you teach me how to turn people into ice sculptures as well? Please, Ma, aren't you an ice goddess?" whined Jody, with his pleading blue eyes. The sincerity in his childish voice when he used the term 'goddess' made Lady Isis feel worshiped.

"I will teach you," Jody's mother flicked her son's forehead, her icy heart melting against her will. "Things will be different when you awake. Josiah, you must be careful of who you ask to teach you in the future. Did you not already ask your father to teach you as well? We are your parents, so our mission is to prepare you for life. However, do not ask this of others so casually. These are powerful words, and no one takes them lightly. Karma forms between teacher and student, influencing your fate in odd ways."

"Awesome! Okay, Ma!" said Jody with a radiant, wicked smile, like he just hit the lottery.

He had stopped listening after the first four words.

"Jody, what did Mother JUST say!" shouted his mother angrily.

"Yes, excellent Mother, this little Lord is truly grateful," Jody bowed meekly with an adorable countenance.

Lady Isis almost fainted in frustration.

"So can we start now, Ma? I just read…" Suddenly, Jody completely paused before his eyes seemed to lose focus, becoming vacant.

The sapphire blue magical gem that was floating calmly behind Jody suddenly released a dazzling light before disappearing into the center of his brow like it was a lake. Then, a mysterious and ancient chant was heard in the space around them.

Isis stiffened momentarily before relaxing again when she heard the soft chanting.

"It has finally started…today of all days," said Isis, as a hint of worry appeared between her brows.

Her son was having the most impactful moment of his life so far on the exact date of her worst nightmare. Was this an omen? She immediately sent a message to her husband, who appeared with Ke Si moments later.

"My heart, has it started?" asked Osiris while observing his son carefully.

"Indeed. Osiris, there is something I need to discuss with you," Isis' voice was as cold as winter, and no emotion could be felt when she spoke.

Ke Si was stunned, and the House Lord looked suspiciously at his wife.

"Take the boy and leave us alone for a while, Ke Si," Osiris said indifferently.

"My lord…" Ke was rather unwilling to leave in the current circumstance, but one look from his master ended his protest before it even began. "Right away, master."

Once Isis could no longer sense Ke Si's presence, she invoked a serene force barrier that sealed Osiris and her from the outside world completely.

"You know what we have done, don't you?" Isis asked Osiris as she tried to keep her calm.

"The charm I placed on my heart faded quite a while ago while you were still pregnant. I saw his eyes on the day he was born. Along with all of the abnormalities surrounding him since that very day. How could I not know what we have done?" Osiris replied nonchalantly.

"You must not let Josiah get caught up in this…this…this shit show that you call revenge. This evil plan of mutual destruction. I did not intend to and should not have had a child, but I cannot allow my son to be ruined by your scheming," Isis' voice was nearly trembling as she spoke, her tongue laced with disgust.

Isis' demeanor had drastically changed, and Osiris could no longer see the woman who doted on him so lovingly. He knew she had removed the magical veil of emotion she used daily. Unlike the weak charm curse Osiris had placed on himself, Isis could use high-level glamor magic and cancel it at a whim. He felt an indescribable shame and guilt for allowing her to suffer like this, yet his expression remained impassive.

"He is not only your son. I will do everything in my power to protect Josiah. If I treated him as expendable, do you think I would go through the trouble of painting a target on our backs just to make him a medjay?" replied Osiris grimly. He looked at this Mistress Frozen Night, his voice and eyes both becoming exceptionally soft. "My brother would already stop at nothing to kill him. If the White Demon could move in the open right now, perhaps it would have already been done.

"For my son, for my family, for Iara…for myself. This plan must continue. We must be successful. Sacrifices will certainly be made, but rest assured Josiah will not be one of them."

Isis stared Osiris in his eyes deeply for a few breaths before replying with complete indifference, "I would hope not…I will be going along with this 'plan' of yours, but when my son's safety is at risk…you should know what will happen."

Gold-tinted forces erupted from Isis's scantily clad body, transforming her golden-brown skin into its pure gold hue. She held out her hands, palms up and spread slightly apart. Above her left hand appeared an elongated pyramid formed of interlaced lines that seemed both new and ancient simultaneously. An elephant adorned a similarly shaped mark above her right hand. The two shapes combined on Isis' head to form a crown of two majestic horns, which were joined by other lines forming diadems.

"I know how much effort you will have to put into protecting our son now that his potential is known to be what it is. I know that our plans will be affected once the White Demon learns Josiah became a medjay and the events surrounding it. Because of this, I will be giving you what you want today. I will give you what you need to be successful."

After speaking, Isis dropped her light robes, revealing a flawless, peerless body. Behind her, a golden door full of mirrors appeared in the void that looked to be a manifestation of some divine force art.
