Chapter 18 – Monopolizing Hunting Spot

July 5th, Saturday Morning.

Ferin's Penthouse.

"Aaaahhh~" Ferin stretched her body and yawned loudly when she woke up from her sleep. She looked to the side, finding her boyfriend wasn't in bed with her anymore and spoke up, "At?"

"I'm here, Fer." He answered with his usual deep morning voice. "Come out. Breakfast is ready."

"Uwaaahh!" She jumped out of bed and ran to the bathroom with her blue eyes sparkling in anticipation, "Curry rice?"

"You know me too well." Atlas laughed and shook his head, "Yes, it's curry rice. Your favorite meal. A bit heavy for the morning but, let's just have a cheat day."

"Yayyyy~"

"Eat first and brush your teeth after. Then get dressed, okay? We still have an hour before the night cycle ends."

"Okayyy!" Ferin rushed to brush her teeth and clean herself while Atlas set up the dining table for breakfast.

While waiting for her girlfriend to finish her morning routine, Atlas sat down on the chair and went over their inventory in his system window to sort out their loot. He could control it with his smartwatch. It made playing games easier later on.

"We gained a lot last night. I'll try to make a potion when I get my subclass at Level 20.' Atlas thought to himself while going through their items in his inventory. 'Fer got more drops than me. Her luck is so good.'

Usually, players didn't sell normal or uncommon rarity items but instead used them to create their own equipment. But Level 15 materials were trash, even if it was [Uncommon]. Only [Rare] or above was useful.

'Just these things alone could make us 800 Nar if we sold it to an NPC. That will help us in this early game. And... As I thought...'

Horizon Online's website had just made an announcement. It was regarding the quests in Hub and their rewards.

The developers had just made changes to the rewards of the quests in the Hub. Some changed their rewards to better equipment while some even got higher rewards than that.

They also announced the additional Monthly quest, which was different from the weekly quest.

Atlas scrolled the announcement and smiled. The rewards were what he had wanted in this early game.

"Hehe, let's eat!" Ferin jumped and sat on the chair beside Atlas with a bright smile on her face. She wrapped her arms around his body and leaned in, kissing his cheek before they started to eat.

"Thanks for the meal!"

"Dig in."

After they had eaten and prepared to log back in, Atlas asked Ferin a question as they were lying down on the bed.

"So, what do you think of the new rewards?"

"It's similar to what we know now. The daily quests don't change that much." Ferin replied honestly with a shrug and spoke again, "The Weekly quest is slightly better too, but not that significant since it's also for Level 10."

"Same with Monthly quest. Although I have no idea what to expect from that." She paused for a moment and continued her answer, "Though the equipment given as rewards are enough to trade with or sell to other players at this time."

"Right. And, Fer. Do remember that the reward increased every 5 levels. And we're Level 15 now, so..."

"Soooo..." Ferin hummed for a moment to think and answered with a realization. "The rewards must be changed too! Awesome! Now I understand why you want to reach Level 15 yesterday."

"Yeah." He nodded, "Let's check the Quest Board after selling all our waste materials."

"Gotcha!"

"Alright, logging in." Atlas and Ferin returned to their bedroom and logged in into Horizon Online.

...

Rudina City.

After selling everything in the General Store, Atlas obtained an extra 882, ending them with a total of 2928 Nar.

2928 Nar was enough to buy a few level 15 consumables. However, Atlas didn't need them now. They would need a lot of money at Level 20, so they were saving them.

"We're rich." Ferin murmured to herself as they left the general store, "That's a lot of money for Level 15 players."

"No amount of money is enough in Horizon Online." Atlas answered as he walked together with her toward the Quest Board, "And that's why we need to farm more."

"Right! But can I keep that money when the ranking is introduced to the game, please? I want my name to be up there too." Ferin puffed her cheeks like a cute bunny girl. She even put on an act that was hard for Atlas to ignore.

"Hehe, I won't steal your spotlight, Fer." He patted her head with a chuckle and spoke again, "That will be your achievement and I will just watch you proudly."

"At!" Ferin jumped and tackled him into a hug before they went to check the Quest Board. They spent 300 Nar to board the Hub.

Upon arrival, they noticed many players gathering around the Quest Board with anticipation. Naturally, they would be curious because Horizon Online just announced the change.

"What the hell!?" Someone suddenly cursed loudly and caught everyone's attention. "What changed? It's still robbery! The daily reward quest is 300 Nar, while we need 150 Nar just to board the Hub!"

"Calm down dude." Another player, probably his friend, tried to calm him down, "Look at this Weekly Quest! It's worth 1500 Nar and a piece of random [Uncommon] armor, look!"

"No fucking way!" The first person yelled in shock before he began to look through the list carefully. He looked up with a bright expression on his face and cursed again, "Damnit! Fuck my mouth and eyes. You're right. Good game. Kind game. Do give us more reward! Hallelujah!"

The whole Hub was laughing out loud at this scene and couldn't stop. Even Atlas had a smile on his face after seeing this guy's reaction.

"That guy is stupid." Ferin giggled cutely, "Money well spent on a comedy."

"Let's see if the Weekly quest is any good too." Atlas suggested with a chuckle as they walked to the Quest Board to check the list too.

And upon reaching their destination...

"What!?"

"Wow!"

They were also shocked by the new rewards.

Aside from the Daily quest, the Weekly Quest was also changed into something that was actually worth taking. The Monthly quest, which they could only take once a month, was also not bad.

"T-This is insane!" Ferin gasped in shock with her eyes opened wide at the list.

"The Daily Quest now gives 500 Nar, random [Common] equipment, and reputation. The Meekly Quest gives us a random [Uncommon] and the Monthly gives us a chance to get a [Rare] equipment on top of 5000 Nar!"

"The rewards are insane." Atlas also commented with a wide smile on his face as he stared at the Quest Board in front of them. "As much as I want to do a Monthly Quest, it will be a waste right now. So, let's start with Weekly Quest. We can repeat it 3 times and it will reset tomorrow."

"Good idea." Ferin nodded, her head bobbed to the left and right. Naturally, her ears followed suit, gaining attention from other players around them. "Let's get it!"

"Alright. This one is good enough, I think."

Atlas selected a certain Weekly Quest that caught their attention and told Ferin about it.

"Kill 5 Elite Lizardmen." Ferin read the quest description. As a party, they had the same quest window while getting a separate reward.

"We can do this in an hour and get 3000 Nar while earning EXP at the same time. It's a great quest for our level right now. There is also a random [Uncommon] armor as a reward. Let's hope we get one for a Warrior or a Mage. We can sell it to other players if the armor is useless to us." Atlas spoke up after reading the description, "Is it okay, Fer?"

"Hoho~ Look at this little boyfriend of mine, thinking so far ahead." Ferin smirked cutely and asked jokingly, "I am counting on you, future husband."

"Look at you talking cheekily like that." Atlas grinned and flicked her forehead lightly, "I will not spoil you if you talk like that."

"Ahaha~ I'm just joking. But seriously, that is a good plan, At. Let's just do that."

"Understood."

And so, they accepted the Weekly Quest without hesitation.
