June, unaware of the full extent of her newfound powers, finds herself battling creatures she once believed existed only in stories. As danger escalates, she must adapt quickly, stepping into the role of a leader and guiding others through relentless battles. One day, she may be powerful enough to bring peace to this new Earth—but for now, survival is all she can hope for.

Chapter 13

The plan was to get to the mall – which is the shopping and food area on campus, scout the boss out, level up, find new equipment and get out of campus to look for family. Simple right?

"Simple my ass", June cursed under her breath as she barely dodged an arrow shot by a skeleton archer, "I thought it would've just been sword and club wielding goblins but no they had to be archers too."

No sooner as they walked out the dorm building Tanya stepped into the open stomach of a body and screamed, attracting the attention of all the nearby goblins. With a fully healed and energized body, June - and her little army - managed to get rid of them in quick succession thanks to Tanya's illusions and the axe from the elite goblin.

As June got rid of the last goblin standing, she ducked in time to avoid an arrow aimed for her head and a snap as the flimsy, but dangerous, arrow broke against a wall. Swearing under her breath, she scanned the surroundings until the assailant was found – a goblin crouched behind a garbage bin with its eyes locked on her as it nocked another arrow.

She tried to get close to the goblin but kept having to retreat as arrows disrupted her moves. After blocking the fifth arrow coming for her, she remembered her personal army of skeletons and sent them out with the order of eliminating the archer. Dave of course wasn't sent on this task as her longest standing – and most levelled – skeleton, he was needed to protect June and Tanya as they hid behind a wall recovering from the mini battle.

[Bing! Level 1 goblin archer has been defeated. .15 exp gained!

"It's dead now and so are three of my skeletons sigh." June told Tanya as she led them out from hiding and taking note that both elite goblin and archer had the same exp amount.

"Well at least now you have space for this archer and any other unique goblin we kill!" Tanya exclaimed, seeing the good int the skeletons dying (the really just creep her out and the less to look at is better).

"Yeah but the mana it takes and the whole process is disturbing." June shuddered thinking about it. "Anyways let's go get the archer and continue moving and DON'T step in any bodies again please."

'No problem with that one.' Tanya thought while looking at her shoe caked in blood.

With the new archer skeleton under June's control, the two girls went to a nearby mango tree where a few ripe fruits were spotted. Food would be a problem very soon so it's good to get something now.

Moments later, the sound of approaching footsteps made her spin around, weapon drawn and mango in mouth, but it wasn't another enemy. A group of five emerged from the shadows – three girls and two boys.

The unknown group only saw June and Tanya as the remaining skeletons were sent to get rid of nearby goblins (no reason not to have passive exp flow). Lowering her weapon June glanced at Tanya, who had her hands up ready to cast, and motioned for her to stand down but remain guarded. After all, in times like these humans are the most dangerous animals.

"Well, this just got more interesting," Tanya muttered, stepping over to June as the two teams sized each other up.
