Chapter 31: Canon Starts (II)
"Ugh… Who the fxck sneak attack me. Show me your face if you're a man." said an angry Bora getting out of the rubbles. He was holding his stomach due to pain.
"I'm here, Bora of Prominence. Today I'm going to beat the living shxts out of you for daring to use my guild name in your crimes. I'm Natsu Dragneel of Fairy Tail guild. Remember it as the name of the guy who's going to make you bedridden for a month." said Natsu with a powerful voice approaching him slowly.
When he heard the name, Bora's face soon lost all his color. The person in front is the infamous salamander of the fairy tail guild who's known for making any dark mage he come across bedridden for a month.
"Please wait a second. I think there are some misunderstandings. I'm not a criminal. Please spare me, Salamander-sama." Bora tried to make different excuses, but Natsu didn't say anything in return.
The spectators screamed and ran away in panic after watching this. Lucy was just watching this in a dumb shocked expression. She never expected the person who saved her was such a powerful wizard. She felt embarrassed, trying to stop him from earlier.
Natsu didn't care about his words and just started his punishment. He punched and kicked all over Bora's body fast without giving him any chance to retaliate. Bora begged him to stop, but Natsu just put a deaf ear to his pathetic begging.
The street was filled with loud wailing of Bora. He sounded just like a pig being butchered.
Even Lucy felt terrified watching this. She never expected such a nice person to transform into a demon. Natsu just looked like a demon from hell delivering punishments to the sinner that is Bora.
After some time, Natsu stopped his beating. Bora had injuries and broken bones all over his body. It wasn't anything life-threatening but excruciating. His handsome face was covered with swellings all over it.
Soon, Rune-Knights appeared and took Bora into custody. They were scared, shxtless watching his injured body but didn't question Natsu. They didn't want to be the next person to get the infamous beating that Natsu is so famous for.
Natsu dusted off his clothes and approached Lucy with a warm smile. Lucy was scared of him watching his earlier violence but still maintained a proper posture in front of her savior.
"I'm sorry for letting you see this. But I can't help myself when such a scum uses our guild name. I hope you don't mind it." said Natsu with a grin that relaxed Lucy quite a bit.
"I-It's n-no p-problem hehe…" said Lucy, stuttering, and chuckling nervously.
Natsu smiled, watching her antics and just shrugged his shoulders.
"I'm hungry after this. Do you want to join me for a meal?" asked Natsu in embarrassment after his stomach started grumbling.
Lucy smiled, watching his embarrassed expression, and it relaxed her a lot. She replied to him in a smile. "Sure. I'm also hungry. Let me show you a place that serves nice dishes. You must be new to the town after all."
Natsu accepted her offer, and they headed toward a nice family restaurant. On the way, they made a lot of small talks with occasionally joking. It was a harmonious atmosphere between the two.
They also got to know each other even more. Lucy also told Natsu her dream of joining Fairy Tail, making him chuckle. He said to her that he would help her to introduce to the guild master, making her yelp in happiness.
Both of them got to know each other's magic as well. Lucy was pretty surprised when she learned that Natsu was a dragon-slayer but shrugged it off, thinking that was his reason for being so strong.
Soon, they reached the family restaurant and ordered different dishes. Natsu was a glutton just like in the anime, making her surprised due to the sheer amount of food he was consuming. But Natsu still maintained a proper manner while eating, unlike his canon counterpart.
They talked about various kinds of stuff during the meal. Lucy was glad to know that Natsu was not an idiot who only knew how to fight. He also read multiple books from the guild library about literature.
After the meal, Lucy paid all the bills with a heavy heart, saying that it was her thanks for saving her. Natsu told her that it was unneeded, but she insisted on it, making Natsu sigh in defeat and accept it.
They left the restaurant, and Natsu asked her to prepare all her things for departure. He wanted to return to the guild as soon as possible and smooch his beautiful girlfriend.
Lucy agreed and left to gather all her stuff. After some time, she arrived with heavy luggage making him sigh and put them all inside his storage.
Then, both of them boarded the train heading towards the magnolia town. Lucy was excited to join her dream guild finally.
'I'm finally starting my adventure, mother. Please watch over me in my new life as the fairy tail guild member.' thought Lucy with a happy smile.
Natsu just smiled, watching her and looked outside. He had a stern expression looking at the scenery.
'It finally begins, huh. I was tired of waiting for the canon to start. Now, it's officially the start of my journey toward the top of this world. I can't wait to meet you, Zeref.' thought Natsu inwardly.
The journey back was harmonious. Both of them kept making small talks and occasional jokes, enjoying themselves.
(A/N: I won't focus on building a relationship with Lucy. I will focus more on rebuilding his relationship with Erza. It won't be fast progress but keep reading to enjoy it. I hate spoiling lol.)
