Aftermath

(Next Day)

The village was in chaos. The Shimura and Sarutobi clan just vapourised by the bomb. Third Hokage and his two advisors also died, but Danzo was lucky that he was inside his ROOT base at that time.

But when Itachi found out about it, he killed Danzo in fear of him harming Sasuke if he becomes the Hokage.

And at the same time, the Uchiha clan was also massacred and it also has a bomb blast like the houses of the two advisors.

ANBU tried to find the source of explosion, or even how it was that it vapourised entire clans and surrounding areas. But nothing really came out of the investigation, since everything evaporated.

And not only ANBU, Zetsu was also investigating it. He knew that it was Uchiha Haruka as she also trapped Itachi for a long time. But what he failed to understand was what she used. In the end, he could only guess that it was some sort of Mangekyo ability with timed bombs. If he knew that she had a Mangekyo this destructive, he would have tried to recruit her in Akatsuki.

Alas, now her body was gone. The next thing he was worried about was that Fugaku and Mikoto's Sharingan, along with every adult's Sharingan was gone.

More clearly, every single adult's bodies were destroyed with small bombs.

Now, there were only two sources of Sharingan's left. One was Madara's collection and other was Danzo's collection. But that would barely make 50 pairs.

He sighed. He will have to bring out his collection if it became necessary. But he didn't really think that there is any use of them now in the grand scheme of things.

As for Itachi, he was coughing a lot due to inhaling smoke, and trying hard to control it to not show any weakness. He had made sure that Sasuke was safe and killed Danzo after knowing that Third Hokage also died. The Massacre felt pointless now, when both sides were destroyed. Not only Uchiha, but Sarutobi and Shimura, much smaller clans even if combined, were eradicated as well.

Well, he did place Sasuke in Tsukuyomi showing him that he killed their parents. Itachi had to die, and it could only be with Sasuke's hands.

Sasuke was still unconscious, and all major clan heads were in an emergency meeting. ROOT representative who was just below Danzo has also arrived because now that Danzo was dead, he would be commanded by Hokage, the new Hokage.

Shukaku coughed a bit and started the meeting.

"I will get straight to the point. We were attacked. ROOT commander said that Itachi killed Danzo, Sasuke, the youngest son of the Uchiha Clan head was put into a severe genjutsu by him and he hasn't woken up yet, and we didn't find any evidence of the explosives. There is no chakra trace we can find. So, we can only assume that the tensions between Uchiha clan and Hokage and his advisors finally became too much and he killed both of the parties.

The genjutsu on Sasuke isn't a normal 3 tomoe Sharingan, but Mangekyo. The explosions could be his other ability.

Or, some people sneaked into the village and helped Itachi who has betrayed the village.

Or, it could have been that one responsible for the Kyuubi attack 7 years ago.

I can keep on making theories, but right now, we need a Hokage, even if temporary, and be prepared for war. There is a high chance that other villages may attack us after this."

Everyone nodded.

"So now, the question is, who?"

Nobody was too keen on becoming the Hokage. Out of everyone present, Hiashi was the strongest, but to lead his own clan. And if he bacame the Hokage and someone else became the clan head, he was sure that either of his daughters will be branded with the Caged Bird Seal.

Plus, his reputation wasn't that high at all to become the Hokage.

"Call Jiraya and Tsunade back."

The ANBU head nodded to Hiashi's word, and motioned two members to bring the summoning scroll of Jiraya's toads.

"Shikaku, handle things until we have a new Hokage."

"What a drag. Fine. Wait! Hiashi-san, please check all the clans with your Byakugan one more time. And please start a thorough search all over the village along with Aburame, Inuzuka and Yamanaka clans. We can't have another explosion hiding.

And we should apply the war code, right?"

"Yes. The war is in the hands of other villages now. I wouldn't put it past them to attack."

"Just in case, I will spread the rumours that it was the work of a criminal organization who is targetting all 5 villages. It will keep them busy for a while. Should we start trouble-?"

ROOT's now head suggested and asked. It would be easy to have some ROOT members disguise as an organisation and create trouble in other villages. This is what Danzo-sama did during the wars.

"Only do the first thing you suggested. Make a story that they have some sort of weapon which needs a year or two to charge, and the next target is _. The second suggestion is too dangerous and can start a war even if the others don't."

"Understood."

And like that, the meeting went on for another half hour.

Meanwhile, in another dimension, Haruka's real body was looking at the bodies of her dead clan members she got here. Right now, she couldn't see properly without Sharingan ON, but she sighed in relief that one of her clones managed to get Hashirama cells while raiding the ROOT bases amidst the chaos.

She slumped down in her bed. She used up two months of chakra, but she survived, and even managed to bring the bodies here instead of them being violated and gotten their Sharingans pulled out by bastards like Danzo and Zetsu.

It felt like her preparation in surviving paid off and a huge burden was taken off her shoulders.
