"Yin and Yang Release Scroll!" Toshiro replied confidently to Fugaku's inquiring look, without a hint of hesitation.

In fact, he had made his decision before even flipping through the scrolls. It was either the Hiraishin or the Yin and Yang Release. The Hiraishin was particularly appealing because it provided an excellent means of escape, something invaluable for someone who prioritized survival. It would have been unparalleled for evasion.

With this technique, he could navigate through the Third Ninja War, the Nine-Tails' attack, and the night of the clan's massacre without much trouble. He didn't care about achieving glory or heroic feats; his primary concern was ensuring his own survival. Unlike the Fourth Hokage, he didn't possess a selfless spirit, willing to sacrifice everything for the village.

He would gladly contribute to the village's defense, but if things went south, his priority would be to escape. Whether he could master the technique or not was another matter, but he felt confident about using it, at least for evasion. He had no intention of becoming famous solely by mastering one technique like Minato Namikaze.

However, he was fairly confident—around fifty to sixty percent—that he could at least use the jutsu to flee effectively. This confidence stemmed from the fact that several of the Fourth Hokage's guards, like Genma Shiranui, Raidou Namiashi, and Iwashi Tatami, were able to perform a derivative of the Hiraishin and teleport with the Fifth Mizukage.

This demonstrated that the spatial attribute wasn't exclusive to the Second Hokage and Minato. As a time traveler, Toshiro believed he had a fighting chance. He had been preparing for years, studying a lot of theoretical knowledge from the Ninja Academy and borrowing numerous books from Konoha's library. His theoretical knowledge far surpassed that of most chunin and jonin.

Becoming a ninja would grant him access to even more theoretical knowledge. He was determined to master this technique, even if it meant breaking it down into smaller, more manageable parts. He didn't need to perform the technique flawlessly like Minato or the Second Hokage; he just needed it to work well enough for his purposes.

If his natural talent fell short of the technique's requirements, he was willing to eliminate some of the non-essential functions. He believed in breaking down complex tasks into smaller parts and mastering each one. Even if he couldn't do it all, he would focus on perfecting the parts that mattered most to him.

What intrigued Fugaku was what motivated Toshiro to make such a choice and how much he truly understood about these rare techniques.

"Toshiro, Yin, and Yang Release are significantly more difficult to master than the five elements of ninjutsu," Fugaku began. "I suggest you consider something else, like the Fire Release Scroll next to it."

Despite Fugaku's advice, Toshiro remained resolute. Fugaku continued, "I've heard that you have an exceptional talent for Fire Release Ninjutsu, with control far beyond that of an ordinary chunin. Practicing using the Fire Release Secret Scroll would maximize your advantage in Fire Release Jutsus."

Toshiro was slightly surprised by Fugaku's willingness to engage in such a detailed discussion. However, he remained firm in his decision. While the Fire Release Secret Scroll was tempting, containing the accumulated wisdom of many predecessors of the clan and promising rapid improvement in Fire Release Ninjutsu, it had a glaring weakness: it could be easily countered by enemies who knew its vulnerabilities.

"Fugaku-senpai, I understand the value of the Fire Release Scroll," Toshiro replied. "However, based on the experiences recorded by our ancestors, Yin and Yang Release directly pertain to the origin of chakra, spiritual energy, and physical energy. They speculated that significant progress in Yin-Yang Release could enhance abilities in genjutsu, the Sharingan, and Chakra density. I want to explore that potential."

The ancestor Toshiro referenced, in reality, was the author of the manga "Naruto," Masashi Kishimoto. But his serious expression and confident demeanor made his explanation convincing.

"Enhancement in genjutsu, the Sharingan, and Chakra through Yin-Yang Release?" Fugaku repeated, frowning slightly. "I haven't heard of that theory before."

Indeed, the idea that Yin-Yang Release could enhance genjutsu, the Sharingan, and physical energy was unfamiliar to Fugaku. However, Toshiro's confidence and determination were evident, and Fugaku couldn't help but be intrigued by the young man's ambitions.

"In that case, there's a blank scroll in the adjacent chamber. You can transcribe the Yin and Yang Release scroll there. But let me remind you solemnly that any copied scrolls must not be leaked. If anyone in the clan disobeys this rule, they will be severely punished!"

These clan secret techniques and scroll materials are to be transcribed and, once practiced, must be destroyed under the witness of the clan to prevent leaks. This protocol is essential.

In the small, cramped chamber next to the basement, there was only a simple futon, a low square table, and an oil lamp. Toshiro sat on the futon, fully absorbed in his task. He spread out a blank scroll on the square table and diligently copied from the secret scroll before him.

He hadn't expected things to go so smoothly. Originally, he imagined that the two different techniques of Yin and Yang Release would be stored in separate scrolls. He thought that obtaining even one of these scrolls, either Yin Release or Yang Release, would be a significant accomplishment. Obtaining both techniques seemed like it would take many years.

To his surprise, both he was able to get his on them together and very fast. Maybe some kind of luck was on his side today.

Although his family's books contained brief introductions to Yin and Yang Release, they didn't detail specific training methods. Now that he had access to this information, Toshiro felt an overwhelming sense of excitement.

As time passed, the scroll in his hands, more than half a meter wide and nearly five meters long, gradually filled with dense writing.

After nearly an hour of intense concentration, Toshiro finally let out a long breath.

"Finally finished!" he thought to himself.

'Couldn't the clan have provided a pre-copied scroll? This is inhumane.'

With a hint of complaint in his heart, Toshiro carefully closed both scrolls and headed towards the main hall of the basement.

"Excuse me, Fugaku-senpai, I've finished the copying!"

He returned the massive Yin and Yang Secret Scroll to the stone platform. Facing Fugaku, who was still seated, he bowed and expressed his gratitude.

Nodding, Fugaku glanced at the copied scroll in Toshiro's arms. He didn't say much; this was merely part of his duties.

Every time someone favored by the clan head came to select a scroll, Shigeyama would arrange for him to guide them. He understood the significance.

"Yin and Yang Release training is more challenging than ordinary ninjutsu or chakra nature and form changes," Fugaku said as he stood up.

"If you encounter any difficulties, feel free to ask me for advice. I have some experience with Yin Release."

As he spoke, Fugaku led the way towards the exit. With his back to Toshiro, he formed seals to perform a ninjutsu. The candles in all four corners were extinguished, and a faint black seal pattern appeared in the basement.

This basement evidently had some kind of seal trap in place. Entering without the correct seals could have severe consequences.
