Chapter 30 : Training Naruto 2

"Huff huff huff' Shikamaru after explaining to Naruto how to do water walking and leaving Naruto and his own clone to train, started to spar with Naruto.

Both of them got an advantage from this. Naruto gained much-needed guidance for close combat fighting and experience from Shikamaru while Shikamaru was getting a living punching bag who no matter what, gets up after getting hit.

'Man Uzumaki physic is such a cheat,' Shikamaru couldn't help but complain after seeing Naruto once again standing up after being knocked down. He was doing better each and every time while Shikamaru was also seeing improvement in his stamina and efficiency.

But it was still annoying as hell seeing how effortless it was for Naruto to keep going even after 2 hours of constant sparing. 

"Okay Naruto, let's stop here.

Now one after one, release your shadow clones. Remember one after one. Not together," Shikamaru said once he found his stamina hitting rock bottom. He seriously needed some rest. So he too releases his shadow clone and suddenly 2 hours of Rasengan mastering slab in his head, making him groan.

"Did you feel something," Shikamaru asked.

"Huh, feel what," Naruto asked still confused. Not even look like he felt any kind of backslash with that jutsu. 

"You know, you now know what kind of training your clones did while we were here right," Shikamaru asked, not wanting to go through the Kakashi route and demonstrate to Naruto how memory sharing works with clones.

"Hmm yes, but so what," Naruto still didn't get it. He at least knew that Shikamaru was smart and he meant something which he was not getting inside his head right now.

"Idiot, do you see, while your clones were practising water walking, we were able to do Taijutsu practice?

This means that we did twice as much training at the same time," Shikamaru said practically hearing the gear inside Naruto's head turning.

And then he saw a bulb light up beside Naruto as the blond Jinchuriki finally understood the gravity of what Shikamaru just told him.

"Thi... this Shikamaru," Naruto almost stutters while talking.]

"Yeah yeah, this means that you can fast forward your training by multiple folds. Let's say for water walking, for the time being, you created 5 clones, right? That means that under the last 2 hours, while you were here, you trained for 10 hours if your clones are considered. " Shikamaru smirked as he saw an awe look appear on Naruto's face. But before the blond exploded with excitement Shikamaru decided to explain to him how this technique is also a double-edged sword. And also that he shouldn't reveal this method to others.

Naruto just nodded as chicken pecking rise, at this point he would do anything Shikamaru asked him, maybe even kissing Sasuke again. Just maybe?

After Naruto was gone, Shikamaru finally took out a balloon from the sealing scroll and intensely looked at the balloon. 

He only created 2 clones, making his training time only up to 4 hours. Not nearly enough to learn the first stage of Rasengan. But that's fine, he has time to learn this Jutsu. There is no point to rush. 

There is also the fact that he just can't leave everything to his clones. Rasengan is a technique which requires the highest degree of chakra control. Something which he can cultivate with the shadow clones technique. But unlike other techniques, Rasengan also needs one body to get used to the chaotic rotation of chakra over the palm of the shinobi.

If he really wants to master Rasengan then he has to get used to that chaotic rotation of chakra with his own hands. It can't be a clone.

"Sigh, for the time being, let's complete this book before Choji arrives." Shika sighed as he knew that soon Choji would be coming for training. 

"Well I should get some rest, I didn't even make anything good to eat for Choji. Though I don't think he will complain but ...

(Sometime Later)

As time went on, Shikamaru kept on helping Choji and Naruto. While he was also improving himself. Fuinjutsu, Assassination, planning, combat and everything else, he works in everything. 

The only eye-sore right now for him was Ino. The girl was getting stronger, she started to show more effort after the Land of the Snow mission and the Waves Mission. But anyone could tell that it was not enough.

It might have been if she was a normal civilian kunoichi. But as someone who represents the Yamanaka clan. No that won't do.

The problem here was that Shikamaru had no way to personally train Ino. While he knew many things which Ino could learn, he himself couldn't teach Ino those things. 

Ino in just a few months started to hold back the team. Well, Shikamaru was held back by his team by the start. But now he believes that if it's not the extreme then Choji can keep up with a B-rank mission. Ino can't.

And this let Shikamaru convince Asuma to do something about it.

And thus today team 10 was following Asuma not to the training ground 10 but rather in training ground 8.

Asuma after considering Shikamaru's words finally decided to act and find someone who can actually improve Ino.

Not like Asuma can't but his style is not at all suitable for Ino. But he know who can help her.

Kurenai.

And thus today was the first day of team 8 and 10 working together. Something even Kurenai wanted.

She too had genin who would highly improve under someone like Asuma rather than herself.
