Chapter:18

Late at night, in the Uchiha household, Uchiha Mikoto had just finished her bath. Her skin was slightly flushed, giving her a soft, alluring appearance.

She nestled into Uchiha Fugaku's arms, her body relaxed and comfortable, resembling a ripe peach that exuded an irresistible sweetness.

"Fugaku, guess what I saw today?" she asked, her tone playful.

"You've been in a good mood since you got home. Something good must've happened," Fugaku replied with a smile, running his fingers through Mikoto's loose, silky black hair as he enjoyed the scent of her shampoo.

"It did. I saw Itachi out shopping with a girl today," Mikoto revealed, her smile widening. "And she was quite pretty."

"Oh? Do you know who she is?" Fugaku's interest piqued slightly. He remembered Itachi had a close female friend, but the details were fuzzy in his memory.

"I asked around. Her name is Uchiha Izumi. Her father was from outside the clan, but her mother is one of us," Mikoto explained, her voice filled with delight.

"They seem to be close. What do you think their relationship is?" she teased.

"You're getting ahead of yourself. Itachi is only eleven. It's far too early to be thinking about that sort of thing," Fugaku said with a chuckle.

"Ninja grow up fast, you know. Just because they're young doesn't mean it won't happen later," Mikoto retorted, clearly enjoying the topic.

"Alright, alright. You're right," Fugaku relented. Then, with a playful grin, he added, "But before we worry about Itachi, how about we focus on giving him and Sasuke a little sister first?"

With that, he switched off the lights, and the room was soon filled with the sound of quiet laughter.

The following day, at the Konoha Police Force Headquarters, Fugaku called for one of his trusted subordinates, Uchiha Haruto.

"Captain, you wanted to see me?" Haruto asked as he entered the office, dressed in the green uniform and armband of the Uchiha Police Force.

Fugaku didn't answer immediately. Instead, he formed a series of hand signs, creating a soundproof barrier around the room. Once he was certain no one could overhear them, his expression turned serious.

"I've received disturbing news," Fugaku began, his voice low. "There is a traitor within the Uchiha clan."

Haruto's eyes widened in shock. "What? A traitor? Captain, is this information reliable?"

"I've personally verified it. The information is solid," Fugaku affirmed.

"Who is it? Who could betray their own clan?" Haruto's voice rose in anger, but Fugaku raised a hand to calm him.

"It's Uchiha Shisui and… Itachi."

Haruto was stunned into silence. His disbelief was evident. "Shisui… and Itachi? Captain, that can't be right! Itachi is your son! How could he betray you and the clan?"

Fugaku let out a heavy sigh. "Believe me, I didn't want to believe it either. But it's the truth. Itachi has aligned himself with the Third Hokage. He and Shisui are both traitors."

"If that's true, then… the Third Hokage already knows about our plans for the coup!" Haruto's face drained of color.

"Yes," Fugaku confirmed grimly, "he knows."

"What do we do? If the Hokage knows, then he'll strike first!" Haruto's panic was evident as sweat began to form on his brow.

"Calm down. It hasn't come to that yet. If the Hokage wanted to move against us, he would've done so by now," Fugaku reasoned. "The fact that we haven't been attacked means that the Third Hokage is still biding his time."

"But Shisui and Itachi… how do we fight them? They're both so powerful," Haruto muttered, fear creeping into his voice.

Fugaku's Sharingan flared to life, the tomoe spinning into the pattern of the Mangekyō Sharingan. "Don't forget—I have the Mangekyō Sharingan as well. We're not defenseless."

Haruto's panic eased as he remembered Fugaku's power. "Then… what should we do? Should we inform the rest of the clan?"

"No. We can't risk it," Fugaku warned. "Besides Shisui and Itachi, there may be other traitors in the clan. We need to be cautious."

"More traitors? Who else could be involved?" Haruto's fists clenched tightly. His loyalty to the Uchiha clan burned fiercely, and the idea of more betrayal filled him with rage.

"I don't know yet, but we must act carefully. I want you to secretly investigate. Look into everyone who attended the family meetings. Find out who's working with the Hokage."

"I'll find them, Captain. I swear it," Haruto promised, his eyes filled with determination.

As Fugaku watched his loyal subordinate leave, his thoughts turned inward.**

The betrayal of Shisui and Itachi was a bitter blow, but it wasn't the end. There was still time. Time to uncover the full scope of the conspiracy, time to rally the clan.

With his Mangekyō Sharingan and loyal followers like Haruto, Fugaku was determined to protect the Uchiha clan from within and without.
